Cops arrest firearm holders, shabu carriers By P/Supt. Ronnie Francis M. Cariaga

CAMP Alagar, Cagayan de Oro City – Operatives of Stations 4 and 5 of the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) have arrested, March 5, two persons in possession of one hand grenade, two caliber .45 pistols and sachets of ‘shabu’. Nabbed were Abu Sahid Dimala, with no specific address; and a 17-year old person, whose

identify is withheld. This, as P/Chief Supt. Catalino B. Rodriguez Jr., director of Police Regional Office (PRO-10), ordered the doubling of police operations following the killing of two policemen in Iligan City and even before the noise barrage staged by students of Xavier University.

He also ordered the deployment of 40 police officers each in the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan. The augmentation forces came from the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB). The move, he said, will also be effected in the provinces, as Holy Week approaches. cops /P5

Gun ban nets 5 firearms, 63 ammos By Rutchie C. Aguhob

OROQUIETA City - Five firearms and 63 ammunitions were confiscated by the Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office (MOPPO) relative to the implementation of the May 13, 2013 election gun ban, as of Feb. 22, this year.

This was reported during the recent meeting of the Joint Provincial Security Control Center (JPSCC) by P/Sr. Supt. Raul A. Benitez, MOPPO acting director. “Four of these firearms with 61 ammos were confiscated in Don Victoriano town, resulting

in the arrest of one person, while the other firearm with two ammos was confiscated in Tangub City, also resulting in the arrest of another person,” he said. The arrest in Don Victoriano was done during a joint operation gun /P5
