10 Reasons to Include Suburban Family - PRINT in Your “Advertising Mix” 1) Target a Dedicated “Local” Market Local magazines like Suburban Family serve as an important hub where local consumers learn about their surroundings and events they might like to get involved in. In other words, as a local business, you will get your ad in front of a passionate crowd that is already interested in who you are and what you have to offer. 2) Nothing Beats that “Leisurely Magazine” Experience Most online readers only scan a website ad for nano-seconds before moving on. People interact much differently with printed magazines. Magazine readers really take their time and linger when reading print. They also tend to fully interact with the content, especially the ads inside. 3) Only in Print: Ads are a Welcome Sight Unlike ads displayed in electronic media, print ads are actually a welcome sight! Readers love the fact that all of the information in a print ad is right in front of them versus having to expend the time to view a web ad to get to the information. 4) People Don’t Fear Print Ads Web surfers have become very wary of clicking on banner ads, even if those ads are enticing. But consumers have nothing to fear by reading your Suburban Family print ad, which makes them more open to receiving your message. 5) A Longer Shelf Life While digital ads come and go, print ads have staying power. In the case of Suburban Family Magazine, on average a single copy will be read by 3.18 people over our 2-month shelf life. 6) Brand Recognition that Leads to Brand Loyalty When you advertise in a Suburban Family Magazine, people instantly become familiar with your company. This recognition is reinforced when they view your business in other media forms, seek recommendations, or meet you or a representative in person. You are not only building brand recognition but also, brand loyalty. 7) Credibility Suburban Family Magazine is a highly valued and respected publication that has built a sense of community among Chicago suburban consumers (since 1999). In fact, many people turn to local Suburban Family as a trusted source of advice - 79% of our readers have read 2-3 issues out of the last 3 issues. Your business can greatly benefit from our credibility when your ad (and editorial) are viewed as a recommendation from a trusted source. 8) One Ad. Two Months Exposure: Print + Digital. One Great Rate! We don’t know of another publication that works as hard as SF to deliver the magazine experience in both Print and Online. And, our advertisers are the key reason for this. Unlike other magazines, the number one goal of our Online effort is to boost overall advertising results...for free! 9) “Online Only” Ad Campaigns are Missing Valuable Customers 53% or our readers prefer ONLY to read the Print version of Suburban Family. While 39% prefer to switch back and forth between Print and Online, with only 8% saying that they ONLY read SF Online. This means that an advertiser who relies solely on an Online campaign, is potentially missing out on a vast majority of Suburban Family readers, who will not see their advertising message. 10) The Power of Free and Highly Targeted Print It is thought that print media readership is in decline. To clarify, it is actually paid print that has lost readership. While, free print from highly targeted magazines like Suburban Family is alive and well. As a matter of fact, SF has recently experienced some of it’s largest advertiser participation levels ever! A big reason: Suburban Family’s “free” circulation strategy eliminates the “cost barrier to entry” for readers, which insures that your advertising message has 1) maximum reader exposure and 2) is readily accessible to affluent and active families...when they are ready to take action!
