A LUXURIOUS RESIDENCE WITH A BREATHTAKING VIEW ON THE AEGEAN SEA AND A PRIVATE BEACH, SITUATED IN THE VERY HEART OF CRETE ISLAND
As soon as you leave behind the sunny Elounda, driving through the road leading directly to the Aegean, among the colors and scents of the Crete Island in Greece, you will come across the wonderful Villa Olivia. It is a private residence of 900 sqm surrounded by 4875 sqm of exquisitely landscaped terrains and overlooking directly the sea through a private sandy beach. The Project, realized by the Italian design and architecture Studio D73, with its well-known architects Marco Vismara & Andrea Viganò and brought to life by Mirum Group. Villa Olivia is built on three floors and the complex includes a Guest House and a Summer House completely equipped to host numerous guests without interfering with the privacy of the main Villa. At the very moment you cross the main entrance, the blue of the sea spreads in front of you and Villa Olivia welcomes you with a majestic, centuries-old olive tree: the tree after which the Villa was named. Shady paths that cross the lush garden, Mediterranean flowers, aromatic plants and agaves will guide you and make you discover the different types of gardens the Villa can boast of, including a convivial and spacious Spanish yard, where you can find a big table for 12 people and an infinity pool with solarium, bar and changing room, which is the perfect place to take your time and relax during the afternoons. The architects played skillfully with different heights and levels of floors, all this adds to the dynamic spirit to the external architecture: the spectacular swimming pool stands above the magnificent garden, which is on the sea level and has a direct entry to the Villa. On the road level, you can enter the noble part of the house: the entrance leads to a large living area with a dining room, a kitchen, an office and a service area. The staircase, adorned with wrought iron banisters that evoke traditional Cretan decorations, exclusively designed by D73 for this project, takes you up and downstairs. Upstairs you will find the two main bedrooms, with spacious walk-in wardrobes and private bathrooms. From one of them, you can access a large terrace overlooking the sea, an external Jacuzzi and sunbathing lounge area. Another bedroom leads to a sea-view veranda. 36
On the lower floor of the house, at the sea level and with a direct access to the garden, you will find a large living area with a kitchen and four guest bedrooms, each of them equipped with a private bathroom, all featuring an astonishing view of the Aegean Sea. The interior design of Villa Olivia can be defined as Mediterranean style with a contemporary touch. White, beige and dove-grey colors, carefully chosen to warm 37
up the atmosphere, are combined with blue color touches that recall the bond with Greece as well as with earth, water and air. The materials’ thorough choice – natural stones, marble, wood and wrought iron – is thought to strengthen the continuity between landscape and architecture. All the details have been conceived to create a charming architecture connected to an elegant interior design. RE DELLE ALPI HOTEL IN LA THUILE, ITALY From the ski slopes to the Spa at 2.000 meters altitude The new luxury building counts some suites and a wellness center designed by D73 /Arch. Marco Vismara & Arch. Andrea Viganò /; it directly overlooks the ski slopes: you can access it by skiing or with the snow cat
From the ski slopes directly to the sauna to enjoy, after a full day on the snow, the warmth of a Spa located at 2,000 meter altitude with a stunning view on Monte Bianco. Re delle Alpi Hotel opened to public on Christmas holidays: it is a touristic 4-star building born from the modernization of the already-existing Maison de Neige Hotel in La Thuile, Valle d’Aosta, Italy. The new project is unique and innovative, of a very high quality. Next to the historic structure, a modern and elegant building has been built, letting the guests entering the hotel from a new reception and lounge area. Inside, you can find a beautiful Spa with a breathtaking view on the white mountains and 12 new bedrooms; among them there are 5 executive suites and 3 junior suites with private Spa inside. This new project has been strongly desired by the owner of the hotel, who turned for the project to Studio D73, international architectural and interior design firm based in Italy with offices in Georgia, Cyprus, Ukraine and Russia. Back in 1924, the building was originally a military barracks, built to house border guards. Located in a panoramic spot on ski slope no. 7 San Bernardo, the longest of that ski area, the building was completely renovated in 2005, maintaining the same structure but adding a genteel touch to adapt the military construction to its intended new use as a hotel. During winter, guests can arrive to Re delle Alpi either by skiing or with the snow cat supplied by the hotel. The project for the new hotel developed 1,400 new square meters and guarantees new bedrooms for a total of 26 rooms inside the hotel. Besides the bedrooms, D73 project involved new lounge areas inside the structure, a new wellness area – opened also to guests coming from outside the hotel – equipped with changing rooms 40

and a reserved reception desk. The main elements of the new Wellness area at Re delle Alpi include different kinds of sauna, Turkish and Mediterranean bath, reaction showers and a big swimming pool with waterfalls for the cervical massage. Deeply inside the warm water or seated on the comfortable chaise lounge in the relax area, guests can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Alpine mountains from the big windows overlooking the white valley. This completely glassed-in area has a view over the valley, which D73 have enhanced with use of contrasting colors in their interiors: natural wood surface coverings are juxtaposed with recomposed stones from Ariostea’s Materie High-Tech, Lava Soft and Lava Naturale collections to create a bold contrast between the concrete, solid nature of these modern surfaces with traditional materials. Big armchairs and sofas in warm hues complete the entrance, lobby and bar area, where guests coming in off the slopes are received. Very close to the Piccolo San Bernardo, the Re delle Alpi hotel is waiting for guests in a very cozy lounge, a modern style area with a touch of Alpine environment. Studio D73 has renewed for the project the bar area, as well, and created a new porch: inside, the guests can have the idea of touching the mountains. The Ski Room has been redesigned too, being now more functional and comfortable.
