SPORTS BITS Smallest entry is Best Fighter DAVAO City--The smallest fighter among the 14 entries won the Best Fighter award in the Smoker Fight Pre Qualifier held Saturday at the Maxima Resort and Aqua Fun in the Island Garden City of Samal. Diminutive Miel Generale, who only stands at 5 feet of the King’s Sword MMA Davao defeated 5-foot-4 Jelen Xavier of Tagum Nightmare MMA convincingly in their match also voted as the Best Fight among the seven bouts. Generale showed his impressive Muay Thai skills. Generale who only weighed 98 pounds, landed a perfect turnaround hook kick on the face of the 112-pounder Xavier at the end of the third round. Generale, also a Blackbelt in the American Bushido Karate Association, hit Xavier with solid kicks on the body before he also absorbed a right punch in FIGHTER | page 11

AVAO City--Authorities here are hunting down suspects who killed two robbery suspects while on their way from Mintal to the Hall of Justice for inquest proceedings last June 26. City police director Sr. Supt. Ronald dela Rosa said the police are still on their toes to trace the suspects including the Hi-Ace Van used in the ambush of the two robbery suspects. “Our intelligence operatives are still working for the solution of the case,” dela Rosa said in a phone interview.
