Social distancing viewings at their best

M

any moons ago I changed careers and started selling office space in Cardiff, little did I know then that all these years later we would be rewriting the sales process to include social distancing viewings. Who would have thought we would be meeting and greeting potential clients without a handshake, that viewing a building and an office space would become something of a military operation. However this is what we do to keep our new clients and long standing clients safe. Social distancing viewings have now become the norm and to be honest I’ve gotten really good at them! From the minute our client steps into any of our buildings they need to feel safe, looked after, cared for and that is exactly what we do. So, for those of you who need to carry out any form of meet and greet during their daily routine, here are some tips to follow to make your visitors feel that during their visit with you their safety is paramount: 1. Email your visitor in advance with your social distancing plan for their visit. 2. Greet them with a smile, you can’t shake their hand, however positive and happy

Business columnist Tracey Holloway started her career as a buyer with Sony UK and appreciates all the disciplines that Sony taught her for the 20 years that she was with them. Moving on to be a buyer for British Airways to sample the tastes of the aviation industry, the role took her to many corners of the world for nearly 10 years. Now after 10 years at Office Space in Town Ltd and as Quality and Control Director for the past 4 years, Tracey feels settled and comfortable to share all her business experiences. body language will be better than a 1000 handshakes. 3. Walk your route ahead of the meeting so that your visitor feels your confidence from the start. 4. Explain why the social distancing stickers and signs are there and what they are for, it helps to break the ice if your visitor is nervous. 5. Point out hand sanitiser stations as you walk around. 6. Adhere to your own rules on social distancing, so your visitor knows you’re serious.

7. Keep up with the government changes so that you and your building are always relevant. 8. Enjoy the time you have with your visitor, as after all, we are still there to do a job never mind how things may have changed. To view an office, please call Tracey Holloway on 02920 221 022. BUSINESS TIP: Just because circumstances have changed your professionalism does not have to.
