Key trends for your AW21 wardrobe

Hi! I am so thrilled to be writing my first article as Fashion Editor for Rochdale Style Magazine. I have been working in the fashion industry for 4 years with experience in personal styling as well as owning my own retail store (Pretty Parade Boutique, Littleborough) and clothing brand (Sorelle The Label). The fashion industry is constantly moving forward and changing, so I am hoping these quick and simple ideas will result in a seamless transition into your autumn wardrobe.

Here are six key trends to follow for your AW21 wardrobe;

BRIGHT COLOURS are IN - They inject a much needed sense of energy and optimism into our daily lives. The key colour trends for this autumn/winter are blues, greens and reds. A pop of colour whether as an accessory, dress or a blazer will bring immediate zing to your look.

FLORALS are also here to stay. That’s right, get ready to welcome muted florals into your wardrobe for AW. Expect to see printed dresses, blouses and even headwear. A floral headband is the perfect way to introduce this trend into your AW wardrobe.

FUZZY - i.e the softest // fluffiest fabric you can imagine! You're probably thinking at this point, have I lost it... Nope (not yet anyway)! Fuzzy knitwear is a must for your AW wardrobe. The fashion gods have been listening to us. If you're an advocate for comfort this one is for you, whether it’s a cardigan or jumper make sure you jump on this trend.

OVERSIZED CARDIGANS are back once again and they are a MUST. If you had told me this time last year I would be a cardigan lover I would never have believed it. But I have well and truly fallen for this trend.

BOTTOMS are making a comeback - Dresses have been the biggest trend for sometime, and thankfully here to stay, however bottoms are coming back and a key piece for your AW wardrobe, especially a ‘good pair’ of jeans. Denim will forever be a favourite mainstay of a fashionable wardrobe.

PRINTS & SLOGANS are the perfect way to create your very own unique style. Choose a bright quirky print or perhaps a slogan that makes you smile or inspires you. A slogan tee or sweatshirt is an easy staple and will never go out of fashion. Perfect for everyday or dressing up for the weekend.
