EAST-ANGLIAN GEOLOGY
HONOURED
" HAROLD SPENCER in recognition of his contribution to the knowledge of East-Anglian Geology, March, 1965 ". This was inscribed on a silver salver presented to Mr. Spencer at a luncheon given in his honour at Cambridge on 3rd June, 1965, by a group of Quaternary Geologists. Professor Harry Godwin made the presentation of the salver and of a silver tea-set, complimenting Mr. Spencer on the importance of his contibution to the geology of this country and indeed of Europe.
It gives us all great pleasure to hear in what esteem Mr. Spencer is held by fellow geologists, as it did in 1957 when he received the Fullerton Award from the Geological Association.
