At the time of our visit, Ronan was at the controls of Mark’s Wacker Neuson T18 with VDS for tilting the upperstructure system by up to 15 degrees. To make it an even more versatile digging machine, Mark has ordered a new Danish compact lightweight CT2 tilting hitch, supplied by Angus Innes of CS Machinery in Inverness. Ronan was digging out a section of steep incline and shaping a horseshoe-shaped curve – as an optional go-around route –and attening out the peak for an easier ascent for the bike riders.

Ronan said, “The Wacker Neuson T18 is a nice little digger for this type of work, and it’s quite versatile with a tilting bucket tted and the VDS tilting upperstructure system. Robustrack is based in Ingleton, Carnforth. Its founders, CEO Dave Cerca and Roberta Heslop, started o by importing hydraulic excavator attachments into the UK during 2012.

The Robustrack team supplies attachments and from an adjacent borrow-pit, was used in some sections of the bike trails, along with some imported dust to help bind the topdressing stone. Transporting this material was a combination of a Japanesemade 2007 Marooka MST300VD tracked carrier with a 2,500kg capacity, and a smaller Yamaguchi Winbull WB05 Track Barrow.

With the new addition to his eet of machines, Mark’s new hi-spec Eurocomach 65TR midi digger is proving to be a highly productive and versatile machine for various forestry and trail building work for his valued forestry and recreational business clients.
