Styled after a 70’s pulp science fiction novel, Book On Tape is
a play about time travel, destiny and a future run by nerds with very stupid names. Targ Wildstar has returned to the past to ensure Jen Bennett does what she was born to do (but doesn’t know it yet). With the help of his friends Declyn Explodingmountains and N.A.D.S, Targ hopes to put Jen on track to save the world from an almost certain and highly implausible fate! A multi media jaunt through the comedic senses, Book On Tape is Trent Wilkie’s third full play in less than a year (Gargamel, Aachen). Through his experience with Mostly Water Theatre and writing for CBC Radio’s The Irrelevant Show, Wilkie’s full-length work harnesses his sketch comedy sensibilities, mixing them with modern themes and ridiculous satire.
“Trent Wilkie is one of the funniest men in Edmonton, a member of Mostly Water Theatre and one of the city’s great ears for dialogue.” -Todd Babiak, The Edmonton Journal Tickets: $10 Fringe Theatre Box Office: (780) 409-1910 | www.fringetheatre.ca | 10330 84 Avenue 6 ARTS at THE BARNS

ou are invited to witness a stand-off. Lily (the pale granddaughter of a paper matriarch) vs. Ellery (born underground during an eclipse of the sun) engage in a fierce battle that alters the shape and position of the heart. This is a timeless story about star-crossed lovers told through the kaleidoscope of magical realism; a paper farm, a sugar mine, a thousand years in a single moment. “HROSES: An Affront to Reason” is a beautiful, brutal and fantastical immersion in the eternals of love and war.
