Matera who joined the Club in 2021 to play alongside brother, Bailey Matera was pivotal to the success of the 2021 Premiership team. The Club would like to wish Brandon, his wife, Samantha, and their baby girl all the best for their future and look forward to hosting Brandon as a proud alum. A proud product of the Subiaco region, Kennedy grew up within the system as a Kalgoorlie representative. Playing through Colts and Reserves, Kennedy went on to play 91 League games for Subiaco, including the 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2021 Premierships. A Western Australian representative in 2018 and 21 Votes in Sandover Medal in the same year, Kennedy’s tenacity was felt throughout the league. A beloved clubman, a fierce defender and a valiant leader, Kennedy will be sorely missed within Subiaco and the WAFL. We wish him the best for future endeavours.
One of the most decorated Lions in club history, Delahunty hung up the boots after extracting everything from his body across 8 seasons in the WAFL.
The 31-year-old will depart the game having played 140 games for Subiaco in which he played in 7 Grand Finals, winning five of them, a Sandover Medal, and numerous State team representations. “It’s been a privilege to play so many years at this great football club and I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity to represent Subiaco,” Delahunty said. “Footy and the Subiaco Lions have given me so much and I’ve loved the journey. I’ve made lifelong friendships and learnt so much from champions like Kyal Horsley, Darren Rumble, and of course my best mate Kitch. In addition to mentors such as Schoey, Beau and all assistants. Subiaco has become my family this past decade and a place to call home. Thank you.” A monumental class on 2022, the Subiaco Football Club is greater thanks to your contributions.
