Refreshers Fair
Time to explore what opportunities and societies you can become involved with this semester and beyond. The SUBU Refreshers Fair is taking over the new Student Centre at Talbot Campus, as well as The Atrium and outdoors (weather permitting, of course. This is Britain). It’s free for all 18,000 BU students to peruse the 100+ clubs and societies which will be exhibiting, plus there’ll be local and national businesses on site too. Oh, and there’s music, food and drink. We know how to put on a good show.
It’s a great chance to speak to numerous clubs and societies simultaneously, see what SportBU can offer and explore volunteering and fundraising opportunities to work alongside your studies. From taking a cocktail masterclass to rolling up your sleeves in archaeology, to badminton training or joining a mountain hike abroad in the name of charity. How will you grow in 2016? Our Lansdowne Welcome Fair is an event for our new and existing students at our
Lansdowne campus, with the same opportunities to talk with clubs and societies as well as local and national businesses. Take the time to explore what you can up-skill in, a new hobby, a chance to extend your social network. What have you got to lose? There are not enough bikes availavable in the BU Bike Scheme, so not everybody who wants to take part is able to.
BU have made more bikes available in the scheme. To find out more about the BU Bike Scheme head to www.bournemouth.ac.uk
You wanted SUBU to lobby BU to have 20% of its accommodation under half of the maximum amount of maintenance loan and grant provided by SFE.
BU are now looking into the percentage of its affordable accommodation and will start looking into having accommodation which is truly affordable for students.
The library hours are not long enough and students need more access to these facilities at noth Talbot and Lansdowne Campuses
The libraries at Talbot and Lansdowne Campuses are now open until midnight on weekdays and have extended weekend hours.
It can be difficult to get a locker when you need one if you’re cycling to university
Your bike compound access now grants access to one-day lockers in Christchurch house, making it easier to access one when you need to.
