12:00 MOMENTUM

Now’s the time to observe the momentum, slowly.

What day is it today? Am I eating breakfast, lunch or dinner? Or did everything turn into a snack? Time seems to move different these days. Does it creep by slower or faster than it did before? Is it shifting more fragmented or continuously? One thing is for sure: time is changing because times are changing. We created a visual documentation of life during the COVID-19 pandemic, through the eyes of our community. To do so, we compressed 24 days into 24 hours and asked the people around us to capture their time in photographs. Documenting you and me in times of change. 24 days, in 24 photos, made on sequential hours. Shifting the hourly time per day, starting at noon and ending when we reached full circle. Every singular photo is part of a bigger picture. Every state of consciousness is part of a pattern, or rather a cyclus. To properly catch that, we disintegrated the astronomical day. You know, like an accordion. Or like a camera with an extended shutter speed. Or like a car crash in slow motion, watching the airbags slowly submerge from the dashboard. What’s there to see between the cracks? Consistency? Change? Acceleration? Nothing but random moments that are bound together solely by this project? Whatever way the time unfolds, together we lived, captured and shared our moments.
