think of a playful world. of a magic land where lines converge in a single point to create form and color. lines so fine and strong that the image jumps at your eyes as soon as you lay eyes on peter’s work. | his drawings have the quality of the sculptor. they’re 3D images in a 2D dimension sheet of paper. | together they create a whimsical world where even a gun can be seen as innocent as bubble gum. his master lies in his understanding of unanimated objects, where their neutrality is lost only when we, humans, decide to interact with them.

there’s a subtlety that is hidden in peter scherrer’s works. he’s not your everyday abstract painter. there’s no hesitancy in his hand. nothing is smashed together and yet he juxtaposes form and color. | in a sense his work is a kaleidoscope of kinesthesia. there are hues and undertones that merge in a false sense of chaos, but where geometry and order prevail. | to gaze at his abstract work is to enter a landscape so far away from the mundane that it takes you to the antipodes of your own mind. | one must think before looking into his works, as it is hard to withdraw from such an idyllic world.
