The Golden Hoverfly, Callicera spinolae Rondani - surviving in Suffolk After reading a note on this species in White Admiral (45: 17), I spoke to Graham Rotheray, who confirmed that, since the possible sighting in September 1997, there had been one definite sighting at Thornham Magna in 1998 and two more in 1999. This welcome news extends the known Suffolk occurrences as follows: 1924 Thorndon (earliest British record) 1928 Southwold 1942 Brandeston (first published British record) 1947 Monks Soham late 1940s Iken 1997 Thornham Magna (possible sighting) 1998 Thornham Magna 1999 Thornham Magna (two) Alasdair Aston
