Township is set to break ground anytime soon in Sta. Ana, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
In a press briefing Wednesday, RGJ Realty Corporation President Lawyer Chembelyn Balucan said they are just adjusting the schedule to allow President BongBong Marcos himself as the guest of honor in the groundbreaking ceremony.
Balucan said RGJ Realty Corp has already underwent all the requirements prior to the groundbreaking, including barangay consultations and the engineering and geological hazard assessment report which is a prerequisite for the issuance of an environmental compliance certificate (ECC).
Valley View Township sits on a 14-hectare property in Sta. Ana, Tagoloan. Once completed, it boasts of 25 high rises at 13 storeys each consisting of uniform low cost residential units at 24 square meters each. The first level of the buildings is dedicated to commercial tenants.
Vice President forn Marketing Ritchie Salloman said RGJ Realty Corporation is
focused on vertical housing development as this is the trend in Southeast Asia nowadays. “We will be at par with our neighbors like Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore,” Salloman said.
And affordable housing is a priority of the Marcos administration, he added.
Along this line, RGJ Realty Corporation is dedicating the first phase
of Valley View Township to socialized housing. In fact, it has already inked a deal with Social Finance Housing Corporation for the matter.
“The first phase of the project will be for workers of Phividec locators, and for the residents of Tagoloan and Villanueva towns,” Salloman said, referring to Phividec Indus -
trial Authority and the two municipalities of Misamis Oriental adjacent to each other.
Once completed, Valley View Township will have a total of 10,400 units available. Amenities to be constructed include swimming pools, clubhouse, convenience stores, fitness gym, ample parking space and a chapel.
MANILA – Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer has bagged a service agreement to provide support for the Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) fleet of six A-29 "Super Tucano" attack aircraft.
"Staying close to our customers and supporting them in their missions is core to what we do,” Rinaldo Piubeli Prado, vice president of Worldwide Defense & Security Customer Support & Aftermarket Sales of Embraer Services Support, said in a statement Wednesday.
This agreement will provide support for "more than 200-part numbers" of the Super Tucano aircraft in PAF service.
“Leveraging on our customer support team in Asia Pacific, we are honored to support the PAF as they deploy the A-29 and utilize it to its fullest potential,"
Prado said.
The PAF's six A-29 attack aircraft were delivered in 2020 at the height of the pandemic.
Four of the aircraft arrived on Sept. 19, 2020, and the remaining two on Oct. 1 of the same year.
The "Super Tucano" is a turboprop aircraft designed
for light attack, counterinsurgency, close air support, and aerial reconnaissance missions in low-threat environments, as well as providing pilot training.
The contract for the PAF's six A-29s was worth PHP4.97 billion and was issued in late 2017.

MANILA – Rains will prevail across Luzon and Eastern Visayas due to the northeast monsoon and the shear line, the weather bureau said Wednesday.
The shear line will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Sorsogon, Masbate, and Eastern Visayas.
These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.
Rains caused by the northeast monsoon will prevail over Cagayan Valley, the rest of Bicol Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro.
Flash floods or landslides are also possible in these areas due to moderate with at times heavy rains.
The northeast monsoon will also cause light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, but no significant impact is expected, according to PAGASA.
The rest of the country, on the other hand, will
have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the whole country will still experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.
Rough to very rough seas are forecast over the northern, western, and eastern seaboards of Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of the Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small vessels not to venture into the sea, and alerted larger sea vessels against big waves.

SOMEONE once said that an investment in knowledge pays the best interest.
It’s the reason that every Filipino parent’s dream is to bequeath his or her children a good education.
I very much agree with this.
I’ve always believed in the potential of the Filipino. Filipinos, as we all know, are indeed among the most highly skilled, adaptable, resilient and smartest people in the world.
Imagine how much more an ordinary Filipino can achieve if given the opportunity of a great education, especially those from the underprivileged or marginalized sectors?
The education sector has undergone significant changes in the last decade. It has also evolved rapidly with the changes taking place in the digital world. Today, you would find most of the schools and universities using
According to reports, the Hongkong-based fashion model was a pretty damned good mother of four kids. She doesn't deserve to suffer that much - in as far as her tragic death is concerned. The suspects allegedly chopped her into pieces using an electric chainsaw and meat grinder. Worst of all, some of her body parts were reportedly cooked by the psychopath.
On February 21, the 28-year-old socialite went missing. Efforts to find her by her immediate relatives proved futile, so the family decided to get help from police authorities in Hongkong.
Alan Chung, chief of the police tracker team, told the media that their massive investigation has led to the Kwong Family as the main culprits in the gruesome murder of the socialite Abby Choi.
DISCOVERY
The remains of Choi were finally found by the tracker team investigating the case and the hapless victim was already cut into pieces.
The Hongkong's media community has tagged the deadly killing of Choi as the "chop chop lady of Hongkong," the first time that the police found the parts inside a refrigerator.
R.A.
Abby ChoiThe chopped body parts of socialite and model Abby Choi were found in a rented apartment of the victim's former father-in-law, the Hong Kong police reported.
The victim went missing a few weeks ago which ignited the immediate kins to report the incident to the Hongkong police.
According to police investigators their investigation led to the former family of the victim as the main culprits, who allegedly killed Choi, chopped her body parts and cooked her skull.
On February 24, this year, the police raided an apartment and found Choi's dismembered body parts placed in a refrigerator. The police also found Choi's ID card, credit cards and other belongings of the victim.
The raiding team also found a meat grinder, a chainsaw, gloves, masks believed used by the suspects. They also found two pots reportedly used by the suspects who cooked some of the body parts including the skull of Abby Choi.
According to the ongoing investigation, the social media influencer and trend setter was last seen on February 21, 2023.

