Holiday Memories Like No Other

CITY NEWS

As we get ready to enjoy one of the most gorgeous months in the City Beautiful, let’s not forget about the fun-filled, spooktacular month of October! From terrifying haunted houses to eating way more candy than you’d ever admit, let’s take a look back at how Orlando came to life with a variety of fall and Halloween-inspired fun last month. Here are the highlights, just in case you missed it! On October 4th, beer enthusiasts experienced an energetic evening of beer exploration at Jake’s Beer Festival. Under the outdoor Wantilan Pavilion at Loews Royal Pacific Resort, attendees sampled 50+ different craft beers, hard seltzers and more from some of your favorite local and regional breweries including: Tactical Brewing Company (Orlando, FL), Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company (Orlando, FL), Crooked Can Brewing Company (Winter Garden, FL) and others. In addition to great beers and live entertainment, ticketholders could also enjoy an all-you-can-eat menu of foods expertly prepared just for Jake's Beer Festival such as grilled prawns, chicken & waffles, house-made pretzels, short ribs, vegetarian flatbread, ahi tuna and desserts.

The Food & Wine Classic returned from November 15-16 to the delight of all who’ve had the opportunity to attend this phenomenal event! Amidst the Disney Swan & Dolphin Resort's stunning scenery, this can'tmiss annual foodie event delivered an unforgettable night with live music, endless tastings from over 20 food stations, 100+ beverage options, and immersive themed areas like the lively beer garden and chic bubble lounge. Now in its 15th year, attendees of The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic delighted in gourmet cuisine from award-winning chefs, paired with fine wines, beers, and spirits from around the world. Set against the perfect backdrop of this beautiful resort, the packed event also offered live entertainment, seminars, and fireworks to complete the experience. It was “Cheers!” all around as the Taste of Space Marstini Shake-Off returned to Kennedy Space Center on October 4th. Attendees were invited to come taste the flavors of the season during this after-hours, special-ticketed event. Guests mixed and mingled with some of your favorite astronauts, Mike Mullane and Tony Antonelli while visiting several

food stations throughout Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex®. Local bars and restaurants who were also present crafted their own version of a "Marstini," competing to be named the best by the panel of judges who tasted each concoction and voted for their favorite. The winner of the top recipe received a trophy to proudly display in their establishment! On October 5th at The Abbey, Orlando had the opportunity to experience one of the largest pop-up live music and arts movements to hit North America over the past decade. Of course I’m talking about the Pancakes & Booze Art Show celebrating more than 10 years of serving free pancakes and introducing attendees to some of the nation's leading emerging talents! The LA based event originated in 2009 and has since popped up more than 500 times in 35+ cities around Europe & North America. It was an innovative reimagining of the art show concept. A welcoming vibe for up-and-coming artists and musicians to strut their stuff in a free verse, anything goes environment. Pancake batter sizzled, beer foamed and painted canvases lined the walls from floor to ceiling as more than 75 local artists strutted their stuff at Orlando’s decidedly unstuffy, no-wine-and-cheese, no-pretentions Underground Pop-Up Art Show. Feast on the 50 presented by SouthState Bank was a one-of-a-kind tailgate on the field at Camping World Stadium on October 10th featuring a night full of food, family and fun. Attendees enjoyed unlimited food and drink, provided by caterers and restaurants from around Orlando, while alumni clubs from partner schools in the Big Ten, SEC, ACC and Big 12 (as well as B-CU, FAMU, Rollins and UCF) competed for the most spirited tent in the Official Alumni Village presented by MCO. The event featured fun for fans of all ages in the Kids’ Zone presented by Fun Spot

America, complete with inflatable games, face painting and other exciting activities! All proceeds from the event’s silent auction benefitted K-8 educational efforts within the West Lakes communities near Camping World Stadium. College Park’s best night out returned on October 10th! Taste of College Park combines food, wine, beer, music, and an online/silent auction for an extraordinary evening open to all in or outside of the vibrant neighborhood’s community. A new, much larger venue, The Great Southern Box Co. Food Hall & Bar, meant more restaurants, more hand selected wines, more cold craft beers, more auction items and an even bigger 50/50 raffle pot this year! Tickets included food from nineteen of the best local restaurants from College Park and surrounding areas. It also included craft beers from Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company, and specially selected wines by Digress Wine! Leu Gardens invited the entire family and their lovable canines to join in the fun of Dog Day on October 12th. In addition to the opportunity to explore the 50-acre gardens, each pooch received a special goody bag with their very own Garden’s bandana. Attendees who arrived early discovered some great apparel, treats and toys at the Doggie Boutique open from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Those who wished to show off their pooch had the opportunity to enter 3 different contests: Best Dressed, Look-Alike, and Best Kisser. Winners all received an adorable pooch prize pack. The 14th Annual Asian Cultural Expo showcased the vibrant culture of Asia with performances, workshops and more at Bill Frederick Park. The free event held On October 12th included art and crafts vendors, food trucks, exhibitions and cultural demonstrations, music, and much more. Held alongside the Expo was the

Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival which featured dozens of competitors paddling colorful boats with dragon heads on the vessels’ bows. Drummers aboard the boats keep their crewmates paddling in unison. The races on the waters got underway at 8 a.m., with heat running every 10 minutes until the winning team was selected. Downtown Arts District celebrated the exciting return of the annual “Día de los Muertos & Monster Party” in Downtown Orlando on October 17th. Now, in its 15th year, the Día de los Muertos & Monster Party featured an Artist Opening Reception at CityArts Orlando that showcased two exhibits; Day of the Dead and Monster/ Halloween-inspired art created by regional, national, and international artists. Honoring the Mexican holiday, the Día de los Muertos themed exhibition also included traditional ofrendas and catrina dolls provided by Casa de Mexico, CABETCAL, and the Mexican Consulate of Orlando. The unique art exhibitions were paired with a street party on opening night where guests gathered outside CityArts Orlando on Pine Street to enjoy delicious food, drinks, entertainment and spooky art vendors. Visitors to the Orlando Science Center on October 26th got to experience the beloved center like never before at their exclusive Halloween event hosted by the Young Professionals for OSC and benefiting the Science Center! The adultsonly extravaganza, OSC After Dark, offered a chance to see the Science Center transformed for Halloween, all while enjoying a night of thrilling activities and grown-up fun. The all-inclusive event featured boo-zy beverages at their open bar, mouth-watering bites from local vendors, Karaoke, costume contests, crafting, live music, and so much more!

BALMAIN Spring-Summer 2025 Olivier Rousteing’s Bold Reflection of Modern Balmain By Josie NeJame I had the honor to attend the Balmain show at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris, where Olivier Rousteing’s stunning collection came to life in an unforgettable setting. Rousteing presented Balmain's highly anticipated Women’s Spring Summer25 collection—a striking reflection of the house’s rich heritage and its forward-looking vision. With the grandeur of the Théâtre National de Chaillot as the backdrop, Rousteing’s designs were a flawless tribute to the brand's past while signaling a bold leap into the future. For this SS25 season, Rousteing continues to build upon the distinctive design ethos that has defined Balmain since its inception in 1945. The collection draws inspiration from the extraordinary archives of the house, with a nod to the legendary ‘New French Style’ and the architectural brilliance of Pierre Balmain’s ‘Jolie Madame’ silhouette. But rather than focusing exclusively on the past, Rousteing taps into the codes and styles that he has developed since becoming creative director more than a decade ago. This collection feels intensely personal, bringing elements from his own wardrobe into the spotlight. Rousteing’s signature combination of black leather pants, high-shoulder jackets, and simple tank tops—an outfit he has worn countless times for both runway shows and press engagements—has now been reimagined as part of the daywear offerings. One of the standout aspects of the collection

is the embellishments. Rousteing has always had a fascination with intricate beading and embellishment, and this season, that obsession is on full display. Some of the photo-realistic creations used up to 500,000 beads, with one extraordinary piece even featuring a stunningly detailed likeness of Kylie Jenner’s face— testament to the artistry and precision that define each of Rousteing’s creations. The collection also remains true to Rousteing’s affinity for tailoring. Iconic elements such as powerful shoulders and angular hips remain, with new, cutting-edge adaptations of the maison’s signature silhouettes. The intricate cuts, structure, and craftsmanship continue to set Balmain apart, reinforcing the timeless elegance of Rousteing's vision. Rousteing’s love of stripes also made its way into the collection, seen on tweed and pearls, combined with chains, crystals, and mini dresses that emphasized the hips. A particular highlight was a pearl dress that pays homage to Pierre Balmain’s 1950s designs and his beloved 'Jolie Madame' silhouette. The runway showcased a palette of neutral tones—nude, beige, red, and black—highlighted by luxurious textures and fabrics. Accessories, too, played a major role in telling the story. This season, the jewelry took a bold turn, with bracelets, necklaces, and handbags crafted in the shape of perfume bottles. "Rousteing presented Balmain's highly anticipated Women’s Spring Summer 2025 collection—a striking reflection of the house’s rich heritage and its forwardlooking vision. With the grandeur of the Théâtre National de Chaillot as the backdrop, Rousteing’s designs were a flawless tribute to the brand's past while signaling a bold leap into the future." including the 1946 Vent Vert bottle, as well as Balmain Beauty’s Les Éternels collection. The connection between Balmain’s fashion and beauty was evident, with minimalist silk sheaths that mirrored the tones of the fragrance palette. The show reached its crescendo as Rousteing walked down the runway with arms raised to the beat of Lenny Kravitz's “Are You Gonna Go My Way.” Wearing black leather pants, a fierce high-shoulder pad jacket, and a simple tank top, Rousteing exuded pure joy and confidence as he took his final steps. This iconic combination of leather pants and a DB jacket, which he’s sported for over a decade, now forms part of the daywear offerings. Fashion, much like life, is ever evolving, but one thing remains constant: Olivier’s joyful, unshakeable fashion forward confidence. That’s the mood that permeates his collection—a celebration of both style and spirit. The strength of the Balmain Army and family is at the heart of this vision, bringing together a diverse community that continues to thrive with passion and unity. Fashion clearly hasn’t stolen his smile, nor has it stolen mine, but it might just steal my heart with my love for this house.

