NEWJEWELS

he relationship of clothes and jewels reached dazzling new heights on the spring runways. Not just for night time, everyday wear was decorated from head to toe. Designers are as creative with sunglasses too. For 2015, Miu Miu’s iconic Noir is dashed with both micro-fine and large crystals. Chanel’s exquisite Prestige collection is inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s love of crystals and belief in their healing powers. Jimmy Choo’s Megan lenses and frame is cut to cater for unique jewel placing. Contemporary neon lines on Bulgari’s frame mirror the latest sparkling Diva design. And Dior Inedite captures Raf Simons’ ultra modern way of presenting jewels on the catwalk. Glamour has never been so effortless.

BVLGARI 8151BM

The Greek Muses inspire Bulgari’s latest high jewellery. The stunning sunglasses collection features crystal pavé detail designed after the Takhti cut of ancient tiles. This classic feminine cat eye is handcrafted. Bulgari’s famous originality is still as beautiful as its attention to detail. Carla Bruni demonstrates these beautiful sunglasses in Bulgari’s 2015 campaign.

MIU MIU 04QS NOIR

Miuccia Prada’s take on jewels is trend setting. You’ll be ahead of the game too with these. 04QS is Miu Miu’s stunning special edition take on the Noir sunglass that first showcased on the forties inspired AW11 runway. Miu Miu 04Qs shines in the SS15 campaign worn by actress Mia Goth. Tiny crystals surround the angled cat eye. Larger crystals are inserted by hand too. Fine acetate follows the crystals’ positioning. Havana marble compliments the grey decor and gold metal frame.

MICHAEL KORS VILLEFRANCHE

Boldness characterises the new jewels. Villefranche takes inspiration from the iconic Michael Kors Miranda bag. The bag’s unmistakable clasp provides decor at the temples and in stunning Swarovksi crystal. Villefranche has the perfect on trend thick set frame to showcase it too.

DIOR INEDITE

Dior Inedite plays with contrasts. Shiny crystals sit against matte, rubber temples. These in turn connect to a polished dark havana acetate front. Each pink Swarovski crystal is applied by hand. Dior Inedite is crafted with couture expertise.

CHANEL 5308H

Crystals take pride of place at 31 Rue Cambon, Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment. They hang from the famous chandelier bearing interlocking Cs and No 5 symbols. Now they line the temples of Chanel 5308H. The sunglasses are a part of Chanel’s Prestige collection. A squared silhouette completes 5308H’s allure.

FENDI 0041S IRIDIA

Fendi’s unique sunglasses were first unleashed on the house’s spring/summer 2014 catwalk. The triangles that ran over clothes, shoes and bags are set in crystal at the points of these extraordinary sunglasses, irradiating colour as light rays hit. Here the fierce unexpected Fendi 0041S Iridia is in black. Flat metal angled temples break more rules. Triangles feature at either side of the bridge and inlaid at the temple tips.

JIMMY CHOO MEGAN

Swarovski crystals adorn iconic Jimmy Choo stilettos. These inspired Megan/S sunglasses in the Crystal and Glitter collection. Ten different size jewels are placed between the round frame front. Lenses and the dark grey frame are cut accordingly. The jewels really do take centre stage.

BVLGARI 8156B

Bulgari looks to Hollywood stars like Elizabeth Taylor for 8156B Diva. Each crystal placed in fan shapes are placed by hand. Neon lines on the cat eye mimic the detail’s lines on the temples. A brown and almost fluoro green backdrop is utterly contemporary.
