As we reach the end of the 2015-2016 mainstage season, it is time for us to reflect on our challenging yet successful season and look forward to 2016-2017. At the beginning of this year, we launched the Step Up for the Opera matching gift campaign, and to date it has reached $21,000 towards our end of the calendar year campaign goal of $100,000. I am proud to be among many individuals to have Stepped Up for the Opera this year, along with my fellow Board Members, Impresario Circle Members, long time patrons contributing either for the first time, and others who are donating for the first time in a long while. We believe this positive response to Step Up speaks to our collective passion for opera, and our collective understanding that the connection between the arts with our community run deep. My wife Susanne and I chose to Step Up because we believe in the power of the Opera and the role that it plays in making Calgary a great City. In these challenging economic times we are ever thankful to our corporate partners who have committed to supporting us through this season and those who have renewed their commitment moving into next season. We thank Husky Energy, Calgary Opera’s Season Sponsor, Cenovus Energy, Community Outreach Sponsor, and Nexen a CNOOC Company, production sponsor of The Magic Flute. We also extend our appreciation to our Government funders: The Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Calgary Arts Development Authority.
All funders are essential to the ongoing success of Calgary Opera. With ticket sales covering less than 30% of the cost of producing each opera production, their assistance enables us all to enjoy tonight’s performance of The Magic Flute. I invite you to join us in Stepping Up for Calgary Opera this season. When you renew your subscription or your annual donation please consider adding or topping up your contribution. Any new gift or increased portion of a renewed gift will be matched by the Stella Fund. Your support keeps opera alive and thriving in Calgary. Thank you.
message from the
general director and ceo | W.R. (Bob) McPhee, C.M. What a year it has been! As the 2015 – 2016 season of Calgary Opera comes to a close, we are reflecting upon a season of premieres and classics that we hope has delighted devoted subscribers as well as impressed our first-timers. We opened with the beautiful Lakmé, a feast for the ears, but also the eyes. The set and costumes transported us to exotic British India, and the singing by our talented Principals and chorus kept us there. Die tote Stadt – The Dead City opened to rave reviews for its set design, costumes and projections, but also the magnificent vocal performances by our Principals. Tonight’s season finale, The Magic Flute, is a timeless and beloved classic bringing together a host of talented artists, and one of the larger casts we have seen in recent years. It’s being directed by Rob Herriot, a friend of Calgary Opera who’s led many of our past operas including The Pirates of Penzance and Candide. It’s sure to delight as it always has for over 200 years, with the sensational vocal artistry of Adam Luther as Tamino, Hugh Russell as Papageno, Ambur Braid as Queen of the Night, Shannon Mercer as Pamina, and Uwe Dambruch as Sarastro among others. By now you may have received a brochure of our next season’s exciting lineup! In 2016-17 we invite you to discover a season of masterful works for the traditional taste as
well as the new opera genre. As you may know, I like to create a season that joins the classics with inspiring new works as a legacy for the future. We open with Die Fledermaus, the popular tale of hi-jinks and mistaken identities, filled with the infectious melodies that made Strauss so famous. In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, we will bring back for the first time in 14 years, the grand opera Filumena, Alberta’s own titillating story of the last woman to be hanged in the province. We round out the season with Turandot – Puccini’s powerful story of lies, passion and intrigue. I want to sincerely thank the Board, Staff, Chorus, Volunteers, and of course you – our loyal patrons and donors, who have supported us through the best and worst of times – all in your love for the magic of opera. We recognize that many people in our community are having to reinvent how they spend their entertainment dollars. I hope opera will continue to hold a special place for you – it’s a chance to escape, be transported to another place and time, and to experience an emotional connection through the purity of voice and storytelling. Thank you for being part of the Calgary Opera family. We hope to see you discover the 2016 /2017 season with us.
