AS of 4 a.m. yesterday, the eye of Typhoon “PABLO” was located based on satellite and surface data at 700 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (06.6 °N, 132.9 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 24 kph. Surigao Del Sur and the Northern part of Davao Oriental will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. CAGAYAN de Oro City braces for ‘Typhoon Pablo’ as weather authorities raised Signal No. 2 past 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon. were placed under storm warning signal no. 3. These areas are expected to experience 101-185 kilometers per hour (kph) winds within the next 18 hours. SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur— Residents living in low-lying and landslide prone areas were told to evacuate yesterday as pre-emptive measure by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) after the province was already part of the seven areas in Mindanao under Signal Number 3 when super typhoon “Pablo” will hit the country today. Gov. Adolf Edward Plaza has issued a memorandum to 14 mayors of the province to designate evacuation centers for the residents that would be affected by the floods when the storm will hit Agusan del Sur. The province and neighboring provinces of Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norter,Dinagat, Siargao, Agusan del Norte and Davao Oriental have been placed under Storm Signal Number 3 as of 11 a.m. yesterday by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
