CLUBS & SOCIETIES STAR GRADING SCHEME Club or Society Name:
SUBU CLUBS & SOCIETIES STAR GRADING In order for your Club or Society to be the best, most active and engaging – SUBU have put together a set of guidelines to help you achieve 5 star status. All Clubs and Societies are automatically part of the star grading scheme, it is there to encourage and celebrate the hard work that you all undertake throughout the year.
All clubs start at 3* Status – and your status will be reviewed twice a year. Term one will be the autumn term (starting September) and term two will be the spring term (Starting in January). Your final star grade will be marked before the Activities Awards Evening, before Easter and carried forward to the next academic year, ready fro Freshers’ Fair! You should evidence your work, this could be in the form of photos, letters, certificates, invoices or similar and will be reviewed by a member of the Activities team once per term.
Every Club should be able to achieve 3 stars. If you drop below 3 stars, your club will become a ‘working towards 3 stars’ club.
BENEFITS OF BEING A 5 STAR CLUB! What are the benefits of being a 5 star graded Club or Society? For every star grade the benefits will increase and include things such as:
Gather evidence as you go along during the year as you complete these tasks, mark off the ‘criteria met’ box when complete, and make sure you can prove this has been met! Each term you will be required to bring your portfolio back in for review and supply evidence. If you do not complete all the essential criteria for a star level you will not maintain that level (e.g. if you were a 5* after term 1 but do not submit evidence for all the 5* criteria in term 2, you will not retain your 5* status).
Please come and talk to us in the Activities Department on the second floor of the Student Centre at Talbot Campus if you have any questions. We are happy to help!
