Albula travel-experience train The Albula Railway Museum revives many a fond memory. As part of the opening celebrations, a «Crocodile» locomotive dating from 1926 will set off at the head of the special Albula im Schlepptau train. Bahnerlebnisweg Der Bahnerlebnisweg führt von Preda nach Bergün, hautnah an den Kunstbauten der Rhätischen Bahn, Teilstück der UNESCO Welterbestrecke, vorbei. An markanten Punkten erläutern Schautafeln den Bau und Streckenverlauf der Bahnlinie, und Fahrpläne informieren Sie über die Vorbeifahrt des nächsten Zuges. Geplant ist zudem, den heutigen Bahnlehrpfad zu einem Bahnerlebnisweg bis nach Filisur auszubauen. Dies geschieht im Rahmen der Erlebnisinszenierung des neu entstehenden Bahnmuseum Albula.

Railway-experience route The railway trail takes you from Preda to Bergün, right by the construction works that form the heart of the Rhaetian Railway and its UNESCO World Heritage line. There are information boards and maps at key points along the way to explain the route followed by the track and keep you informed of when the next train is due. The plan is to enhance the existing historical trail, and extend the experience route as far as Filisur. Two-viaduct hike The hike takes you from Filisur to the Landwasser Viaduct, over the Wiesner Viaduct and onward to the station at Wiesen. This is a classic hike for all to enjoy. This route takes in both of our world-famous viaducts at Wiesen and Landwasser, letting you experience them right up close. Ela-Rundtour Die Zweitageswanderung beginnt in Bergün oder Filisur. Der Wanderer durchquert das Herz des Parc Ela. Über den Elapass vorbei an den kristallklaren Bergseen, über die Fuorcla Tschitta gelangt man nach Preda. Eine herrlich blühende Alpenflora und zahlreiche Alpentiere sind stetige Begleiter. Kesch Trek This route through the canton’s mountainous terrain gives you sweeping views of the valley far below. The Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) huts at Es-cha, Kesch and Grialetsch cooperate to offer the Kesch Trek as a single four-day package. Spazierpark Filisur Ein Spaziernetz rund um Filisur. Entdecken Sie unter anderem Architektur, Kulturlandschaft und Technik. Studenten der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste haben in Filisur alles entdeckt, was einen Englischen Garten ausmacht: Hecken, in die Landschaft eingebettete Wege, Ein- und Ausblicke in die Natur. Verschiedenste Solitäre (Sitzgelegenheiten, Aussichtspunkte etc.) laden auf den vielfältigen Spaziergängen zum Innehalten und Verweilen ein.

Strolling park Filisur A network of walking routes around Filisur. Discover such delights as the area’s architecture, cultural landscape and its role in the progress of technology. Students of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) have discovered, here in Filisur, what is needed to recreate a genuine English country garden, with hedgerows, sunken paths and both intimate and sweeping views of nature. A series of different features (benches, viewing points, etc.) invite the walker to stop, relax and reflect.

Bergüner Holzweg Spielerisch, lehrreich und besinnlich: Auf dem kinderwagentauglichen Weg lernen Sie das Bergüner Holz und den Wald kennen. Der Bergüner Holzweg führt vom Bergholzzentrum über Crestota nach Zinols und zurück zur Sägerei. Integriert ist ein idyllischer Grillplatz.

Bergün wooden way Fun, educational and well thoughtout: The wood-paved path, which is suitable for prams and pushchairs, offers a chance to explore the forest of Bergün. Bergün’s wooden way runs from the mountain forestry centre via Crestota and on to Zinols, before returning to the sawmill. There is an idyllic barbecue site along the way.
Tale trail The area around Crap Fèss, with its legend of a magic dwarf, is a place that invites you to tarry awhile. Picnic tables, benches and a barbecue grill are all provided. There is also a box containing a folder, with the legend of Crap Fèss told in various languages.
Sagenweg Um den Crap Fèss, dessen Legende von den Zwerglein erzählt, ist ein Platz entstanden, der zum Verweilen einlädt. Ein Grill, Tische und Bänke stehen allen zur Verfügung. In einem Kasten liegt ein Ordner, in dem die Sage des Crap Fèss in verschiedenen Sprachen aufgeführt ist.

Heidiweg Wunderschöner Wanderweg von Stuls über Runsolas nach Falein mit Schautafeln, die Erinnerungen über den 1952 gedrehten Heidifilm wecken. In der Hochsaison wird bei der Heidihütte ein feiner «Zvieri» mit Salsiz, Bergkäse, Kaffee etc. aufgetischt.

