Activities Council Candidates Activities Executive Chair

Academic Societies Officer

Furat Aziz Having been largely involved with society events in the past year, as well as setting up the Film Society and working on the Activities Council last year as Arts & Performance Societies Officer, I feel that I have the necessary experience and selfmotivation to work to improve activities at Bournemouth University.

Agnė Bendaraviciute Arts, sports, cultural societies are amazing things that can completely change your University experience for the better. I was part of the Welcome Crew myself and I want to ensure that all of you take part in activities in some way.

Arts and Performance Activities Officer Seamus O’Dare I intend to unite students from both BU and AUB in collaborative and creative projects, utilising Bournemouth Universities reputation for the arts and performance, while pushing for more opportunities to showcase the Universities collective talent.

Activities Communications Executive Benjamin Bird I believe it’s important to improve how we communicate the extra curricular activities that SUBU has to offer, and open up new opportunities for as many students as possible to get involved. I know from first hand experience that taking part in these activities positively enhances the university experience.

Cultural Activities Officer James Ward-Gwilliam After three years of being involved in clubs and societies I would like to continue the great work done by my predecessors but also add to that, by working with the clubs and societies to help promote what the Danish call Hygge, “making university life even more relaxed and enjoyable”.

Misho Rusanov I am a passionate student, ready to give everything to the best of my ability to spread the word and make sure everyone knows all about the opportunities that the SUBU Activities Council has to offer. I will dedicate myself to ensure that my voice is heard by all.

Environmental Activities Officer Louis Sherman While at BU I’ve been involved in a variety of environmental roles from being a Green Ambassador to my involvement with the SUBU Green Taskforce as the Communications Officer. This position could help me work with SUBU and students even more to make BU as environmentally friendly as possible!

Rachel Macpherson I have a flair for being able to listen and discuss the wants and needs of those around me. It is my goal to make an individual’s time at university the best it can possibly be-through getting them involved in activities that will suit their needs and interests.

Political Campaigning Activities Officer Laura McKenna In this role, I want to work with students to ensure there is a diverse array of political campaigning groups available to students. It is my belief that students are not inherently apathetic to politics, and I know that BU students have the desire to effect change.

RAG Chair Abbie Spring I would love to be part of the RAG chair team because I am extremely passionate about helping and caring for other people! Throughout my time at BU I have been involved in many RAG events and think I can bring fun, passion and excitement to the role.

Amanda Sibley Adventure. Discovering friends. Making a humanitarian difference. I associate all of these with RAG. Having participated in a wide spectrum of activities and charity work, I’d like to think I embody the spirit of Bournemouth RAG. I want every student to feel they can have the lifechanging experiences RAG offers.

Special Interest Activities Officer Tim Buck Never forget, the special interest groups are a formidable force, they keep going. As I don’t own a wand, screwdriver, fight mythical beasts or have power level over 9000, yet, I could lead these groups. BU has an excellent special interest range and I want to expand and promote the current ones.

Justin Winfield Hello, I would like to represent the Special Interest societies. I aim to help these societies in assisting them in promotional campaigns and encouraging inter society events. I also want to assist societies in getting support for trips and events. Thank you and please vote.

Sports Activities Officer Wei-Che Lin Studying MSc Sport Management, I long to enhance sport activities of BU by claiming more grants and sponsorship. Indeed, I intend to popularize diverse and interesting sport activities to involve more students in sport, including hard-to-reach students. I will devote myself to encourage our cohort with tact and diplomacy.

Jack Hart I have involved myself in many sports over the years, however my main ones include Skiing, Sailing and Rugby and I’m currently the VP of the sailing team. As the Sports Activity Officer I would improve the communication and participation to all students to join the clubs and sports societies.