digital aids in classrooms. By incorporating technology into K-12 education model, institutes are aiming to improve the teaching and learning processes in schools and universities.
The reason why K-12 is given so much importance is because these are the formative years where students are encouraged to think out of the box, learn to analyze and solve problems, make decisions and come up with innovative ideas.
In order to empower them to do so, we need more engaging teaching aids than just an instructor-led classroom. Innovative methods are being sought out to help students excel and achieve overall development. That is how technological innovations made their way into classrooms; to help students develop a deeper understanding of subjects and improve the learning experience.

Let there be no mistake on the very essence of cooperativism that we are now advancing otherwise we are no better than the neo-liberal capitalists whose development paradigm can be likened to the workings of an auto-immune disease syndrome (AIDS), where no less than the body’s defense mechanisms are attacking the vital organs. Let notice be served to one and all that we in the cooperative movement are firmly adhering to the United Nations’ definition as the full development of human potentials, the expansion of choices and opportunities. That for development to be so, it must pass a three-way test: First, is it ecologically sustainable? This means it does not harm the environment but instead nurtures it; Second, does it benefit the people? This means, responsive to their needs; and Third, does it have people’s participation? Unless all of the three criteria are satisfied, no development can take place, only mal-development or development

It is quite puzzling that so much has been said about development, yet, we have totally destroyed the ecosystems and left the ecological people wallowing in poverty. It is even a glaring paradox that we talk of agricultural development, yet, our country is still not selfsufficient even on basic staples like rice and milk. Yes, everyone is profiting from farming except the farmers. The IMF-World Bank spoke of development before, toppling down the forest to give way to Chico River Dam in the Mountain Province despite the serious resistance from the Ifugaos led by Macling Dulag. It was then the time when projects were just rammed down the throats of the populace and no amount of protest could stop such outpourings what had been described then as development aggressions. That name was again invoked in putting-up the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant that cost the country more than two and half
billion dollars, when the price should only be a billion or so. For interest alone, the Philippine government is paying an amount yearly bigger than the annual budget of the health department for a mega project that had not at all produced even a single watt of electricity as it was established in an earthquake-fault area. What a tragedy in a country that cannot even put-up a hospital for the Indigenous People who are dying early for not knowing what an antibiotic means! It was the height of the travesty, a Trojan horse that has sucked the nation dry of its economic blood burying us in heavy foreign debt that even the new born must pay for something that has not

If I only knew how! A friend of mine contacted me yesterday. Another said, "This is hardly the time to do so." Understandable, if I consider his very personal situation. Anyway, it seems we have no more time and no reason for laughter. That can wait until tomorrow or better until the day after tomorrow. Anticipation is better... .
Ask yourself: Are you still in a laughing mood? Maybe you are just ready to give a forced and embarrassed laugh. Sure, if we look around the whole globe, we must indeed ask the question: What's so funny about it? Refugee problems - mostly in Europe nowadays? War and killings all over the world?
Roar with laughter? Our enemies laugh up their sleeves, and most of the time we miss to recognize the fortune still smiling at us. But hold on: he who laughs last laughs longest. Remember?
American neurologist
Henri Rubenstein says, laughter lowers high blood
pressure while aiding digestion and fostering sleep. Well, give me even a simple smile and believe in what experts say: "Good humor can help the gravely or terminally ill to hear their ordeal".
Of course, if we look around us these days, we might really not roar with laughter or split our sides laughing. Or even more than this! Have you heard about the incident at the Danish Imperial Theatre in Copenhagen/Denmark sometime during the 1980s, when a spectator died of a heart attack while watching the movie "A Fish Called Wanda" starring John Cheese of my favorite Great Britain's Monty Python Comedy Team? Sure, a heart attack is indeed not funny, and honestly, I still love to watch this movie on VHS.
Well, even if we think we don't have reasons to laugh,we should try to express mirth spontaneously, and we should try to be merry or gay. We still have reasons to start with the softest form of audible
laughter - the vocalized smile. This is what I learned and experienced from the first moment on while travelling in Asia since 1978, and being an expat living in the Philippines since 1999 for good. Keep smiling - even you are overloaded with huge problems.
Experts also say good humor works because it helps people feel easier in mind. The French psychotherapist Sylvie Tenenbaum stressed that, in her patients, laughter often signals the dawning of a wholesome awakening to reality. Gallow humor might be dubious in the eyes of others. But try to sing out loud, try to cry, but try to laugh!
As a devout Christian I love reading the bible. Ecclessiastes 3:1-4 say: "There is a time for everything ... a time to be born and a time to die ,,, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh!"