Heidi Route This breathtaking mountain track, which leads from Stuls to Falein via Runsolas, is dotted with information boards designed to awaken memories of the 1952 film Heidi. Panoramaweg Darlux Sparen Sie sich 600 schweisstreibende Höhenmeter und gönnen Sie sich die Fahrt mit der Sesselbahn bis zum Bergrestaurant La Diala. Der herrliche Höhenweg mit wunderbarer Aussicht auf den Piz Kesch und die Ducankette führt Sie über die Alp Muotta nach Chants. In Chants haben Sie die Möglichkeit mit dem Wandertaxi wieder nach Bergün zu fahren. Voranmeldung obligatorisch. Die Wanderung ist auch in umgekehrter Richtung (Chants – Bergrestaurant La Diala) möglich.
Darlux panoramic route Save yourself a sweaty 600-metre climb by riding the chairlift up to La Diala mountain restaurant. This wonderful high-altitude route, with great views of Piz Kesch and the Ducan range of mountains, takes you over Alp Muotta and onward to Chants. From Chants, you can take the “hikers’ taxi” back to Bergün. Previous registration is obligatory. Parc Ela Zwischen dem Albulatal und dem Surses thront er, der Piz Ela. Er leiht dem Parc Ela seinen Namen, dem grössten Naturpark der Schweiz. Auf 548 Quadratkilometern, einer Fläche doppelt so gross wie der Kanton Zug, erstreckt sich eine vielseitige Passlandschaft. Die Einwohnerinnen und Einwohner von 19 Gemeinden in den Talschaften Albula und Surses arbeiten gemeinsam daran, Natur und Landschaft im Park zu schützen, die nachhaltige regionale Wirtschaft zu stärken, das dreisprachige kulturelle Erbe mit Rätoromanisch, Italienisch und Deutsch zu bewahren sowie die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Talschaften zu fördern. Ein Naturpark ist kein strikt geschützter Raum wie der Schweizerische Nationalpark, sondern ein teilweise besiedeltes und genutztes Gebiet, in welchem Schützen und Nutzen im Gleichgewicht stehen: 5200 Menschen leben und arbeiten hier und prägen und pflegen die Landschaft. Prachtvolle Barockkirchen, stattliche Burgen und Dorfbilder von nationaler Bedeutung zeugen vom kulturellen Reichtum in der Passlandschaft von Albula, Julier und Septimer. Moore, Trockenwiesen, Bergseen und ausgedehnte Föhren- und Lärchenwälder warten darauf, entdeckt zu werden.
Parc Ela Piz Ela is the mountain that towers over the area between the valley of Albulatal and Surses. It gives its name to Parc Ela, Switzerland’s biggest nature park. This many-faceted, high-altitude landscape occupies some 548 square kilometres, or twice the area of the Swiss Canton of Zug. The inhabitants of the 19 municipalities that dot the valleys of Albula and Surses work hard on a day-to-day basis to protect this natural habitat, maintain a sustainable regional economy, preserve their trilingual cultural heritage based on the Rhaeto-Romanic, Italian and German languages, and promote cooperation between valley communities. A nature park is however not a strictly protected area in the same way as the Swiss National Park, but rather a partly built-up and populated area, in which the protection of nature and everyday life coexist in perfect balance:A total of 5200 people live and work here, and their presence has left its mark on the landscape. Splendid baroque churches, imposing castles and picturesque villages of national importance all bear witness to the cultural wealth of the mountain-pass country of Albula, Julier and Septimer. Moors, meadows, mountain lakes and massive forests of pine and larch all wait to be discovered.

Auf dem Pfad der Pioniere von Surava nach Alvaneu Bad erleben Sie an 13 Informationshalten Waldverhältnisse, wie man sie in der Schweiz sonst kaum auf derart kleinem Raum antrifft. Ein Höhepunkt ist das Naturwaldreservat beim Crap Furò, wo seit 2008 einzig die Natur das Sagen hat. 98
In the footsteps of the pioneers The pioneering delights of nature shine out on this hiking path laid out by Parc Ela, which runs to the geographic centre of the Swiss canton of Graubünden, Crap Furò. As you follow the path of the pioneers from Surava to Alvaneu Bad, you encounter no fewer than 13 information points in the forest, testifying to a concentration of attractions difficult to find in such a small space anywhere else in Switzerland. One highpoint of the route is the forest reserve of Crap Furò, where wild nature has ruled the roost exclusively since 2008.

