Treatment: Documentary Title of Production: “The silent crime” Duration of production: 10 minutes The Premise: We've decided that our final documentary will focus on the theme of rape and its awareness in society. Using research, photos and cases of actual victims we can bring a selection of these materials that we can use in our documentary. We want to talk about rape and its statistics within the Uk. Looking at TV documentaries on the topic and how it’s changed throughout the years as it is becoming more increasingly recognized in the modern day world, as a serve act of violence. Also finding various rape stories that are well known will help our case study in our documentary, as the actors can act out a prepared script of what the victims would say if they did talk about their traumatizing experience. We decided to re-enact a interview of the victim and show the audience a realistic view of what rape is from the perspective of the victim. So the production parts would be shared between us: Diana will be the acting as the victim, Zintle we be the interviewer and Sumi will be filming. Allowing our target audience to understand the documentary and what messages were trying to put across. Research on rape victims, documentaries on rape will help us form a structure for the show using these resources to support our message on rape. There will also be clips of the victim’s silhouettes being filmed. Explain who your target audience will be and why the programme will appeal to them: Our target audience is aimed at women in general and how they feel towards the subject of rape, ensuring they understand the real effects of rape and how it can be dealt with. Statistics show that 1 in 5 women between the ages of (16-59) have experienced some sort of sexual violence in the UK alone, this shows the increase number of women that are affected by rape and what they can do about it. Creating this documentary will allow women everyone to talk and help others who have been affected by rape and how they can overcome it.

The impact will be strong as most women are aware of rape and effects of it so knowing about it in more depth will help them understand how to deal with it if they have been affected with it. Allowing them to get support from rape support from various well-known websites that help victims to deal with their traumatic experience and how to overcome it. Organizations are there to help in any way possible from practical services as well as verbal advice. So we want the send as specific message to all women that are affected by rape or any sexual violence that you are not alone you can get help by coming out and talking to someone or even a organization for rape victims because it will make all the difference in the world, when you have someone who knows what your going through or even understand how your feeling.