The ripple of

Gratitude By Maha Chaudhry

HEALTH

"Gratitude, she realized, wasn’t just a fleeting feeling; it was a powerful force, one that had transformed her mind, her body, and her spirit." My friend sat on her porch, the cool autumn air swirling around her as the sun dipped below the horizon. It had been a tough year—job pressures, family challenges, and a lingering sense of stress that clung to her every thought. She often found herself restless at night, tossing and turning, weighed down by anxiety. One evening, I mentioned a practice that had helped me through hard times— keeping a gratitude journal. I told her to write down three things she’s grateful for before bed for one week. I mentioned how it made a significant difference in my own life. Skeptical but curious, my friend decided to give it a shot. That night, she listed three small things: the warmth of her blanket, the sound of her favorite song on the radio, and the kindness of a stranger who held the door open for her at the store. As she closed the journal, she felt an unfamiliar calm settle over her. Over the next few days, my friend noticed a subtle shift in her mindset. Each night, she found new things to be grateful for—a good cup of coffee, the laugh of a friend, a walk in the park. To her surprise, the constant whirl of negative thoughts that kept her up at night began to quiet. After a week, her sleep improved by leaps and bounds. She woke up feeling more rested, her body refreshed and her mind at ease. It was as if the simple act of acknowledging the good in her life created space for peace. She also found herself handling stress differently. At work, when a tight deadline loomed, instead of spiraling into anxiety, she took a moment to breathe and remind herself of the progress she'd made. The gratitude journal had, without her realizing it, boosted her emotional resilience. She felt stronger, more equipped to navigate the challenges ahead.

morning coffee, a thoughtful text. In turn, he became more appreciative of her efforts, and their bond grew stronger. They laughed more, communicated better, and felt closer than they had in months. She reflected on her own health since starting her journal. Her persistent tension headaches had diminished, and even during stressful moments, she felt calmer, as if her body had learned to relax. According to a study published in Applied Psychology: Health and well-being, individuals who reflected on things they were grateful for before going to bed fell asleep faster, stayed asleep longer, and reported better overall sleep quality. In addition, a study published in the American Journal of Cardiology showed that grateful individuals had lower levels of inflammation, a key factor in heart disease. In fact, those who practiced gratitude had a 16% lower risk of heart disease. It was more than just mental—it was physical. Her heart felt lighter, her body less burdened. The gratitude practice had become her secret weapon, a simple ritual that rippled out into every part of her life. Months later, on a particularly quiet evening, she sat on her porch again, her journal resting in her lap. She smiled as she reflected on how far she'd come, all because she had chosen to focus on the good—even in the hardest of times. Gratitude, she realized, wasn’t just a fleeting feeling; it was a powerful force, one that had transformed her mind, her body, and her spirit. This story intertwines the mental, physical, and social benefits of gratitude, showing how one simple practice can have far-reaching positive effects on a person's life.

The ripple effect of her gratitude practice didn’t stop there. My friend noticed her relationships were changing, too. She started thanking her partner for the little things—a

“Gratitude and meditation are two powerful practices that can significantly enhance your mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. Together, they promote mindfulness, improve emotional regulation, and encourage a more positive perspective on life.” Gratitude and meditation are two powerful practices that can significantly enhance your mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. Together, they promote mindfulness, improve emotional regulation, and encourage a more positive perspective on life. In our fast-paced world, incorporating gratitude and meditation into daily routines has become even more essential to maintaining balance and cultivating happiness. Gratitude: A Pathway to Positivity Gratitude is the act of appreciating the good in life, both big and small. It shifts focus away from what is lacking to what is already present and fulfilling. Numerous studies have shown that practicing gratitude can have profound effects on mental health. When we actively recognize what we are thankful for, we experience an immediate boost in mood. Over time, it also helps reduce anxiety, depression, and feelings of isolation. By practicing gratitude, we train our brains to notice the positive aspects of life, which, in turn, encourages optimism. This mindset shift enables us to approach challenges with a more resilient attitude. Moreover, gratitude helps foster stronger social connections. Expressing appreciation strengthens relationships, deepens bonds, and promotes a sense of community. A daily gratitude practice can be as simple as writing down three things you’re thankful for, sending a message of thanks to someone, or reflecting on the positive moments in your day. The key is consistency—over time, it rewires the brain to be more attuned to the good things in life.

Meditation: A Gateway to Mindfulness Meditation is the practice of focusing the mind to achieve mental clarity, emotional calm, and a deeper connection with the present moment. Meditation helps reduce stress, improve concentration, and foster a greater sense of selfawareness. By regularly practicing meditation, we can gain better control over our thoughts and emotions, leading to more balanced reactions to life’s challenges. Meditation promotes mindfulness, which is the practice of being fully present in the moment. Mindfulness helps combat stress and anxiety by encouraging a non-judgmental awareness of thoughts and feelings. Instead of being overwhelmed by emotions, we learn to observe them with detachment, which can reduce their intensity. Moreover, meditation has been linked to numerous physical benefits, such as lowering blood pressure, reducing symptoms of insomnia, and enhancing immune function. The Synergy of Gratitude and Meditation When practiced together, gratitude and meditation can create a powerful synergy. Meditation enhances awareness and helps cultivate a mindful focus on the present, while gratitude fills that present moment with positivity. Together, they nurture a mindset that is both calm and appreciative, leading to greater emotional resilience and overall life satisfaction.

