Founded in 1972, Calgary Opera’s Mission is:
“To Engage our Audience and Enhance our Community through the Magic of Opera.” Since its inception, and especially in the past decade, Calgary Opera has made a name for itself as a company that is committed to the development of Canadian talent and the development of new opera works. Calgary Opera has an annual operating budget of almost $5 million with a subscription base close to 3,400 and total attendance over 80% capacity. Over the past decade creating new works and building new productions has been a cornerstone of the company. Calgary Opera has presented five world premieres, five Canadian premieres, and many company premieres. Advertising in the Calgary Opera Program is a wonderful way to heighten your exposure and achieve greater visibility in the arts community, and specifically to fans of the opera. With nine performances taking place in the Mainstage Series of the 2012/2013 season, your audience reach is well over 20,000 people. All performances take place at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, which seats approximately 2,400 people.
Take A Bow! For any Full Page/Full Season advertisers, you will receive a pair of tickets to each of the three productions in the Mainstage Series which take place during the 2012/2013 season. (Value of approximately $720.00!) This is our way of saying thanks, and also, a way for you to enjoy an opera performance, and at the same time, you can see your advertising in action!
