EuroMed Voluntary Service (EVS) April – September (Jordan) In April 2014, I-Dare participated in the meeting held in Madaba-Jordan (orgnisaed by Salto). The meeting aimed to set strategies for upcoming trainings and capacity building programmes in the MEDA region concerning EVS institutionalisation and accreditation process. In September 2014, I-Dare will participate in a capacity building programme in Amman as part of its accreditation process.

Guest Lecture: Can we trust the banks 8th May 2014 Amman (King Hussein Business Park)

Professor Chris Cowton (Dean of Business Schools, University of Huddersfield) conducted a guest lecture titled “Can we trust the banks�. The lecture depict the global financial crisis in 2007 where so many still have concerns about the banks. The speech focused on the three main concerns we have about banks; the traditional concern (savers vulnerability), the modern concern (miss-selling financial products), and the governance concern (how could this happen?). It concluded with a look at how the banking sector is addressing these concerns on both a global and local level are addressed.


USAID Forum on Vulnerable Youth 12th May 2014 (Amman) I-Dare participated in two working groups; youth outreach and civil society organisation role. The forum was an opportunity to convene the donor community, civil society, government and youth to discuss targeting and tracking for interventions related to vulnerable youth in Jordan. The results of the forum will inform stakeholders and be used for targeted discussions and interventions serving youth.

Fredrich Neumann Foundation preparatory meeting: Supporting Political Reform Process in Jordan 17th May 2014 (Amman) I-Dare participated in working groups to discuss and to prioritise issues in the political reform process including multi-dimensional approach (media, societal, economic, & political).

Sawa Ben3ish: Spreading the culture of dialogue NFE methodologies for schools May 2014 (Jordan)

I-Dare introduced the developed pedagogical board games as tools to spread the culture of dialogue at schools in Safot and Mahes (schools are part of Madrasati Initiatives). These educational tools are developed by Irenia for Peace games and it is awarded by the UNAOC-BMW for Intercultural Innovation Award. These tools aims to (within the Mediterranean region): - To revive the dialogue process and to promote freedom of expression, acceptance & pluralism among students of 7-11 grades. - To encourage self-awareness among students and to encourage their responsible critical and creative thinking approach.


Leadership Empowerment in Youth Work 9-10 June and 23-24 June 2014 (Badeyh) It is a 4-days workshop by Iyad Aljaber (A.C.T. Enginner) for MiddleBadeyh’s youth. Around 60 participants came together to discuss and reflects about topics of interest from their local communities and by the end of the workshops participants formed their groups to start working on their initiatives.

ICT Tools in Youth and Social Work 10-12 June 2014 (Amman) I-Dare organised 2-days workshop by Nuno Carvalho (Oracle in Social Work Expert) aimed to the promotion of ICT (Information in Youth and Social Work, understanding the potentialities that ICT can have in these fields. More than introducing to tools, the main purpose of this training course is to approach strategies and methodologies using these tools to improve the quality and efficiency of Social and Youth Work.

Training for Trainers in ICT 15th -16th June 2014 (Amman) I-Dare organised a 2-days workshop Nuno Carvalho (Oracle in Social Work Expert) aims to provide reflection about the learning processes associated to the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in an holistic approach regarding what is training in this field.

The other: Online Wiki Toolbox for Human Rights Education Evaluation Meeting Amman 13-14 June 2014 It is about the development of a multilingual online toolbox with activities for Human Rights Education for youngsters - this toolbox is available as an open and collaborative online wiki. The overall aim is to promote intercultural dialogue and human rights education for youngsters through alternative and combined active, digital and collaborative methodologies resources in a multilingual online platform.


Visual Thinking and Info-Graphic Facilitation Workshop 18-21 June 2014 @ I-Dare office (Amman) 22-26 June 2014 @ Zain telecommunication office (Amman)

I-Dare organised two workshops by Yorgos Konstantinou (Visual Engineer and Comic Expert) about visual thinking and infographic facilitation. The workshops was rich with content and tricks; The language of drawing, visual thinking, visual rhetoric, simple drawing and icons.

Service Civil International North-South Exchanges August – October 2014 (Cataluña, Belgium and Poland) The aim is to deepen mutual knowledge for better collaboration and partnership building among orgnisations in the south and the north of the Mediterranean sea.

Bridging the gap between formal and non-formal education 11th – 18th August 2014 (Latvia) A training course for teachers on non-formal education methodologies. The general idea of this training course is to bring together teachers from different European and MEDA countries in order to build common understanding and exchange experience on how formal education could be combined with non-formal learning in order to promote the development of young people. Special focus will be on schools in smaller towns and rural areas where there are not that many opportunities than in bigger towns and cities. 24 teachers and education specialists from “Youth in Action/Erasmus+” Programme Countries (Latvia, Hungary and Estonia) and MEDA countries (Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco) will come together to exchange and to acquire new knowledge. 3 teachers from different governorates and 1 education specialist will be representing Jordan and I-Dare in this training course.


Clearly Positive Cultures 4th -12th September (Spain) Training course tackling issues related to prejudice and held perceptions towards European and Arabic culture. The training course will provide creative tools to help in dealing with multicultural teams and projects; how to counteract prejudice, how to establish critical reflection, how to handle stereotypes, and how to foster intercultural dialogue.

MENA/European Cultural and Creative Sector Management November 2014 – April 2015 (Casablanca, Amman, Beirut) I-Dare will be participating with its project ComiCipate: Using comics as a tool for social activism (dealing with participation and active citizenship) Is a project based capacity building, cooperative learning experience and cultural project development to foster regional exchanges within MENA region and to develop new cultural approached in the cultural policy reflecting new trends in the region and the importance role of civil society support. It is organised by EUNIC MENA which will also act as an incubator for the participating projects and in collaboration with Association Marcel Hicter (organizer of the European Diploma in Cultural Project Management) and Association Racines (organizer various leadership training programs in North Africa). About ComiCipate: in our region, we need to promote peaceful and creative ways for expressing opinion, for being activist, for taking active role in our communities. Also, we need to have powerful mediums to convey our messages in a global language and a language that is acceptable by the majority as it is crucial to establish dialogue between everybody and those who differ with us so to reach agreement and understanding of any sort.
