EL EDITORIAL El giro hacia la sostenibilidad hacia el que se dirige la industria de la construcción, los materiales y al diseño arquitectónico hace que el mercado de productos e insumos a su alrededor apunten también en esa dirección. En cada edición ofrecemos nuevas ideas constructivas así como también materiales novedosos que buscan reducir la utilización de recursos o preservarlos. Muchos ya están en el mercado y otros, como el que les presentamos en esta edición, los hidrocerámicos, están en investigación. El ahorro de energía a través de la sustitución por energía LED y energía solar; diseños que buscar aprovechar la luz natural, la utilización de materiales aislantes entre muchas otras medidas, tienden a buscar, cada vez más, involucrar a arquitectos, diseñadores y al sector industrial para hacerlos partícipes de este proceso. La tendencia es irreversible. El sector apuesta al cuidado del medio ambiente, buscando mitigar los efectos negativos que la actividad edificadora ejerce sobre éste y, a la vez, mejorar las condiciones de habitabilidad de los individuos.
THE EDITORIAL The shift towards sustainability towards which the construction, materials and architectural design industries are headed means that the market for products and supplies around them also point in that direction. In each edition we offer new construction ideas as well as new material that seeks to reduce resource use, or preserve them. Many are already in the market and others, such as the one we present in this edition, hydroceramics, are being investigated. Saving energy by replacing it with LED energy and solar energy; designs that look to make the most of natural light, the use of insulating materials among many other measures, tend to increasingly seek to involve architects, designers and the industrial sector to make them part of this process. The trend is irreversible. The sector is committed to caring for the environment, looking to mitigate the negative effects that building activity wields on it and, at the same time, improve living conditions of individuals.

THE INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECT Tras ganar en 1990 el concurso convocado para diseñar el Museo Judío de Berlín estableció su estudio en esa ciudad. En 2003, trasladó su Studio Daniel Libeskind y a su familia a la ciudad de Nueva York al ganar la convocatoria para la reconstrucción del World Trade Center, aunque finalmente, por razones ajenas a él, no pudo realizarla.
After winning in 1990 the contest to design the Jewish Museum in Berlin, he established his studio in that city. In 2003, he moved his Studio Daniel Libeskind and his family to New York City when he won the invitation for the reconstruction of the World Trade Center, although finally, for reasons beyond his control, he was unable to carry it out.

En el caso del baño, además de mantenerlo limpio y ordenado, ya que es un espacio íntimo, nos interesa que sea también un lugar de relajación y que nos brinde serenidad.

Una regla básica del feng shui es procurar un equilibrio de los elementos de la naturaleza en el interior de cada estancia. Este año, bajo la premisa del ¨Buen Vivir¨, Eduardo Baldelomar se lució con su propuesta de Cocina Orgánica, un espacio que captura la naturaleza del entorno y lo incorpora al interior, generando espacios frescos, amplios y altamente funcionales. Acompañando el concepto de "Casa Viva" de CasaCor, jugó con el color verde en cada uno de los rincones, el mismo lineamiento con el que genera proyectos de diseño y construcción en Santa Cruz, La Paz y Cochabamba.
Menciona que la tendencia actual es diseñar involucrando a la naturaleza, emplear materiales que no impacten negativamente en el medio ambiente y crear espacios que no se sobredimensionan, valorizando la escala humana. Resalta que cada propuesta debe tener una identidad propia, con proyectos personalizados, dando valor al estilo de vida. ¨Soy amante de los trazos rectos, formas puras y colores suaves. Creo en la belleza de los detalles simples y que la elegancia está en la sencillez¨.

This year, under the premise of "Living Well", Eduardo Baldelomar showed off his Organic Kitchen proposal, a space that captures the nature of the environment and incorporates it into the interior, generating fresh, spacious and highly functional spaces. Accompanying CasaCor "Casa Viva" concept, he played with the color green in each of the corners, the same guidelines with which he generates design and construction projects in Santa Cruz, La Paz and Cochabamba.
He mentions that the current trend is to create spaces that involve nature, to use materials that do not negatively impact the environment and create spaces that are not oversized, valuing the human scale. He emphasizes that each proposal must have its own identity, with personalized projects, giving value to the lifestyle. "I am a lover of straight lines, pure forms and soft colors. Desde hace tres años está cargo de la reforma de interiores del Hotel Cortez en una propuesta integral para sus habitaciones, piscina, jardines, gimnasio, lobby, bar, recepción y fachada principal que ha venido implementando paulatinamente rumbo a la conmemoración de sus 50 años.

La obra ocupará 70 hectáreas de terreno ubicado justo donde se encuentran la Interestatal 75 y el Florida Turnpike, en el noroeste de Miami. Se trata de un proyecto ambicioso y gigantesco que incluye una pista de esquí cubierta, un parque acuático, toboganes y paseos submarinos, además de cientos de tiendas comerciales, restaurantes, centros artísticos y unas 2.000 habitaciones de hotel.
The project will occupy 70 hectares of land located right where Interstate 75 and Florida Turnpike are located, in northwest Miami. It is an ambitious and gigantic project that includes a covered ski slope, a water park, slides and underwater walkways, as well as hundreds of commercial stores, restaurants, art centers and some 2,000 hotel rooms.

La compañía valenciana Be More 3D diseñó la novedosa BEM1, que imprime y construye una vivienda de 60 m2 en 12 horas, con cemento resistente y de excelente calidad. Vicente Ramírez, CEO de Be More 3D, asegura que solo hay que montar la impresora sobre el terreno a edificar y se prepara la cimentación. Una vez abastecida de material, imprime como una impresora de 3D normal.

Housing, 3D Reality Printing a house in three dimensions in less than 24 hours and without waste is already possible. Three companies developed innovative concrete printers ready to work on site. The Valencian company Be More 3D designed the innovative BEM1, which prints and builds a house of 60 m2 in 12 hours, with resistant cement and excellent quality. From an architectural and construction perspective, we see this process as healthy, since competitiveness has forced improvement and expansion of the hotel quality and capacity of our city. In the case of hotel franchises, we see a challenge for local architects and builders, since the quality specifications and standards required by these franchises have forced us to update and grow in order to meet that demand. l Instituto de Arquitectura Avanzada de Cataluña, IAAC, ha creado un nuevo ladrillo inteligente, desarrollado en el Estudio Materia Digital. En este producto, al que bautizaron Hydrocerámic, se combina la cerámica tradicional con un hidrogel, permitiendo enfriar de forma pasiva los interiores de un edificio, reduciendo la temperatura hasta en 6ºC.

ENVIRONMENT Hydroceramic Cooling walls The Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, IAAC, has created a new intelligent brick, developed in the Estudio Materia Digital. In this product, named Hydroceramic, traditional ceramics are combined with a hydrogel, allowing the interior of a building to be cooled passively, reducing the temperature to 6ยบC. Adapted to the tendency to use elements that add to a sustainable design, they reduce the use of air conditioning devices and, therefore, of energy consumption. The idea is designed to be placed on walls or facades. The piece is created as a sandwich, with three layers with specific functions:
ceramic, main component of the piece; hydrogel, to absorb and retain water, multiplying its volume; and fabric, transmitter of the liquid to the gel, responds to moisture and heat. In order to produce the desired effect, the middle layer of the brick (which could be made with rainwater) is fed with water. The gel absorbs it and holds it until it is hot. As the temperature rises, the water evaporates reducing the heat and increasing the level of humidity. Although hydroceramics is undergoing experimentation, this type of material advances in the reduction of energy consumption and, therefore, in the protection of the environment.
