“Our support of the arts
is an integral component of corporate citizenship,” says Ron Johnson, president of Raywalt Construction, the title sponsor of Opera al Fresco. For over 35 years, Raywalt has helped create and maintain a variety of infrastructure in the province, from servicing residential lots to completing water transmission projects. Their efforts can be seen in various regions throughout Alberta, primarily in the Edmonton area. Raywalt has played a major role in maintaining the excellence of Alberta’s structural foundations. Based in Acheson, Raywalt employs 18 permanent staff and about 170 seasonal staff, who mostly commute from the Edmonton area. Contributing to charitable organizations and initiatives in the city, therefore, is a way to give back to the community that supports Raywalt’s operations. In addition to Edmonton Opera, the company lends support to The Brain Campaign (University Hospital Foundation), Habitat for Humanity, Kids with Cancer, Autism Society, Canadian Mental Health Association, United Way, and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, to name a few. Both Edmonton Opera and Raywalt share a commitment to building communities — while Raywalt develops the infrastructure and future of Alberta through their high-quality construction projects, Edmonton Opera engages people in arts and culture, which together create a thriving province.
Celebrating 40 years Four decades of reliability and innovative solutions in subdivision servicing, project management, general contracting, sewer and water transmission mains, and all types of heavy equipment projects.

WHO WILL HAVE THE LAST LAUGH?
EVERYONE’S FAVOURITE BARBER IS BACK, AND NOW HE’S TYING THE KNOT!
As the infamous court jester, Rigoletto earns a living by making fun of people’s misery. So when his enemies seek revenge, they take the one thing Rigoletto values most: his daughter Gilda. What follows is a harrowing tale of greed, corruption, and violence that ultimately turns Rigoletto’s own fate into a cruel joke.
Like every young couple, Figaro and Susanna had dreamed of their perfect wedding day. But their plans are thrown into chaos when Figaro’s boss, the Count, sets his sights on Susanna. Mozart’s upstairsdownstairs comedy is complete with mistaken identities, swinging spouses, and some of the most recognizable music ever written!
Baritone James Westman, acclaimed by critics and audiences as Germont in La Traviata, sings the title role in Verdi’s high-stakes revenge thriller.
Don’t miss this spectacular production that premiered at Vancouver Opera in 2017 featuring an array of stylish costumes by renowned Canadian fashion designer Sid Neigum.