THE ULTIMATE

MIAMI TEMPTATIONS VACATION By Riesa Pascal

INDULGE IN WORLD-CLASS RELAXATION AND SIGNATURE DINING EXPERIENCES IN VIBRANT MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA It should come as no surprise to learn that there are literally hundreds of hotels in Miami with nearly 200 options just in the Miami Beach area alone! With so many spectacular resorts included in those numbers, the competition to stand out is increasingly fierce. As a result, many of these hotels have turned to their spa and dining offerings as a way to stand out from the rest which has led to Greater Miami & Miami Beach becoming home to some of the country’s best spas and MICHELIN Star restaurants and hotels. Thankfully, the GMCVB’s Miami Temptations Programs provide invaluable opportunities for locals and tourists alike to experience the best of this vibrant destination through special deals and exclusive offers. Though Miami Spa Month concluded officially in August, some resorts have extended their offerings including one of the fabulous properties I experienced for myself which you will read more about below. When it comes to Miami Spice Month however, you’re in for a treat as the popular discounted dining program is still actively running and will continue all the way until the end of September with three-course meals at top eateries for just $30/$35 for lunch/brunch and $45/$60 for dinner. Keep on reading to learn more about the various spa facilities and outstanding dining I experienced alongside several companions during an unforgettable weekend in the Magic City.

THE PALMS HOTEL & SPA Located in the heart of Miami Beach, the Palms Hotel & Spa is an award-winning sustainable wellness resort that places wellness and green practices at the center of each guest experience. Over its 14 year history as a premiere luxury wellness resort, the Palms Hotel & Spa has become a welcoming oasis of relaxation, sophistication and charm to its many visitors. Situated on its own stretch of beach with a mission to offer their guests a memorable experience of total well-being inspired by nature, it only makes sense that one of the many ways they achieve this is through therapeutic spa treatments offered at The Palms AVEDA Spa. Influenced by holistic Ayurvedic wellness rituals personalized for your well-being, The Palms AVEDA Spa invites guests to nurture their body, mind and soul with rejuvenating spa experiences. My own experience consisted of their popular

Intense Hydrating Facial. Highly remedial from beginning to end, this proved to be so much more than just a facial. My skin was positively transformed after the treatment which promises the restoration of your skin’s optimal moisture levels and a minimized appearance of fine, dry lines. Just when I thought the experience couldn’t get any better, my service was brought to a delightful close with a soothing, eyeenhancing masque and a chilled glass of prosecco. After such a fabulous treatment, the only thing better than being brought to that state of total relaxation is to continue the feelings of pleasure with an exquisite meal at Essensia Restaurant & Bar located on property. As a Green Globe certified property, it was no surprise to learn that the Palms Hotel & Spa carries their passion for sustainable tourism best practices into their dining experiences as well. Essensia provides a natural gourmet dining experience that embraces a farm-to-table

philosophy and offers a seasonal selection of global, wholesome cuisine made primarily with locally sourced ingredients – including an on-property Chef ’s Organic Garden. For my companions and I, Essensia was the first stop of several Miami Spice dining experiences that we would go on to enjoy over the course of our weekend together. Appetizer options came in the form of Grilled Florida Sun Shrimp, Gratitude Blue Oyster Mushroom Ceviche, and Local Red Snapper Crudo while entrees of Kimchi Turmeric Fried Rice, Za’atar Chicken Kebab, and Braised Short Ribs absolutely stole the show. And what’s a dinner without dessert? Still within the exceptional Miami Spice price of $60 per person, Essensia’s two dessert options of Passion Fruit Mousse and a decadent Chocolate Dome were a tasty conclusion to our unforgettable first night.

Featuring a supper club-like atmosphere reminiscent of the 1940s, the Matador Room tempts guests with innovative cuisine inspired by the flavors of South America, the Caribbean and Spain. Having been seated outside on their gorgeous terrace, we were surrounded on every side by lush vegetation and alluring smells that had my mouth watering and my taste buds ready to jump into another superb round of Miami Spice dining. At just $35, their Miami Spice Brunch offering was an absolute steal with appetizers of Avocado Toast or Vanilla Chia Bowl and Entrees of Eggs Benedict with Country Ham or BLT Taco with Roasted Tomatoes, House Cured Bacon and Arugula. Meanwhile, desserts like Torta Caprese, Turkish Rice Pudding or Lime Mint Tart are guaranteed to have you returning to Miami Spice at The Strand time and time again. Though Miami Spa Month deals were extended for some of the locations discussed above, each of these properties are guaranteed to still have many affordable ways to restore your vitality through powerful therapeutic treatments offered at their facilities. That being said, Miami Spice Month doesn’t officially conclude until the end of September so all the more reason to grab your friends, family or loved ones and head on down to Miami for dining experiences with a dash of spice. BALMAIN BEAUTY THE FUSION OF FASHION & FRAGRANCE

+ EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW A Dialogue on Craftsmanship, Sustainability, and the Future of Fragrance with Hans Dorsinville- SVP Global Creative, Balmain Beauty By Josie NeJame

In a world where fashion and fragrance seamlessly intertwine, Balmain has launched “Les Éternels de Balmain,” its first foray into the world of luxury beauty. This collection of eight gender-neutral eau de parfum honors both Pierre Balmain’s timeless Parisian heritage and Olivier Rousteing’s daring modern vision. After experiencing the collection firsthand at the first Balmain Beauty boutique in Paris, I’ve truly come to my senses—literally and figuratively. Among these captivating scents, I’ve found a new personal favorite: Rouge, an alluring fragrance that perfectly captures Balmain’s signature strength and elegance.

