FULL-TIME OFFICER UPDATES Since they came into office in June, your Full Time Officers have been working hard to improve the experience of every student here at Bournemouth University.

S

ince coming into the role Chloe Schendel-Wilson, SUBU President, has helped the clubs and societies of BU expand. She organised a ‘Lets Go’ Fair, a week allowing the societies to showcase themselves and recruit new members. In addition to this she has been working closely with the Green Task Force to ensure SUBU become more environmental in their work. During the first term, Ellie Mayo Ward, your VP Education, has assisted in the training of course reps. She also organised Speak Week, a week of events finding out what you the students think of how the University is run. Reece Pope, VP Welfare, signed a ‘Time to Change’ pledge in October. This shows SUBU and BU won’t discriminate against anyone who may have a mental health

issue. He has also been working hard to improve the bus services, as well as implementing the ‘safe space policy’. Finally at the Lansdowne Campus Peter Briant has helped improve the representation of Lansdowne Students. He has increased the number of Lansdowne students taking part in volunteering opportunities, and ensured placement support is on offer for HSC students. This is just some of the great work our Full Time Officers have done so far this year. You can get in touch with the Full-Time Officers on Twitter: @SubuPresident, @SubuEducation, @SUBULansdowne, @SUBUWelfare, Or come up and see them in the SUBU Office.

YOU SAID, THIS HAPPENED

On 20th November the second Student Shout of the year took place. It was great to see over one hundred students in attendance, something which meant we were ensured plenty of lively discussions later in the meeting. YOU SAID... "SUBU should run an awareness campaign on gossip magazines instead of banning them."

YOU SAID... "SUBU should petition for the removal of the NUS President and NUS Executive Officer due to their stance on ISIS."