MANILA – An executive of Mega Prime Food Inc. (MPFI) targets around 18 percent rise in sales this year, sustaining its increase in the last five year, due in part to wider distribution channels and increased production.
In an interview during the inauguration of the company’s PHP1-billion state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Santo Tomas town, Batangas province on Wednesday, MPFI chief growth and development officer Marvin Tiu-Lim said they also aim to increase their product selection and beef-up their sales and distribution team to further boost sales.
“We intend to making sure that our products are more accessible to more and more Filipinos,” he
said. To date, the newlyinaugurated manufacturing plant produces around 300,000 cans per day since it has one operational canning line that is operating.
Tiu-Lim said they will add two more lines this year to eventually increase the daily production to around 900,000.
He said this will greatly boost the 2.4 million daily production of their manufacturing plants in Zamboanga.
However, Tiu-Lim said “this is just the capacity” of the manufacturing plants.
“This depends on the fish catch,” he said, citing the supply issues for Tamban (sardines) the company faced in 2022 due to the impact of La Niña.
Tiu-Lim said fishing season resumes on Thursday after the regular close fishing season from Nov. 30 to March 1.
“We’re hoping that this season will be good and fish will be abundant so we can lower the price and
MANILA – The local bourse’s main gauge rose anew on Thursday amidst investors’ wait-and-see stance for new economic data but the peso finished the day little changed against the greenback.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose by 0.23 percent, or 15.32 points, to 6,622.45 points.
All Shares also inched up by 0.28 percent, or 9.82 points, to 3,549.18 points.
Advancers led decliners at 96 to 86 while 58 shares were unchanged.
Luis Limlingan, Regina Capital Development Corporation (RCDC) head of sales, said local equities “inched up slightly as investors mull over the upcoming economic data here at home.”
SALES GROWTH. Mega Prime Food Inc. (MPFI) chief growth and development officer Marvin Tiu-Lim targets an 18-percent sales growth this year, sustaining the expansion in the last five years. Tiu-Lim traced his optimism to additional distribution following the opening of its new manufacturing plant in Santo Tomas, Batangas, as well as the bid to beef up the company's sales team to have more people who will go to grassroots, such as the sari-sari (variety) stores. (Photo by Joann S. Villanueva)
Most of the sectoral indices also posted increases namely Mining and Oil, 1.16 percent; Property, 1.02 percent; Services, 0.35 percent; Industrial, 0.06 percent; and Holding Firms, 0.007 percent.
Only the Financial index ended the day in the negative territory after it slipped by 0.26 percent.
Volume reached 1.36 billion shares amounting to PHP7.07 billion.
“In the US, equities struggled to rebound following a losing month and bond yields resume(d) to advance,” he said.
Prices of oil rose “as signs of ample supply, including growing US crude inventories, offset growing hopes for higher demand after a jump in manufacturing in China.”
He said Brent crude prices went up by 1 percent to USD 84.31 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by 0.8 percent to USD77.69 per barrel.
from page 6
Meanwhile, the peso ended the day sideways against the US dollar at 55.01 from day-ago’s 54.98.
It opened the day at 54.86, way better than its 55.3 start in the previous session.
It traded between 55.16 and 54.825, resulting in an average of 54.984.
Volume rose to USD1.28 billion from the previous session’s USD1.03 billion.
Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) chief economist Michael Ricafort traced the peso’s correction partly to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) statement regarding its readiness to use available policy tools to help stabilize the elevated inflation rate.
Other factors expected to have contributed to the peso-US dollar trading during the day include the improvement of the PSEi, the upward correction of the greenback following continued hawkish statements from Federal Reserve officials and softer US construction spending.
The currency pair is expected to trade between 54.90-55.10 on Friday.