sponsors are Integral to Opera Opera is the grandest of all art forms. It’s powerful, emotional, immediate and larger-than-life. Opera deals with timeless mythology, and the eternal struggles and joys of human nature. Opera is presented in the grandest of forms with live music, drama, movement, extravagant sets, costumes and stage effects. Opera touches the heart! The kind and generous support of our sponsors provides us the platform to share this grand art form with our amazing city. Our continuing Season Sponsor is Husky Energy. This great Calgary-based organization has been a pillar for Calgary Opera. Their support is instrumental to bring our new works, World and Canadian premieres to our patrons. They have seen, and see, the vision of Calgary Opera and our positive impacts on the community. We thank Nexen a CNOOC Company, for sponsoring this final production of our 2015-16 season, The Magic Flute. They too value the arts as we do, and their positive impact on our communities. The Canadian premiere of Die tote Stadt – The Dead City was made possible through the support of BMO Financial Group, a production sponsor who has a history of helping us bring new and innovative works to Calgary. Being ‘of’ the community, is a principal value at Calgary Opera. Each year, our Emerging Artists tour northern or southern Alberta schools to share opera with the province’s young minds. Let’s Create an Opera is another yearly program, where Calgary elementary students create an opera from scratch; their original work is presented to their school, family and friends at the end of each year. These programs would not be possible without the support of Cenovus Energy, our Community Outreach Sponsor, Repsol, our Let’s Create an Opera sponsor, and Enbridge and RBC Foundation, our Emerging Artist Development Program supporters. They too value the possibilities that come from sharing arts and culture with Alberta’s future generations. Allegro Group is one of our newest programs. This ‘members only’ program helps connect patrons under 40 with opera by lowering the cost of single tickets, and providing exclusive access to Calgary Opera events. Through their Creating Opportunities for Young People program, one of our newest sponsors, TD Bank, illustrates their longstanding reputation of community building as sponsor of our Allegro Group. We couldn’t be happier to be part of the TD Bank family. If you want to learn more about each opera or meet some of the artists and creatives – you’re in luck. Two of our longstanding events, Pre-show Chats and our Sunday Opera Brunch Series continue this season thanks to KPMG and McLeod Law. How do we share the eternal struggles and joys of human nature presented by each opera, in a language we all understand? Through opera titles, which are made possible by Sun Life Financial. How do we share our Calgary Opera stories with Calgary? Through the continued support of the Calgary Herald, our Mainstage Media Sponsor. Year after year they’ve partnered with us to help connect Calgarians with culture. Not only have they been a fantastic supporter of our mainstage seasons, they jumped on board as an Opera in the Village partner when it was just a seed of an idea. As you can see, it takes many great organizations to bring the grandest of all art forms to Calgary’s Jubilee Auditorium, and classrooms across Alberta. We want to say a big ‘THANK YOU’ to all the mentioned sponsors and partners for continuing to give us the ability to do so.

Calgary Opera revealed the 2016-2017 season to our Impresario Circle and Friends of Calgary Opera at a special season announcement and open house on March 19. Guests were treated to a behind the scenes looks at what it takes to produce an opera, including a hands on look at costumes, props, and hair and make-up demonstrations. The afternoon was capped off by a taste of the season to come by Emerging Artist Andrea Núùez and alumnus Matthew Bruce. Lida Szkwarek (First Lady, The Magic Flute), who will return next season to perform the lead role of Filumena, sang the memorable Storm Aria from that opera to the delight of the open house guests.
THE MAGIC FLUTE 9
program notes The Magic Flute has always been one of those pieces that has been a challenge for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love the music, but it is the story that has always left me feeling like I am not quite smart enough to understand it. I always feel as though I should know more about the Masons and Masonic rites before taking on a production of this opera. I understand it is a fantasy, but I guess I just want to understand the point of Papageno and Tamino’s journey a little better than I usually do. A few years ago I was asked to create and direct a new production of The Magic Flute. I am always up for a challenge and so I set forth to figure out how to best tell this story and to make it as powerful as possible. I started to study the music and the text closely. I continually went back to the Masonic symbolism but I just could not make sense of why it was important to the telling of the story – other than the obvious “Three” symbolism. I know very little about the Masons, I would guess that I am in the majority on this, and focusing on that element seemed to diffuse the relevance of the story. After several weeks of research, I came to realize that the Masons and their traditions were not central to the story, but rather that The Magic Flute is essentially about a journey to higher enlightenment, a rite of passage to the discovery of love: brotherly, paternal, maternal and, yes, romantic, sensual love. This opera is filled with life lessons, the small things that we overlook that are still applicable today. Within the character of Monostatos for example, we are shown someone who is misunderstood and alienated; he is a character not belonging to any place or any one. The other characters in the piece represent many other themes that are also present in our everyday lives: friendship, trust, love, desire, greed, and power.
