ead to toe, tone on tone or with blocks of choice pairings the colour wheel was in full spin on the SS15 runways. If you don’t have an expert eye, the latest colourcentric sunglasses are the perfect starting point. Ray-Ban’s new Bicolour collection cuts the iconic Wayfarer with contrast colour and mirrored lenses. Superdry’s colour drenched Shockwave shades couldn’t be more summer-specific whilst Prada Sport bring both the season’s top colour combo and trendy sports influence.

OAKLEY HOLBROOK

Retro is served up with a sporty twist in the superb Oakley Holbrook. With keyhole bridge and hinge pins it has an authentic feel. Rectangular shape and blazing branding are a trendy take on must-wear retro. This edition comes with extra verve in a print honouring Oakley founder Jim Jannard’s improvement on the handlebar grip. A matte finish seals the deal.

PRADA SPORT 56PS

Green and blue were a favourite pairing on the spring/summer menswear’s runways. Sport styling continues to mingle with dressed up looks too. Do it all in one fell swoop with Prada Sport’s sleek brow line sunglasses 56PS.

The Ray-Ban 2140 Wayfarer Bicolour gives you exactly the choice colour pairings we saw in the SS15 runways. Gold mirrored lenses top off giving you even more magnetism. Layer up yellows, greens and browns for a slick catwalk coordinated look. The classic’s still hand crafted and fitted with crystal lenses for optimal clarity.

PERSOL 2931S

From the Suprema range 2931S is inspired by Persol’s archive. A slim oval frame is cut with a keyhole bridge providing distinction. Persol’s iconic arrow (which continues to be handmade) is unmistakable. The Meflecto system used by Persol since the late thirties provides a bespoke fit. From the Vintage Celebration collection ‘Miele’ (in Italian honey) acetate is a vintage Persol hue.

Superdry’s Shockwave serves up colour superbly. A refined slim line shape replete with keyhole bridge keeps even fluoro colour in line. Have colour cut with classic tortoiseshell or taking over the whole frame. Or take the black frame and let those attention seeking mirrors take centre stage. We love Superdry’s Japanese script scrawled temples.

POLICE HOT 1

Police give the classic wayfarer a trendy twist with a dose of colourplay in the Hot 1. That iconic essential shape is set off by a contrast zingy interior. A slick of vibrant multilayered mirror on the lens helps deter glare and attract serious attention.

VIOLETFORHER

iolet reigned supreme at the spring 2015 catwalks. Lilac, lavender, purple and mauve were embedded in Balenciaga, Burberry and Alberta Ferretti. It’s rich in heritage too. A chosen colour of emperors, royalty and priests. Intrigue admirers while your skin radiates with sunglasses in shades of violet. Get creative and draw attention to the violet frame with Ray-Ban and Superdry’s mirrored lenses. Miu Miu matches the lens hue to the frame. Ray-Ban contrasts 2140’s luxurious hue dressed in rugged denim fabric. And Dolce and Gabbana brings out violet’s sensual side. Let violet draw you in. You might just fall for its charm.

Based on the original style worn by John Lennon the 3447 is a true icon. The iconic round metal receives a new Vintage Flash mirror colour update for 2015. Trendy violet flash mirror teams perfectly with the antiquated bronze-copper frame.

SUPERDRY ELLEN

Superdry Ellen prefers to stand out from the crowd. And she certainly does. Striking pink mirrored lenses sit within a purple frame. A keyhole bridge adds old-school character. Metal temples contrast with the contemporary matte frame.

MIU MIU 50QS

Miu Miu reveals its playful yet mischievous character through 50QS. Pentagonal shaped lenses in lilac sit within a crystal lilac round frame. Lining this is antique gold metal. The metal continues to craft the ultra-thin temples. 50QS is shot in black and white on actress Stacey Martin in Miu Miu’s AW14 campaign.

VERSACE 4277

The Medusa of Greek mythology would turn to stone those that looked upon her. Gianni Versace made her image the house logo as he wanted those that looked upon those wearing his clothes to be stopped in their tracks. Leopard print used by Gianni Versace in the 90s continues to clothe the fearless Versace woman. Here it backs Medusa in trendy lilac. A pink interior adds an ever sweeter twist to the fierceness.

Now the Ray-Ban Aviator comes camouflaged for 2015. Real camo fabric is mounted by hand over the frame and temple tips. Not for hiding this is the ultimate way to stand out in the iconic frame. Classic green G-15 lenses team perfectly with the purple tones.

Snake skin is a Just Cavalli favourite. We love its contemporary interpretation at the temples of this wayfarer style. Lilac is the perfect refresh on classic tortoiseshell too.