STYLET0ME.COM | 41

BEAUTY

As always, Olivier Rousteing has embedded his ethos of diversity and inclusion into this line. His vision of fashion and beauty being inseparable is clearly evident, as both tell a story about who we are. With Balmain Beauty, the aim is to celebrate all forms of beauty, encouraging everyone to embrace their individuality. Behind the scenes, Senior Vice President of Global Creative for Balmain Beauty, Hans Dorsinville, played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life with the Balmain Beauty team . Below I’ll be sharing an exclusive Q&A with Hans where we dive deeper into the creative process and the future of BALMAIN BEAUTY below. At the heart of “Les Éternels de Balmain” is the idea of personal expression. Rousteing has built a global following by reshaping Balmain’s identity around openness, and this fragrance line extends that vision into the realm of luxury beauty. Each scent is crafted as a reflection of self-discovery, inviting wearers to celebrate their unique identity through scent. The collection’s inclusive design reflects the brand’s desire to represent all forms of beauty, with no exceptions. Rousteing’s belief that beauty is about being authentic shines through, as he enthuses stated, “Balmain Beauty is about self-expression— having the confidence to be yourself, no matter who you are.”

The “Les Éternels de Balmain” collection draws inspiration from the brand’s archives, merging timeless French perfumery with modern design. With eight fragrances, each scent speaks to different aspects of identity, grouped into four olfactive families: Musk, Amber, Floral, and Woody. My favorite, Rouge, perfectly balances boldness and sophistication, offering an immersive olfactory experience. The collection’s meticulous craftsmanship extends to the packaging as well, with sleek, modern bottles designed with sustainability in mind. The line reflects Balmain’s commitment to environmental responsibility by reducing plastic use and introducing refillable options. This debut is just the beginning for Balmain Beauty. Hans Dorsinville hinted at even more exciting developments in the pipeline during our interview, sharing that the brand plans to explore additional beauty categories in the future. With its dedication to diversity and innovation, Balmain Beauty is set to make an enduring impact on both the beauty and fashion industries. For now, “Les Éternels de Balmain” is a remarkable introduction, blending heritage and modernity to invite all of us to find our own signature scent. For me, that discovery starts with Rouge.

BALMAIN BEAUTY IS ABOUT WELCOMING ALL BEAUTIES OF THE WORLD, WITH NO EXCEPTION. WITH LES ÉTERNELS, WE WANT ALL TO HAVE THE FREEDOM TO LIVE THEIR TRUTH, FREE AND POWERFUL.

A Dialogue on Craftsmanship, Sustainability, & the Future of Fragrance with Hans Dorsinville- SVP Global Creative, Balmain Beauty Q: The fragrance bottles have such a unique and luxurious design. Can you share the inspiration behind the bottle aesthetics and how it reflects Balmain’s brand identity?

Hans Dorsinville: The Les Éternels de Balmain collection is inspired by Balmain’s first timeless flacon created in 1946. Evolving from this shape, the square now becomes a lozenge, the Balmain signature rayure, inspired by early fragrance packaging, covers the glass, and a new finish and color palette flatters the touch and the eye. In the end, we wanted to create a bottle you would recognize with your eyes closed. Q. With sustainability in mind, what were some of the key design decisions made to minimize environmental impact while preserving the elegance of the packaging? And why this was a priority for Balmain beauty?

HD: Our bottles are refillable and recyclable, and we have cello-free packaging. We are committed to always doing better, solidifying our sustainability goals as we progress. We are so proud to have recently been awarded the Butterfly Mark, underscoring our dedication to meet higher standards for people and nature. 44 | STYLETOME.COM

BEAUTY

Q: The new interactive perfume stations in Balmain are a standout feature. What was your vision for this interactive station, and how does it balance technology with a personalized high touch service? HD: On September 26, we opened our first ever Balmain Beauty boutique, located in the Marais district of Paris. At the very heart of our store is what we call the Sense Portal, a tool to immerse yourself in a full discovery of the fragrances using all your senses. It lets you smell, but also touch, hear, see, and feel the eight fragrances. The Sense Portal allows you to experience the collection in your own terms and on your own time. I invite all your readers to stop by our boutique if they happen to be in Paris, we are located at 8 rue des Francs Bourgeois. Q: During the show, there were hints about exciting developments for Balmain Beauty. Can you share any teasers about what customers can expect in the near future? HD: For Olivier Rousteing, “Fashion cannot exist without beauty, and beauty cannot exist without fashion.” I thought the September 25 Spring-Summer 2025

womenswear presentation was clever, with elements of beauty peppered through the collection. Olivier took the shape of the bottle and applied it in the form of bags, heels of shoes, and jewelry. The shape even made it as a dress! Olivier also gave hints of how makeup plays a role in fashion. For us, fragrance becomes the first beauty chapter of a new book for the brand, to expand into new categories in the future to create a full world of beauty. Q: As you celebrate "all the beauties of the world," how does this philosophy inform your upcoming collections or initiatives? What trends in the beauty industry do you see influencing Balmain Beauty's future products and strategies? HD: Balmain Beauty is about welcoming all beauties of the world, with no exception. With Les Éternels, we want all to have the freedom to live their truth, free and powerful.