Setting the Stage By Director Rob Herriot
When working with the designers, we were all on board in making this production colourful and exotic. Bollywood was our inspiration, though not our final destination. Our goal was to create a world of layers and colours where pop-up story book images set the stage upon which these vibrant characters could come alive. In the end, I wanted to ensure one main thing – that all of the elements would help to support the telling of this beautiful and magical tale. The story of a journey where friendships are formed, love is discovered, life lessons are learned, challenges are faced and conquered, and trust and honesty are shown to be the basis of an enlightened life.
why i I support Calgary Opera because I believe in the “intrinsic value of arts and what it tells us about ourselves. Calgary Opera has been a strong community builder and developer of young Canadian talent. It is so much more than a producer of mainstage Opera. It is a wonderful institution and creative force in the Calgary community.

synopsis Act I
Act II
Tamino, a prince who is out hunting, is pursued
Sarastro explains his new ideas to the brotherhood and announces Tamino’s desire to enter the sanctuary of wisdom. The priests warn Tamino and Papageno that they may perish in their search for truth, and are then left in darkness with their first test – one of silence. Pamina rushes in and the two lovers are told to take their last farewell of each other. The three ladies enter and try to persuade to the two to abandon their new allegiance but Tamino stands firm, encouraging Papageno to do likewise.
by a serpent. He calls for help, and as he faints, the Queen of the Night’s three ladies save him. Papageno, the Queen’s bird-catcher, finds the confused Tamino and brags that he slew the serpent himself. The ladies overhear this, and as punishment for his lies, they padlock his mouth shut. The ladies show Tamino a picture of Pamina, the daughter of the Queen; Tamino instantly falls in love. The ladies tell him that the evil Sarastro has abducted Pamina. He resolves to rescue her. The Queen appears and offers Tamino her daughter’s hand if he succeeds. Papageno is freed from his padlock and the two are given magical gifts – Papageno, a set of bells, and Tamino, a flute. They are to be led by three spirits with special powers to protect them on their journey. In Sarastro’s palace, the overlord Monostatos forces his attention on Pamina. Papageno enters, and each thinking that the other is the Devil, run away. Papageno is the first to return, recognizes Pamina and assures her that her rescuer Tamino is at hand – and that he has fallen in love with her. The three genies lead Tamino to Sarastro’s temple. Tamino is refused entry. A priest tells Tamino that the Queen has deceived him, and that Sarastro is not the evil person she described. Tamino plays his flute and Papageno answers, Tamino rushes off to find him. Papageno and Pamina look for Tamino but are intercepted by Monostatos. Papageno remembers to use his set of bells, which set Monostatos and the slaves dancing. As Papageno and Pamina rejoice, there is a fanfare of trumpets and Sarastro arrives. When Monostatos returns with Tamino in tow, it is Monostatos who is punished for his unruly behaviour. Sarastro proclaims that there is much to be learned under his tutelage.
14 CALGARY OPERA 2015-16 SEASON
Monostatos continues his advances toward Pamina. The Queen enters and halts him with a cry; she then gives her daughter a dagger with which the girl must kill Sarastro and take from him the Circle of the Sun. If Pamina does not do this, her mother will disown her. Monostatos overhears this and threatens Pamina unless she will yield to him. Sarastro arrives in time to save her. He knows of her mother’s plot and forgives her part in it. Tamino and Papageno are still under their oath of silence, but Papageno enters into conversation with an old woman, who introduces herself as his sweetheart. As she departs, the three spirits return with food and wine. Pamina, hearing Tamino’s flute, enters and is overjoyed to find her love at last, but can extract no word from him and fears that his love for her has vanished. An assembly of priests is teaching Tamino. Papageno again meets the old hag, Papagena, now transformed into a beautiful girl. However, the two are separated by one of the priests. Pamina is found on the brink of suicide, but is dissuaded by the three spirits, who assure her that Tamino still loves her. He is brought in by the priests for the final test of fire and water. Pamina is allowed to join Tamino and they successfully pass through the ordeals. Papageno, in despair, prepares to die when the spirits tell him that he needs only to play on his chime of bells. He does so, and Papagena returns to him. Now in league with the Queen, Monostatos leads her and the ladies to the temple but they are defeated by the strength of love. Tamino and Pamina usher in a new era of truth, beauty and enlightenment.

