MALAYBALAY CITY - Bukidnon, the largest province in Region 10, which ranks as eighth largest in the entire country, is geographically a landlocked plateau at the

center of Northern Mindanao. The province was able to reforest 19,925 hectares of its 1,049,859 hectares land area. Some 380,332.75 hectares or 36.23% of the province’s land area is ‘Alienable and Disposable.’ Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO)-DENR Forester Felix S. Mirasol, Jr. PHD, stated in his Accomplishement Report during the Provincial Government of Bukidnon’s Monday Convocation on June 3, 2013 at Kaamulan Open Theater, Malaybalay City. Dr. Mirasol emphasized the importance that this province should maximize its efforts in planting and growing trees to comply with the mandate of the National Greening Program (NGP) that 1.5 billion trees should be planted in 1.5 million hectares of lands of the public domain for a period of six (6) years from CY 2011 to CY 2016.
