CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, June 20 (PNA) -– The city of Cagayan de Oro is eligible to receive support for the implementation of projects that will support the MillennIum Development Goals of the national government, the city council said on Thursday. The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) that implements the project under the Per-
formance Challenge Fund (PCF) projects wanted to forge a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the city government in order for the DILG to release funds for the purpose, City Vice Mayor Ian Acenas said. USM exec hurt in shooting

MATALAM, North Cotabato (MindaNews/— An official of the state-owned University of Southern Mindanao (USM) was wounded when an unidentified gunmen shot her while she was about to enter her house at Uyanguren Street here, around 6:15 p.m. Sunday, a police official said. `Senior Inspector Elias Dandan, chief of Matalam police, identified the victim as Dr. Cynthia Alpas, head of the USM’s human resource management office. Dandan said the victim had just alighted from her car when the assailant shot her in the back with a .45 caliber pistol. The gunman was about to shoot her again but the presence of some bystanders prevented him from doing so. He then boarded a motorcycle parked near the victim’s house where a companion was waiting for him, Dandan said. shooting | page 11
