Dan Locke – an Isle of Wight postman – has always been drawn to photography, and drawn to the Isle of Wight. After travelling the world (from Australia and Bali to Prague and Croatia) with partner Chloe and a camera in hand, the couple fell in love with the Island’s natural beauty and are now based here full time.
There is something special about Islands, Dan agrees. The couple recently visited friends in Scotland; here Dan shares a few of the stunning images captured which draw breath-taking parallels between the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Skye, some 700 miles north. “With the exception of Scotland’s humungous mountains, the rural landscapes and sense of isolation are very similar,” Dan says.
