Traffic light probe THE MicroTrade, a Taiwanese firm, that won the bid for the P 93.5 million traffic light upgrade of the city’s traffic light system snubbed the invitation of the city’s investigative team looking into the deal. City Councilor Roger Abaday, chair of the City’s Committee on Public Utilit y, felt slighted when the representatives of the MicroTrade firm did a “no-show” of the committee invitation on Wednesday. He said that the committee meeting was the first formal meeting that would supposedly look into the legality of awarding of the traffic light project since the two previous biddings called by the previous administration reportedly failed. “We were upset with the failure of the contractor to honor the committee invitation,” Abaday said.