ALL ABOUT TEXTURE...

Nicolas Ghesquière’s Playful Textures and Lightweight Layers Make the Perfect Match for November’s Warmth As we transition into November, Florida’s weather still offers enough warmth for us to embrace some of the latest fashion trends. While the rest of the world gears up for chillier months, we can start applying these styles to our daily wardrobes right now. Nicolas Ghesquière, known for pushing the boundaries of fashion, recently presented his latest collection for Louis Vuitton, which perfectly showcases how textures and fluidity can play a pivotal role in redefining seasonal wear. One of the standout aspects of Ghesquière’s collection is his daring use of texture and lightness. For example, breeches paired with loose blouson jackets, or drop-waist ribbed knit dresses, bring both structure and softness to the forefront. These pieces are designed to feel alive, with materials like silk giving an airy, effortless feel—perfect for our milder climate. The challenge? Ghesquière wanted to create items that defy classification, blurring the lines between day and evening wear, while embellishments like cabochons add a rich, luxurious layer. For those of us in Florida, these breathable, flowing textures are a great match. Think of blouses or coats with the lightness of silk, which Ghesquière himself described as “very alive.” These pieces aren’t just about staying on trend— they’re about playing with how fabrics move and feel, making them ideal for the unpredictable autumn weather in Florida.

Another trend that’s easy to adopt now is Ghesquière’s modern twist on Renaissanceinspired fashion, like his unstructured jackets featuring celestial paintings by French artist Laurent Grasso. While jackets might seem more suited for colder climates, their relaxed fit and artistic flair make them perfect for layering over lighter outfits in Florida’s fall. These jackets also capture a timeless elegance while staying relevant, thanks to their contemporary pairings with biker shorts and chunky sandals, keeping things cool and comfortable. Ghesquière’s focus on fluidity extends to accessories as well. He aimed to create a “generational” bag—something that speaks to casual coolness rather than strict formality. This style brings together soft power and everyday ease, making it an ideal addition to our wardrobes as we blend fashion with comfort in Florida’s warm November air. In essence, even though the calendar says fall, the textures and lighter silhouettes of this collection mean we can already start embracing some of these key trends. Whether it’s a flowing, embellished blouse or a statement jacket, Ghesquière’s latest collection proves that fashion doesn’t have to wait for cooler weather—it’s all about how you play the game.

2024 Holiday Fashion

ACCESSORY TRENDS By Omayra Bella Annual holiday gatherings with family and friends may sound merry and bright, but with so many events to plan for, piecing together multiple holiday outfits is always exhausting for me. It is time to get serious about holiday dressing, as the party season is quickly approaching, so step out of your comfort zone and try something a little more daring, head-turning, and jaw dropping - whether it be a vivid color or my personal favorite choice, accessorizing. Red is a timeless color option for the holidays, so adding a dash of red with accessories can truly create an impact. Never undervalue the influence stylish accessories can have. I find that a powerful accessory may really elevate a well-curated ensemble. Sometimes it is just that one little touch, which is all that is needed to stand out from the rest. Accessories may be used to update your wardrobe staples and change the pieces you currently own into the newest fashion trends, whether it is a statement belt, a handbag in a certain hue, or a striking set of stylish glasses. All the Fall/Winter 2024 accessory trends fresh from the runways, from bold new handbag looks to the most unexpected shoe styles, are guaranteed to rock your wardrobe in the upcoming months. These Fall/Winter accessory trends are different from previous years’ more understated looks, so this holiday season, especially when it comes to accessories, it is time to go big or skip out on that holiday party. Riding Boots Across all our favorite luxury labels’

runways this season, riding boots were an unstoppable favorite for footwear. Riding boots adorned the catwalks in every imaginable shape, ranging from classic elegance to modern grunge, indicating a key trend that will dominate fall and winter wardrobe this season. They came out in sleek, chestnut-brown, buckled black, and over-the-knee styles. Clutch Style Bags The clutch bag is set to replace the popular shoulder bag style that ruled the runways the previous season. This is according to Fall/Winter 2024 accessory trends. Luxurious designers highlighted an extensive selection of clutch handbags that are ideal for any occasion or style, ranging from little clutches that can carry a lipstick or phone case, to roomy totesized purses. Bold Belts Although wide belts have been popular among celebrity style icons—many of whom contributed to the Y2K BohoChic renaissance—this season, designers have embraced the nostalgic yet timeless stylish trend. Double belts were one of the other Fall/Winter 2024 accessory trends, but the broad belt was the clear winner on the runway for looks that were effortlessly stylish and cinched in. Gloves This accessory commanded the runways, lending more dimension, visual intrigue, and color to outfits in completely unexpected yet extremely welcome ways. Styles ranged from long leather gloves to delicate voluminous gloves. This preference among the Fall/Winter 2024

accessory trends was not surprising, since gloves are a must-have item of apparel for the colder months and have recently been worn by all our favorite stylish celebs on the red carpet. Earrings Designers looked straight back decades for inspiration when creating the hottest accessory trends for Fall/Winter 2024, which ranged from big gold hoops to button-style earrings. Although delicate pearl drops and elegant hoops have been popular for the past several seasons, larger, more unusual forms have gained popularity this time around, particularly on the runways of top luxury labels. Keep in mind that accessories offer your appearance flair and allow you to show off your own sense of style. They add variety to your fashion looks. You can wear the same outfit repeatedly with different accessories, but it will always look and feel different since you have added new pieces and changed the overall appearance. The “touch” that makes the difference is that little added accessory. Discover your favorites; play around and have fun, but most importantly - be creative and see what you can come up with to express your own unique style. I like to go to different places in Central Florida to shop for my accessories, my top spots are Target, Mall at Millenia. ~ Omayra La Bella ™ www.omayralabella.net IG @omayralabella