Emerging Artists Where are they now? Emerging Artist program “Calgary’s played an integral role in the development of my career. I received incredible training from acclaimed guest artists and teachers, and was offered a wide range of opportunities to perform and hone my skills as an artist… The program was instrumental in the development of my career, and I am so thankful to Calgary Opera and the Emerging Artist program for giving me the chance to shine!” – Jessica Strong, 2011-12 Emerging Artist Graduate
Since 2005, we’ve had over 80 amazing voices come through the doors of the Mamdani Opera Centre. They’ve all participated in countless lessons, rehearsals and performances, in an effort to prepare them for the life of a professional opera singer. They’ve also participated in some of Calgary Opera’s most important cultural milestones of the last decade. The 2006-07 Emerging Artist ensemble travelled close to the Arctic Circle with a special northern tour of Iqaluit (Frobisher Bay), Norman Wells, and Yellowknife presenting excerpts from the world premiere of Frobisher. In 2012, the program was part of What Brought Us Here, a new opera based on the true-life stories of three new immigrants to Calgary. In 2014, as part of the Commonwealth games, members from the program represented Canada in the six-country collaboration of Anamchara: Songs of Friendship premiered by Scottish Opera. Over the years, we’ve been getting more and more reports on past graduates going on to do great things in their careers. Below are some notable alumni success stories. Andrea Hill, our Emerging Artist 2006-07 alumna, recently performed with us as Mallika in Léo Delibes’ Lakmé. This season she’ll also perform Dritte Mägd and Schleppeträgerin in Elektra at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as well as Flora in Verdi’s Traviata at Royal Opera House, in London. She’ll also make her debut as Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Opéra National de Lorraine in Nancy next season. Also from our 2006-07 Emerging Artist program, is alumnus Andrew Love. After graduation from the program and performing across Canada, Andrew joined the cast of the Tony-nominated revival of Les
Misérables on Broadway as the Bishop of Digne and Javert (understudy). We’re delighted to have Andrew back with us again next season in the role of Charlie Losandro in Filumena, originally a Calgary Opera and Banff Centre co-commission we’re bringing back in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Jessica Strong, a graduate of our 2011-12 program came back the following year to make her Canadian stage debut as Elvira in our production of The Italian Girl in Algiers. She most recently played the role of Micaëla in our 2014-15 production of Carmen. This season, Ms. Strong returns for her second year with the prestigious Internationales Opernstudio of Oper Frankfurt. She first appears as the leading soprano, Rosa, in a new production of Fioravanti’s Le Cantatrici Villane. In the spring, she will make her Wagnerian debut in Der Ring des Nibelungen as Woglinde in both Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung, and Siegrune in Die Walküre. Tyler Fitzgerald, our Emerging Artist 2012-13 alumnus, returned the following year to join the cast of our Opera in the Village production of Candide as The Governor/Judge. In the short time since graduation from the program, he’s made his debut with Pacific Opera Victoria as Mordred in Camelot and Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly. Tyler was also part of the inaugural Avalon Waterways Opera Cruise along the Blue Danube. This year, he made his European debut at the Mainz Staatstheater in Germany as Ceprano in Verdi’s Rigoletto. We couldn’t run the Emerging Artist Development program without Enbridge, who believes in making communities culturally vibrant through investments in the arts. We thank them for their generous support. THE MAGIC FLUTE 17

Christmas at the Opera The featured operatic rarity will be Doctor Miracle (Le Docteur Miracle) a delectable one-act farce by the 18-year-old, Georges Bizet. With recognizable melodies later used in Carmen and The Pearl Fishers, the madcap plot revolves around young lovers thwarted by their elders and (in our version) a Christmas dinner gone horribly wrong. This is followed by a magical melange of staged carols in the intimate setting of the Mamdani Opera Centre. It’s Christmas Season perfection. BY GIACOMO PUCCINI

Opera in the Village Returns to Celebrate Community The very successful Opera in the Village is back again. It will continue to be an event that brings our community together, but this year, in a different way. In August, we bring you Opera in the Village – The Chautauqua Tent. It’s a new closed-tent structure seating 300 guests all on one level. The word “Chautauqua” represents the popular movement of bringing education, entertainment and culture to whole communities in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This is due to the construction and important continued development of East Village. We thank our partners Imperial and Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, who are committed to bringing opera to the Calgary community in this different format.
