WHAT IS MAEGA? MAEGA is a local, all-volunteer nonprofit organization which raises money to award scholarships to Latino graduates of high schools in the San Dieguito Union High School District: Canyon Crest Academy, La Costa Canyon High School, San Dieguito Academy, Sunset High School, and Torrey Pines High School.
MAEGA SCHOLARSHIPS
MAEGA awarded a total of $78,800 for 2015-2016 — $57,200 will go to 52 new recipients! — $21,600 will renew 27 scholarships from last year. Next year, 79 students will achieve their dreams of attending college, thanks in part to MAEGA and our generous donors.
MAEGA’S MISSION The mission of MAEGA is to promote education beyond high school for San Dieguito Union High School District students of Latino heritage. We provide one year scholarships, which may be renewable if funds allow. Scholarships are awarded to deserving Latino high school seniors demonstrating financial needs and who will be attending certified vocational schools, community colleges, and universities.

After graduation, often these students return home and become leaders and role models for their successors. Making a positive change in someone’s life. A college education will help give students a head start in life and help provide a better future for themselves, family and our community. You can really make a difference!