STYLISH STROLLS Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2024 collection proves that even a casual dog walk can be a stylish affair. With playful yet luxurious pieces like denim jackets and bone-charm loafers, the collection brings high fashion to everyday moments. Whether you’re strolling in a chic dog crest shirt or accessorizing with Louis Vuitton’s designer dog gear, this lineup adds flair and elegance to any outing, turning a simple walk into a runway-worthy moment.

LOUIS VUITTON’S FALL COLLECTION Pharrell Williams took the helm of Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2024 menswear collection, introducing playful yet refined pieces inspired by man’s best friend. The collection was dotted with dog-related details, from Dalmatian-patterned shearling jackets to loafers adorned with bone charms. Williams also introduced a range of Louis Vuitton dog accessories, such as designer bowls, harnesses, and an eye-catching dog house, seamlessly blending fun elements with high-end fashion. Soft tones and luxurious textures balanced the whimsical details, ensuring the collection remained sophisticated and wearable. Alongside the canine motifs, oversized rosettes, dog crests on shirts, and even dog portrait bandanas were cleverly integrated into the lineup.

British menswear traditions were another key element in the collection, with sleeveless cricket jerseys, Fair Isle knits, and LV-branded argyle tailoring. Williams’ signature boot-cut silhouette appeared in denim looks, alongside contemporary streetwear pieces that added a modern edge to the classic styles. The collection fused playful aesthetics with a relaxed, dandy-inspired sophistication, making it adaptable for both everyday wear and standout looks. From the fun canine touches to the refined, soft palettes, Louis Vuitton’s latest offering captured the perfect balance of creativity, luxury, and timeless style.

CELEBRITY SOUP

ICONIC ACTORS WHO DIDN’T RETURN TO THEIR HORROR FRANCHISES GETTING THE SAME TALENT BACK IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA CAN BE HARDER THAN IT LOOKS! By Riesa Pascal

62 | STYLETOME.COM

CELEBRITY SOUP

Ever wonder what happens when iconic characters vanish from their own horror franchises? As spooky sequels and reboots dominate the box office, some familiar faces from our favorite eerie classics are noticeably absent. Whether it’s due to off-screen scandals, scheduling conflicts, or behind-the-scenes drama, several beloved characters have missed their long-awaited return to the big screen. Let’s take a closer look at some of the most surprising disappearances, and why these iconic roles were recast—or simply cut—from the latest fright fests. CHARLES DEETZ

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

How about we kick things off with one of the latest spooky sequels to grace our theater screens? Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was released in cinemas on September 6th, but fans of the original 1988 supernatural comedy were quick to notice that Jefferey Jones was missing from the star studded cast. Jones portrayed Charles Deetz, father to Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz and husband to Catherine O’Hara’s Delia Deetz. The 36-years-later sequel only featured Deetz as a ghost missing everything from the chest up. Considering the fact that Jones was arrested in 2002 for hiring a teenager to pose for explicit photographs and is now a registered sex offender, we can’t say we disagree with producers for making this call! DANI DENNISON

Hocus Pocus 2

One of the more child friendly franchises on our list is Hocus Pocus. The 1993 Halloween fantasy follows a teenage boy named Max and his little sister Dani who have to deal with a trio of resurrected witches. Decades later, the film is now considered a cult classic and a quintessential Halloween movie so it only makes sense that Disney would attempt to profit off of a sequel. However, scheduling conflicts kept Thora Birch from reprising her role as Dani Dennison in the 2022 sequel. Birch spoke of her disappointment in an interview with Entertainment Tonight saying she was dismayed about the fact that she was unable to make it. PINHEAD

Hellraiser: Revelations

One of the more longer running horror franchises on our list is Hellraiser. Pinhead, the lead cenobite of the franchise, was portrayed by Doug Bradles in not one, not two, but EIGHT consecutive films. It’s worth noting that many of them were low-

budget, direct-to-video sequels which no doubt played a factor in Bradley ultimately choosing to pass on reprising his role once the ninth film was put into development. Even after a personal plea from creative staff, Bradley still declined to return for more “cheap” sequels as he felt the script was weak and believed the film was only produced in order for them to retain the rights to the franchise. Pinhead was subsequently recast in the ninth and tenth films which were unsurprisingly both low points in the Hellraiser franchise. JASON VOORHEES

