UTUAN CITY – Pool of experts from Mindanao Daily News (MDN) have trained last Friday, June 28, 2013, government information officers (IOs) in Caraga Region on news writing, photojournalism and proper conduct of news conference.

In his speech delivered by PIA-Caraga Regional Operations Chief Nora Molde, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) 13 Director Abner Caga emphasized that as government information officers, there is a need for them to be regularly updated in order to deliver the news and information of their respective agencies to the public in an accurate, relevant and timely manner.

Surigao Norte joins celebration of 'Day of the Seafarers' By Susil D. Ragas

SURIGAO CITY -- The Surigao del Norte maritime industry stakeholders, led by the Marina Regional Office 13, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), joined the celebration of the Day of the Seafarer, June 25, this year. Bearing the theme, “Marinong Pilipino, Karangalan ka ng Mundo,” the activity was held at PPA Terminal, this city. The Day of the Seafarer was established by the International Maritime Organization and mandated under Presidential Proclamation No. 183 series of 2011declaring June 25 of every year as the Day of the Filipino Seafarer.