Origens augenzwinkernde CommediaTruppe – alles Absolventen der Scuola Teatro Dimitri – erzählt das Lehrstück des Turmbaus von Babel neu. Die Schauspieler verwenden eine Vielzahl von Landessprachen, Schriftsprachen, Dialekten, Idiomen und anderen Regionalismen – und spiegeln die Sprachnot Graubündens in allen ihren tragischen Facetten. Origen The 2012 edition of the Origen Cultural Festival, under the directorship of Giovanni Netzer, which is dedicated to the “Myth of Babylon”, comes with a mighty cycle of gigantic towers, singing youths in fiery furnaces, legendary lions’ dens and lavish banquets likely to cost kings their lives. The members of the Origen Festival’s cheeky comedy troop – all graduates of the Scuola Teatro Dimitri – retell the tale of how the Tower of Babel was built. Performers use many different languages, written forms, dialects, idioms and other regional variants to mirror the tragic side of the linguistic complexity of Graubünden. Bahnmuseum Albula The museum provides a box of tools designed to help us understand our past, present and future. The thematic content is clearly presented, using original exhibits and multimedia design, to make it easily accessible, pleasantly surprising and a hit with the public. The Albula Railway Museum plays with each visitor’s actual experiences of having sat aboard a train, looked through the window, or followed the Rail Experience Walk, reflecting all the warm, cold, light and dark moments in both the abstract and in concrete terms. Kirchen in unserer Ferienregion Es lohnt sich, die Kirchen in unserer Ferienregion zu besichtigen. Ein Höhepunkt ist das Kirchlein in Stuls. Es stammt aus dem Hochmittelalter, und bietet gut zwei Dutzend Menschen Raum. Die Rundbogentonne wurde im 14. Jahrhundert vermutlich durch di Bondone vollständig ausgemalt. In der evangelischen Kirche in Bergün sind ebenfalls wunderschöne Fresken und eine spätgotische Leistendecke in vielfältigster Schablonenmalerei zu bewundern. Die Kirchen sind tagsüber offen. Führungen sind auf Anfrage möglich.

The churches of our holiday region The churches of our holiday region are well worth a visit. One of the highlights in this respect is the chapel in Stuls. Dating from the High Middle Ages, it has room for just a couple of dozen people. The barrel vault was decorated in the 14th century, probably by di Bondone. The protestant church in Bergün likewise contains wonderful frescoes and a Late Gothic wooden ceiling with complex stencil decorations. The churches are open during the day. Guided tours can be arranged on request.

Filisurer Dorffest Im Juni 2006 wurde die Umfahrung Filisur mit dem Ziel eröffnet, der Bevölkerung die Dorfstrasse zurück zu geben. Die Filisurer stellen sich der Aufgabe, Leben in die Dorfstrasse zu bringen und organisieren vom 29. Juni bis 1. Juli 2012, bereits zum fünften Mal, ein Dorffest mit Attraktionen, Konzerten und Festwirtschaft. Gäste und Einheimische sind herzlich eingeladen, in den Gassen und auf der Strasse mitzufeiern. Filisur town festival In June 2006, the Filisur bypass was opened with the intention of giving the town’s main street back to its population. As part of their efforts to bring life to the town’s main street, the people of Filisur will be organising, between the 29th June and 1st July 2012, the fourth edition of the town festival, with a series of concerts, events and other attractions. Visitors and locals alike are warmly invited to join in the celebrations taking place along the town’s streets and alleyways. − Filisur | 29.06. – 01.07.2012

Alpinathlon Der Alpinathlon ist Sport, Abenteuer, Teamspirit und Grenzerfahrung zugleich. Im Team, als Couple, oder als Single überwinden die Athleten Berg und Tal, Wanderwege und hochalpine Strecken, Sommer und Winter. Auf den 136,6 Kilometern zwischen Bergün und der Bergstation Corvatsch meistern die Athleten 5854 Steigungs- und 3918 Gefällemeter. Die Distanz teilt sich in fünf Abschnitte auf; einen legen die Athleten mit dem Rennrad zurück und je zwei mit dem Mountainbike sowie den Laufschuhen. Alpinathlon The Alpinathlon is a combination of sport, adventure, team spirit and exploration of extremes. Participants competing in teams, as couples or singly try their skill at conquering the area’s mountains and valleys by way of its high-altitude summer and winter Alpine hiking paths. Athletes covering the 136,6 kilometres between Bergün and the mountain station at Corvatsch have to deal with a rise in altitude of 5854 metres and a drop of 3918 metres.