Freddy vs. Jason

Friday the 13th is more than just a movie. It is an American horror franchise that comprises twelve slasher films, a television series, novels, comic books, video games, and tie‑in merchandise. Needless to say, a franchise with that many films tends to require a lot of role reprising. Kane Hodder has played the hockey mask-wearing slasher Jason more times than anyone else, but he was ousted from 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason and replaced by Ken Kirzinger for what he claims to be unknown reasons. The story floating around the internet though is that director Ronny Yu wanted a greater height difference between the two villains which led to the recasting. TOMMY DOYLE

Halloween Kills

Before Paul Rudd was saving the world as the title character in Ant-Man, he was a young actor experiencing his film debut as an adult Tommy Doyle in 1995’s Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers—the sixth installment of the long-running Halloween series. Naturally Paul Rudd did a standout job so when Halloween Kills was in preproduction, Rudd was asked to reprise his role as adult Tommy. Unfortunately, Rudd was unable to accept the return to

the role due to scheduling conflicts with Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The new middleaged Tommy role was given to Anthony Michael Hall instead. STU MACHER

Scream 3

A sadder circumstance of an actor not reprising their role occurred with Stu Macher, portrayed by Matthew Lillard, who was intended to survive the original Scream and return in the franchise’s third installment. Macher’s plotline involved orchestrating the film’s mayhem from behind prison bars which would have partially involved getting high school students to do his dirty work for him on the outside. However, before filming could begin, the horrific Columbine High School shooting massacre occurred. The national tragedy that took place on April 20, 1999 was too similar to the film’s homicidal high schoolers plot which led to a massive reworking of the story and an unfortunate nixing of Lillard’s character’s reappearance. SIDNEY PRESCOTT

Scream VI

As integral as Stu Macher was to the original Scream, there is still one character who’s even more of an iconic member of the franchise. Sidney Prescott was the original protagonist of the first film, but was pretty much the only surviving character who didn’t return for 2023’s Scream VI. According to Neve Campbell who portrayed Prescott in the other five films, the reason for her absence simply came down to pay disputes. She spoke about her decision in an interview with People saying, “I did not feel that what I was being offered equated to the value that I bring to this franchise, and have brought to this franchise, for 25 years…and as a woman in this business, I think it’s really important for us to be valued and to fight to be valued.”

MCLAREN T H E

The new McLaren W1 is a ground-breaking successor to two of the most iconic supercars ever created—the McLaren F1 and McLaren P1. It represents the pinnacle of McLaren’s automotive expertise, pushing the boundaries of performance, design, and innovation. The W1 takes McLaren’s ‘1’ car lineage to new heights, showcasing the brand’s World Championship mindset in its most advanced supercar to date. At the heart of the McLaren W1 lies an allnew hybrid powertrain, blending an internal combustion engine with cutting-edge electric technology. The 4.0-liter MHP-8 V8 engine delivers a staggering 928PS, making it the most powerful engine McLaren has ever produced. With an electric motor contributing an additional 347PS, the W1’s combined power output reaches an extraordinary 1275PS. This power is channeled through McLaren’s signature rear-wheel drive, offering the ultimate in driving control and engagement. The W1’s V8 is an engineering marvel, with an output of 233PS per liter and an ability to rev to an astonishing 9,200rpm. This high-revving engine, combined with McLaren’s focus on lightweight engineering, results in a best-inclass power-to-weight ratio of 911PS per tonne. The hybrid powertrain allows the W1 to achieve breathtaking acceleration. The car can sprint from 0 to 200 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km/h. McLaren’s extensive experience in Formula 1 racing has clearly influenced the W1’s design, particularly its aerodynamics. The car features active aero components, including a revolutionary McLaren Active Long Tail rear wing that extends rearwards by up to 300mm, providing 1,000kg of downforce in track mode. This ground-breaking aerodynamic system allows the W1 to seamlessly transition from road to track performance, lowering the ride height and stiffening the suspension for a more aggressive, race-ready stance. In terms of driving dynamics, the W1 is equipped with McLaren’s Race Active Chassis Control III suspension system, which enhances both road comfort and track performance. The car’s Formula 1-inspired ground effect aerodynamics further improve its handling, making it the fastest-lapping McLaren on the company’s test track. The rear-wheel drive system, coupled with McLaren’s hydraulic performance steering, ensures a pure and exhilarating driving experience. McLaren’s commitment to lightweight engineering extends to the car’s structure. The W1 features a bespoke Aerocell carbon fiber monocoque and Formula 1-inspired front suspension. The use of 3D-printed titanium components optimizes weight and

performance, ensuring that the car remains nimble and responsive on both road and track. The W1’s interior is designed to create the perfect environment for the driver. The cockpit features a unique seating configuration integrated into the monocoque for a pure driver connection. Pedals, steering wheel, and primary controls are all adjustable to suit the driver, providing unmatched ergonomics and visibility. With only 399 units produced, and all allocated to customers, the McLaren W1 is a rare and exclusive supercar. Priced from £2.0 million, the W1 offers virtually unlimited personalization options through McLaren Special Operations (MSO), allowing owners to create a truly bespoke driving experience. In every sense, the McLaren W1 is a celebration of McLaren’s racing heritage and its relentless pursuit of automotive perfection. Combining advanced hybrid technology, Formula 1-inspired aerodynamics, and the purest driver engagement, the W1 is the ultimate expression of McLaren’s ethos—a supercar that is as exhilarating on the track as it is on the road.
