CAGAYAN de Oro City Fighting for the welfare of women and the poor has always been the crusade of Rep. Rufus Rodriguez (2nd District, Cagayan de Oro), contrary to some mis-information being spread against him. Rep. Rodriguez has filed House Bill 5956 that grants favorable working conditions to mothers in the private sector for the purpose of attending to the personal care of their infants. Specifically, the Bill gives mothers additional
two months paid maternity leave aside from the current two. Further, the bill gives mothers the option to extend their leave for another two months, with security of job and tenure protected, so that mothers can maximize their exclusive breastfeeding period.
