Welcome to 2019! We can’t believe it has been 4 whole years since KeriKit launched, and we sold our very first bags to mothers & working women all over the world. So much has changed since then, but especially over the past year. We have been working to develop the brand in every possible way, starting with gorgeous new bag designs, right through to a brand new website, and even a brand new logo! We have refined our mission too, meaning that we are even more focussed on how we can best support working women and mums, in every way. Not just with great products, but also with timely advice and tips and tricks from like-minded ladies. Check out our new community of #Kitgirls to learn more.

If you’ve not heard of zero-waste restaurant ‘Silo’ in Brighton yet, you soon will. At the hugely prestigious ‘World Restaurant Awards 2019’ they took the crown in the

‘Ethical Thinking’ category - and for good reason. Silo founder Douglas McMaster has pioneered his concept to ensure every part of every fruit, vegetable or animal he cooks is used, making for a super-delicious and nutritious meal for all the family, that’s also kind to the environment.

1.25 kg of wild blackberries 3 large brambly apples about 700g Caster sugar 2 lemons Wash and remove the core from the apples and chop into bite-size pieces. Gently wash your wild blackberries in a sieve. Place the blackberries and apples in a large saucepan with 200ml water and cook over a very low heat for 10-12 minutes, stirring regularly, until the fruit cooks down to a pulp. Strain through a fine sieve into another saucepan, pushing with the back of a spoon to extract all the juice. In true Silo fashion, nothing gets wasted. All of the seedy pulp left in the sieve can be frozen in ice cube trays and next time you want a smoothie add a couple of the frozen pulp cubes to 1 banana, a tablespoon of honey and 300mls of milk and blend. With the juice in the pan that has been through the sieve, you'll need to add 350g of caster sugar for every 500ml of juice (you will have about 1 ltr of juice). Gently stir the juice and sugar mixture over a low heat until the sugar has completely dissolved, then increase the heat and bring just to the boil. Once it boils, remove from the heat, then stir in the lemon juice and pour the cordial in sterilised bottles and allow to cool. Once cool put the lid on the bottle and place in the fridge. The cordial will now keep in the fridge for 3 months. To serve, shake the cordial bottle well and dilute 1 part cordial with 5 parts chilled water in a jug and pour over ice cubes.

#Kitgirl Community - What is a #Kitgirl? A #Kitgirl is unfazed by the rigours of daily life, juggling work, motherhood and life in general, doing it all in style. Our founder Keri is the original #Kitgirl, caring for her 3 children, supporting her
