Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) located in Edmonton, offers certificates, diplomas and applied degrees in such fields as business, industry, health sciences, engineering and architecture, IT, hospitality and outdoor programs such as landscaping and forestry. As well, NAIT is a leader in apprenticeship training, offering 35 apprenticeship programs in the skilled trades. The Nugget has been the official student newspaper of NAIT since 1963. Designed to inform students and the NAIT community of campus news, sports and entertainment, it also features popular sections containing opinions, feature articles and a forum for student commentary called “The Grapevines.” The Nugget is the only print publication regularly distributed to the NAIT community. There are 2,500 copies produced per issue with a pass-along readership of approximately 8,000 staff, faculty and students. The Nugget is distributed throughout all NAIT campuses in high traffic areas and is available on The Nugget newsstands. 26 issues are published each year during the academic terms, from September to April. Youth Marketing: Almost all college and university students read their campus newspaper. You are targeting 18-24 year-olds in a place they trust and are comfortable with, exposing your message to a specific, quantifiable and relevant reader base. You are also targeting consumers at a stage where they will develop strong brand loyalties, set trends, and are open to new ideas. The Nugget’s readers are young, active consumers seeking out the latest products and services. They want to know about your products and have the money to spend on them. The Nugget gets your message to the right youth market in a cost effective and efficient manner.
