POEA: Jobs still available abroad

DESPITE the low demand for female applicants in South Korea, the Philippine O v e r s e a s E m p l oy m e nt Administration (POEA) said there are job opportunities overseas for both male and female workers in various countries. With more than 85,000 job of fer i ngs l i s te d i n preparation during Labor Day, it said that fema le applicants should not be discouraged from applying overseas. Meanwhile, President Benigno S. Importation of all live shrimps banned THE Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has suspended the processing of application to import all live shrimps and susceptible crustaceans indefinitely. In a statement, BFAR said this is to prevent Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) and other shrimp diseases from entering and spreading in the Philippines. BFAR draws its action from the recommendation done by Dr. Donald Lightner, a known shrimp disease expert.
