There are orientation days and workshops to make sure you start your studies in the best possible way, and know where to go when you need support. There are also a range of daytime and evening events where you can relax and meet new people. All the events are listed here by date, with the time, venue and price (where applicable). This is the time to try something new and make the most of this amazing experience.

Bike Doctor

BU 02/02/16 9:00 - 17:00 Get your bike serviced free of charge with the Bike Doctor at the bike compound at Studland House Compound ground floor. Just take your bike and student ID card with you. Studland House Bike Compound, Lansdowne Free Labour is free, but you need to pay for replacement parts.

Refreshers Fair

SUBU 02/02/16 10:00 - 16:00 The Refreshers Fair is your chance to connect with some the great things on offer at BU. SUBU clubs, societies and activities teams will be there so you can sign up. Introduction to Mindfulness

Stonehenge and Bath Excursion SUBU/Discover Dorset 13/02/16 8.30 - 19.00 Visit Britain’s most visited ancient monument, and then in the afternoon we travel to Bath, a city so beautiful that it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Includes 1.5 hour walking tour, and free time to visit the Roman Baths or Fashion Museum (ticket price not included) or go shopping. The Old Fire Station is your Students’ Union nightclub.

It hosts a range of great events, from club nights to gigs and comedy shows. There really is something for everyone, and if you fancy it, you could even set up an event of your own. If you’ve got a birthday coming up, or a social or celebration, the Old Fire Station can help too. Just check out www.oldfirestation.co.uk for details.

International Orientation Day The International Orientation day is really important, there will be tours of the campus, talks on the support Bournemouth University has to offer, and a range of workshops for you to attend that will help you understand British culture and introduce you to the various activities you can get involved with from the University and the Students Union.
