Outgoing Cagayan de Oro Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Emano said he will be leaving the incoming administration of Mayor Oscar Moreno some P1.1-P1.3-billion for the City Hall funds after his term expires on June 30.
Emano said the city’s coffers at the moment has P1.1billion but this is expected to balloon to P1.3-billion following the collection of property taxes in the com-
ing days. He said he did not only rely on the Internal Revenue Allotment of the city for its funds but also on tax collection efforts which will result in the P1.3-billion available fund for the incoming new officials. Emano laughed off a newspaper story which reported that Mayor-elect Oscar Moreno claimed that the Emano administration collected taxes “pabor-pabor”. “We are in fact No. 10 nationwide in tax collection,” he said.
