tation Evaluation
Longgang is one of the six districts that belong to the Shenzhen City. The planning area is a major component of the Longgang District's future urban core according to the city's Comprehensive Plan. One metro station named Jixiang lies to the northwest, linking the center of Longgang District with the central area of Shenzhen City. The Huiyan Highway passing by also offers the site a reliable connection to the neighboring cities. The site divides two significant ecologic cores and embraces the Longgang River as its key landscape element. Based on resource evaluation, the area along the Longgang river and around the metro station has largest development potential.

open & continuous green net
First, we suggest a long spanning riverside park along both banks of the Longgang River as a green buffer to protect the ecologic health of the river. We also propose a creation of an open and continuous green net with green paths connecting public spaces that scattered around to the riverbank, which also serves as the corridor for the regional ecologic system.

make the river more accessible As shown in the Figure below, even though the Longgang River flows through the site, the entire north bank is unaccessible to the public as they are blocked by existing industrial yards. While buffering the riverbank to improve the water quality, we also suggest opening accessible spots along the river so that the public could embrace water into their daily life.

Open space along the recreational riverb
In the recreational river bank area, we combine the building structure with descending gr and under which are mixed-use shopping and leisure spaces. By blurring the inside and outs spaces, people would readily perceive and appreciate the nature no matter where they are.
Meanwhile, the green roof and tree buffer along the river also help to reduce the stormwa from the site, contributing to the health of the mother river of Longgang District.

Skyline From the Northeast Height Control The plan suggests the height limit as 200 meters according to the Longgang District Comprehensive Plan. The recommended location of the symbolic Building would be at the northwest gate of the site, which is right above the Jixiang Metro Station. We also suggest the closer to the river, the lower the building heights, so all the buildings within this area could catch a view of the Longgang River.
