ROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- Peace and security in the area of responsibility (AOR) of the Philippine Army’s 401st Brigade is gaining headway.
This, with the weakening of insurgent influence particularly in the province of Agusan del Sur, reported 401st Brigade Commander Gregory Cayetano during the recent Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting here. The influence of the Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army and National Democratic Front (CNN) in some areas have been lessened and some of their major hostile plans were pre-empted, he added. The report also stated, the CNN within the Brigade’s AOR have committed 647 non-violent
activities ranging from sightings, hostile plans, foraging, ideological, political and organizational (IPO) work, extortion harboring, movement, consolidation, food transport, meeting, recruitment, tech-in and encampment.
