DAVAO CITY Mayor Sara Duterte has ordered the suspension of classes in kindergarten, elementary and high school on Monday as floods displaced some 30,000 residents. In Davao del Norte where a state of emergency has been declared, one person was reported missing. The City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) said 7,438 families or 29,193 persons had evacuated as of 3 p.m. Sunday when the Davao River overflowed. Emmanuel Jaldon, chief of the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC), told a press briefing at 2 p.m. Sunday that 12 barangays in classes | page 7