Fake text messages, social media posts on social pension for seniors
Meanwhile, the DSWD reiterated its public warning against spam text messages and social media posts saying that ‘all’ senior citizens will receive a monthly pension worth PHP1,000 from the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) starting in March 2023, when they register online.”
In a separate release, the DSWD informed the public that ‘registration’ is not required to become beneficiaries of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens, and the DSWD has no schedule yet for the release of the additional PHP 500 since the budget is not yet available.
The Department further appealed to the public to remain vigilant and to refrain from entertaining text messages from unknown individuals and sharing unverified social media content to avoid confusion as the NCSC clarified that the said message did not emanate from the Commission and that its content is untruthful.
The DSWD also clarified that the distribution of the monthly Social Pension stipend of PHP500 for indigent senior citizens is still being implemented by the Department, pending the full transfer of the Social Pension

at all benefit the country. But we need not look far to see how the word is mangled beyond recognition. The loggers have decimated our forests, industries have treated the bays as their waste pits, costly agricultural technologies tied up to use of heavy chemicals promoted, mangroves destroyed to give way to structures - all done in the name of DEVELOPMENT! All these speak well of development aggressions that must be rectified by the present dispensation whose amazing leader, PresBBm is pro-poor and is trailblazing a sustainable kind of development which is not only socially inclusive and in harmony with nature but more so, with good governance.
Before the rectification process, it behooves upon all of us to re-examine what really is the essence of development and to define what it is not. It is not just providing for basic necessities such as food, shelter or clothing – even those in prisons have those. It is not increases in Gross National Products as such may have just made a few elite richer at the expense of the many wallowing in dire poverty.
Still in the dark on the essence of development?
If you are a member of a cooperative, REJOICE!
You are highly adhering to the time-honored and universally-accepted cooperative principles and practices which are now the countervailing force to stop development aggressions. Indeed, be transformative for people, planet, prosperity and peace – all for the greater Glory of God!

The PHP427.67 million outlay was primarily intended for the energization in the remote communities through the Barangay Line Enhancement Program and Sitio Electrification Program.
“It will look into the reasonableness of the cost of materials, labor and contracts whether the projects were implemented in accordance with the specifications and prescribed timelines and if Norsamelco’s monitoring system is also in place and operational,” the provincial government stated.
Meanwhile, auditors will also investigate the power cooperative’s rates, whether the charges to memberconsumers are just and reasonable, in compliance with the policies of regulatory agencies.
Earlier, the provincial government invited Norsamelco to attend one of the sessions of the provincial board to shed light on high power rates, power outages and other related concerns in the province.
The high-power rates, according to an earlier statement from Norsamelco, are largely influenced by an existing contract with a service provider that offers high power charges.
Power disruptions were caused by vegetation getting in the way of distribution lines, maintenance operations, and power shutdowns by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines.
As of the end of 2021, Norsamelco has 73,013 power consumers in 24 Northern Samar towns. (PNA)

COTABATO CITY
- For the first time in history, the Local Government of Pualas in Lanao del Sur showcased the beauty of the town and its people with the festive “Pagana for Peace and Development” on Tuesday, February 28.
Mayor Tenney Ducol said the celebratory activity which featured newly constructed floating cottages and “dolang”, is in recognition and importance to the wealth of Pualas people, Lake Dapao.
“The priority of the new Pualas administration is to further enrich and value the preservation of Lake Dapao,” Mayor Ducol said.
The mayor added Makabagong Pualas aims to continue significant programs that will pave the way for a more peaceful and prosperous town.
“We can only achieve the said goal with the help of everyone in our community,” he emphasized.
Furthermore, Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) chairperson
Secretary Maria Belen Acosta was invited as special guest where she personally experienced the beauty of Pualas and the hospitality of its people.
The people of Pualas warmly welcomed MinDA and its partner fundingagency, the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
During the visit, three projects scored a nod from MinDA and DPB: 1) the water system project
that would benefit the 14 barangays; 2) installation of ATM machines; and 3) the Lake Dapao Ecotourism Masterplan.
“I am expressing my full support to the local government, headed by Mayor Amanoden "Tenny" Ducol, Vice-Mayor Dialaloden Maruhom, and its Makabagong Pualas brand of leadership,”
Secretary Acosta said.
They were also joined by First Lady Nordjiana Lucman Dipatu-an Ducol who is the general manager of LASURECO, various ministries and agencies in the province along with the army and police force.
Meanwhile, Lake Dapao is a deep-water lake located in the province of Lanao del Sur, southwest of Lake Lanao. It is one of the deepest lakes in the country, reaching a maximum depth of 120 meters (390 ft) and has an estimated surface area of 1,011 hectares (10.11 km2).
