DOST-Caraga now accepts scholarship applications
URIGAO CITY – The City Health Office (CHO) is aiming at minimizing, if not totally eliminating the schistosomiasis in three barangays where the disease is prevalent.
Jessica I. Nepumoceno, communicable disease cluster coordinator at the CHO told MindaNews that to start the campaign, stool examinations will be conducted next month in said areas. Based on baseline study and stool examination results in past years, some residents of Barangays Luna, Capalayan and Nabago turned out positive of the parasitic disease. Last year, 25 of 125
persons found positive of schistosomiasis in Barangay Luna were given free medication. Four persons out of 147 persons in Barangay Capalayan were also given free medications, Nepumoceno said. DOH-Caraga up for ISO certification BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Caraga has adopted ISO 9001:2008, a model for setting up standards related to Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
Standardization, in compliance with international standards has become the goal of most government institutions, one them the DOH, which has been certified in 2012. Global competitiveness among nations has been ISO | page 11
BUTUAN CITY - The Department of Science and Technology (DOSTCaraga) is now accepting applicants to the 2014 DOST-SEI (Science Education Institute) Undergraduate Scholarships. The DOST undergraduate scholarship Program A, known as Republic Act 7687, is designed for poor but deserving students whose family’s combined gross annual income does not exceed P156,600. Those who have higher family income can apply under Merit Scholarship.
