Briefly Oro losses CAGAYAN de Oro City Hall might have incurred potential losses amounting to more than P 120.6 million due to alleged financial mismanagement and lost bank accounts incurred by the previous administration, the Commissions on Audit here on Tuesday said. “The accuracy and correctness of general ledger Cash-in-Bank, Local Currency, Current & Savings Accounts and Time Deposits amounting P1,196.198 million as of December 31, 2012 could not be easily ascertained in the absence of Bank Reconciliation Statements Reports (BRS),” the COA’s state auditors noted. COA ‘s verification disclosed that the period of the latest BRS submitted for verification were August, 2012 for General Fund and Special Education Fund and April for the Trust Fund.

ITH less than two years to the economic integration of the 10 member-states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Philippines must do all it can to prepare or “be left behind” in a single-market regional economy starting in 2015.

Guesting at the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Davao Monday, July 15, Marcus Fragada, DENR-XI Regional Executive Director said he specifically requested that the SkyHigh drone project of the DENR be tested in the region. The drones could fly over remote forests and take pictures or images if they had detected illegal logging activities. Fragada said that the drones could confirm the earlier aerial reconnaissance undertaken by the Department i n p ar t n e r s h i p w i t h t h e Philippine Air Force.