THE CHAUTAUQUA TENT
24 CALGARY OPERA 2015-16 SEASON
Although the event will be smaller in scope, Calgary Opera will continue to deliver a fantastic experience for the community. The entertainment begins each day with a one-act version of our Emerging Artist family performance of Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck (adapted by Aaron Coates). We will end each day with the very funny (and cheeky), Archibaldo, performed by Cowtown Opera. There will be varied free entertainment for the whole family, between these two ticketed performances.

Chorus
The heart and soul of “ Calgary Opera is its chorus, W.R. (Bob) McPhee, C.M., General Director & CEO of Calgary Opera.
”
The Chorus represents a cross-section of Calgary’s communities, professions, and age groups. What brings them all together is the thrill of singing, putting on a costume, and taking on an operatic character. The chorus is presently under the musical leadership of one of the country’s most respected chorus directors, Sandra Atkinson, who leads members through (up to) five weeks of rehearsal before every production. This time is spent refining the language being sung in, staging the production and perfecting the overall sound. “Being part of Calgary Opera’s Chorus is an amazing experience,” says Sandra. “Members get to perform with some of the world’s finest opera singers and work with renowned Stage Directors, Conductors and our own Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra at the beautiful Jubilee Auditorium.” Calgary Opera would like to thank our 2015-16 chorus members for their hard work and dedication on Lakmé, Die tote Stadt – The Dead City and now The Magic Flute. “The heart and soul of Calgary Opera is its chorus,” says W.R. (Bob) McPhee, C.M., General Director & CEO of Calgary Opera. “Our productions wouldn’t be the rich opera experiences they are without them.” If you’d like to be part of next season’s chorus, or would like to learn more about Calgary Opera’s chorus and supers, visit calgaryopera.com/about-us/chorus-and-supers.

School Tour
Mozart’s whimsical opera The Magic Flute comes to life, not only as our final mainstage production of 2015-16, but also as our Emerging Artists’ 2016 Opera in Schools tour across Calgary and southern Alberta. Sponsored by Cenovus, this year’s school tour production of The Magic Flute took kids through a fantastical journey in a mythical world. The 45-minute fully-staged production was a wonderful introduction to the opera experience for young audiences. “Calgary Opera is committed to providing great introductory opera experiences to children,” states W.R. (Bob) McPhee, C.M., General Director & CEO of Calgary Opera. “Our mandate is to widen exposure to, and participation in, opera and music to various communities. The Opera in Schools program and our Let’s Create an Opera program engage thousands of children each year in exemplary music education.” Cenovus makes a positive difference in communities where they live and work. We thank them for helping us take opera productions to schools and communities throughout the province. “Cenovus is pleased to partner with Calgary Opera to give students in rural Alberta an opportunity to enjoy artistic and cultural presentations they might not otherwise have access to,” says Leanne Courchesne, Group Lead, Community Affairs at Cenovus. “We hope the students find these stories set to song engaging, and that the presentation by Calgary Opera will enrich their learning experience and offer them new possibilities.” The 2016 Opera in Schools tour visited schools in Airdrie, Rosemary, Rolling Hills, Bassano, Brooks, Drumheller, Duchess and Medicine Hat.

Perfect Recipe BRUNCH ANYONE! Take a delicious buffet brunch, add a fabulous classic setting, throw in a handful of Canada’s top operatic performers, and stir. What you have is a most wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning. The coupling of food and song is the perfect recipe. Both warm the heart, nourish the soul and elevate the spirit. Both make you feel good and both leave you wanting more. This is the magic of the Opera Brunch! The brunch takes place two weeks before each Calgary Opera mainstage production. It is an opportunity to feast on a wonderful buffet in the beautiful Devonian Room of the Calgary Petroleum Club and be moved by a recital performance featuring singers from the upcoming opera. You may hear a famous aria or a delightful musical theatre
number. Or, you might experience something totally surprising, such as Bramwell Tovey, Music Director of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and guest conductor for Calgary Opera’s recent production of Die tote Stadt, as he wowed guests with a special rendition of “As Time Goes By” from the movie Casablanca. The Sunday brunch series is made possible in part through the support of McLeod Law LLP, a local Calgary business, litigation and personal client services law firm who have been providing legal advice to over 40 different industries and legal areas for 36 years. Calgary Opera is grateful and proud to be a recipient of McLeod Law’s ongoing “commitment to contributing to the local communities through which we serve.”
