Smead Slide-by File Systems The practical alternative to traditional filing cabinets Smead Slide-by Filing Systems are an excellent solution for growing departmental filing systems where floor space is extremely limited. More than twice as many records can be filed in the same amount of floor space compared to lateral or vertical filing cabinets. By placing open shelving units on tracks, a row of shelving units can be placed directly in front of another row. Modular Deck Systems
Used for all compacting system and many slide-by systems, compliant tracking is mounted directly to the floor providing a low profile track to guide the mobile shelf units. Best when used on fairly level floors, compliant tracks are easily installed and follow the contour of the floor.
Slide-by mobile filing systems can be installed using modular deck tracking that corrects irregularities in floors, and are recommended for use in older buildings or where floors are very uneven.
A variety of compliant track options are available, depending on the type of shelving units considered and the characteristics of the floor. All use low profile, angled extrusions that do not hinder foot or cart traffic. Compliant tracks can be laid directly on any suitable surface, including concrete, commercial carpeting (without padding) or wood. Articulating wheel assemblies adjust to irregularities in the floor for smooth movement of file cabinets.
Compliant tracking for both compacting and slide-by mobile systems are easy to install and can be added to or relocated with minimal effort.
Modular deck systems use connecting components to create a raised base that all shelf units rest upon, both static and mobile. The base units connect to create a freestanding track system that does not damage floors or walls. Modular deck systems have deck mount anti-tip features and end stop components. Uniform deck connection provides easy rolling of carriages between each deck with effort-free movement.
Modular deck tracking ensures smooth gliding of mobile units on uneven floors. Free-standing construction does not damage floors.
