Registration

Payment Pay by cash, check or credit card. CAC accepts MasterCard, Visa and American Express. No credit card payments will be accepted for less than $10. A $35 fee is charged for all returned checks.

Confirmation/Reminder It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to record course start dates. Art Campers do NOT receive a confirmation or reminder. In the unlikely event that a course is cancelled, you will be notified as soon as possible.

Deadline

Registration deadline is 5pm, seven days prior to the course start date.

Refunds Refunds are available only if a course is cancelled by CAC due to low enrollment. Art Campers cancelling enrollment before the registration deadline will receive a tuition credit voucher, minus a $5 processing fee, which may only be applied to another class at CAC. No tuition credits will be given after the registration deadline, no exceptions.

Let 1st Art be your first stop for educational fun this summer. Our experienced early childhood specialist has designed a fun, age-appropriate curriculum based on a playful approach to art. The 1st Art program engages our youngest artists and fosters learning by teaching fundamental motor skills, increasing self-confidence, promoting awareness of the visual and tactile world, and by integrating the senses. Expect a balance of drawing, painting and craft-based projects during each class.

Art Campers may attend morning courses, afternoon courses or both for a full day of Art Camp.

However, we strongly recommend that 6-8 yearolds not register for a full day. Concentrating on art for more than five hours per day can result in serious burnout for our youngest artists. Those registered for the full day can bring a non-perishable lunch, drink and snack and will be supervised during a 30-minute lunch break.

Week 4 Continued: Encaustic Painting TS0707; 3:30-6:15pm Instructor: Martine Strohmeyer Explore the ancient technique of encaustic painting to create a series of prints. Encaustic paint is made from pure pigment, beeswax and resin and is applied hot using a variety of tools, revealing a velvety matte finish when cool. The medium can then be textured, scraped, incised, embossed, sculpted and mixed media can be imbedded. Experiment with a variety of designs and embellishments to create unique and original artworks.