SIP, SAVOUR AWAY Everyone loves a behind-the-scenes experience – be it film, the theatre or opera. Perhaps opera has a particular allure because it is grand. The costumes, the props, hair and make-up, set design, stage direction, and the music; they are all big and they are all part of the world of opera. As a way of engaging patrons in this special world, Calgary Opera holds a unique behind-the-scenes event on the Friday evening prior to the opening of each mainstage production. Titled A Taste of the Opera, and it is exactly that, a ‘taste’ of each of the upcoming shows, as the Mamdani Opera Centre opens its doors for an insider’s look, followed by a taste of food and drink from the region in which the featured opera takes place.
The educational program for the Taste varies with each performance. It could be a moderated panel of production team members discussing the inspiration for the set design, the construction process in building the set, and the importance of production lighting. Or it might involve a special guest, such as Kathrin Korngold, granddaughter of Erich Wolfgang Korngold, composer of Die tote Stadt, reflecting on her grandfather’s fascinating life. Most often the evening includes performances by one of Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artists, and it always is a wonderful time to socialize with opera-goers and friends over a glass of wine and a hors d’oeuvre.

Impresario Circle
Reflections
As Impresario Circle patrons, Julianne and Lachlin McKinnon are among Calgary Opera’s enthusiastic supporters who have chosen a distinctly rewarding level of engagement with the company’s exquisite productions, world-class artists, and educational and outreach programs. “As Impresarios, we feel privileged to be integrally connected to Calgary Opera as it continues to develop artistically and forge strong links with a wider range of Calgarians,” reflects Lachlin. The McKinnons particularly enjoy the benefits of membership that facilitate networking with fellow-supporters at soirees and in the Impresario lounge on performance nights. “It’s exciting to meet and connect with others who share our passion, and to use this unique forum to introduce others new to the opera experience in ways that are truly memorable. We are proud to help the Impresario Circle grow so that we can more effectively enable Calgary Opera to create the best opera experience.” Such ardent hopes for Calgary Opera’s success have been supported by generous supporters ever since its establishment in 1972. The Impresario Circle, formerly the President’s Circle, was formed in 1994. As one of the founding patrons, Lilien Dobish recalls the first get-together at a performance of Così fan tutte, where, at intermission in a corner of the Jubilee’s first balcony foyer, the small group of supporters toasted Calgary Opera. Lilien was deeply touched by the warm inclusiveness that she felt from the group that night, a feature, she notes, that remains a key element at all Impresario events. She also admits, “This special connection with other Impresarios always makes me feel that I am living something bigger.” Carolyn Dahl Rees, another Impresario patron and a longtime Chorus member, also enjoys the Impresario camaraderie, but she especially appreciates the Impresario events that include viewing

a staging rehearsal. “I’ve felt very privileged over the years to experience working rehearsals with Chorus and comprimario parts. You get a rare window into an outstanding level of creative work. It is great for Impresarios to see how the stage director works during that early stage in the process,” she recalls, reflecting on the sessions she’s attended. “It enhances your appreciation of the whole opera.” Indeed, an increasing number of Calgary Opera donors at the Impresario Circle level echo this sense of inclusion. For Monica Sloan, the Impresario Circle is a “home for caring opera patrons.” She believes this support is vital because “these individuals increase the profile of Calgary Opera as a progressive arts organization.” For example, since 2001, contributions from Impresario supporters helped fund the development of Filumena and several other new works. Such ongoing donor involvement is a testament to the strong connection that Calgary Opera fosters with its community of supporters. Together they advance the company’s growth and success. “There is so much more we can do together, so please join us! We are a circle of friends who share your passion for opera.” For more information about the Impresario Circle, contact Development Manager Brian O’Neill at boneill@calgaryopera.com or (403) 802-3409.
