We began over two decades ago with just one aircraft and one route. Today, we operate over 90 aircraft along more than 450 routes. Although a lot has changed over the years with Allegiant, our goal of offering everyone the opportunity to travel still remains. We do so by flying out of cities and airports that other airlines do not. We do so by offering base fares at less than half the cost of the average domestic roundtrip ticket. I’m often asked how we are able to keep our fares so low. Let me take a moment to pull back the curtain and give you a couple ways that may seem obvious and one that may not. By offering you the ability to pay only for the services you use, we don’t have to include bag fees, beverages or snacks in everyone’s ticket. And by allowing you to save some money by only bringing a personal or carryon bag, we also save on fuel costs by carrying less weight — savings, we again pass on to you. Another way, which may come as a surprise, is our non-reclining seats. The reclining mechanism on every seat actually adds a substantial amount of weight when you add them all up, which also impacts fuel costs. Less fuel necessary to fly means more savings. These are just a few of the ways we can keep our fares low. And as always, we hope you take advantage of the convenience and great deals we offer on our nonstop flights, hotels, car rentals and more to make your trip a great one. Thanks again for choosing Allegiant and have a great vacation. Maurice J. Gallagher

RUN SPONGEBOB RUN
The buddy movie goes deep with "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run" By Christopher Lewis
"The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run" hits theatres with more music than ever before, more stars than ever before, and many more surprises. After SpongeBob’s beloved pet snail Gary is snail-napped, he and Patrick embark on an epic adventure to The Lost City of Atlantic City to bring Gary home. As they navigate the delights and dangers on this perilous and hilarious rescue mission, SpongeBob and his pals prove there’s nothing stronger than the power of friendship.
SpongeBob and Patrick visit The Lost City of Atlantic City
6 ▪ cov e r s to ry
Were either one of you intimidated by the thought of visiting the Lost City of Atlantic City? Sponge Bob (SB): Intimidated?… Is the mighty warrior intimidated by the battlefield? The champion competitive eater by a delicious Krabby Patty? I stare intimidation right in the face, and I say: I’M READY!… I’m going to save my Gare-Bear and nothing is going to stop me! Except maybe for sea urchins or zombies… maybe clowns… but that’s it! Patrick (P): I would love to know what time we

can go on a date to the Lost City of Atlantic City. Should I bring flowers?

Any tips for someone visiting a new city for the first time? SB: It’s always more fun with your best friend, and don’t forget to bring an extra jellyfish net! • When asking for directions, ask them to sing you the directions to the tune of their favorite song. That way, you can remember the directions better. • The best restaurants have a “C” on the front for “Come on in.” Or a “D” for “Dinner is served.” • Bring a little laughter into your day by putting a few spoonsful of jelly in your pockets so you feel funny. • When in doubt, laugh uncontrollably. Patrick, can you please describe the qualities of a good friend? P: Who is A. Goodfriend? I don’t know him… he sounds nice. SpongeBob, is snail-napping a crime? SB: Gary is just the cutest when he naps… he has the most delightful little snore. The only crime when he is napping is that he is just too adorable. P: Shhhh, Gary is napping. All these questions are making me sleepy, I’m going to take a nap with Gary. SpongeBob, where’s Gary? SpongeBob, will we learn more about your time at Camp Coral? SB: You bet your bikini bottom sand dollar! We will learn about jellyfishing, bubble blowing, telling stories, and my most favorite part… learning how I found my best friend — Patrick and making new friends…and more best friends…Sandy and Squidward and Mr. Krabs and Plankton and of course my most bestest friend Gare-bare. I love you Gary.

SpongeBob and Patrick embark on an adventure
P: Did they just ask what time it was? I think it’s time for a nap or bubble blowing! Nope, definitely a nap. A question for you both: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? P: Dill Pickle Swirl. SB: They didn’t ask for your favorite ice cream flavor, Patrick, they want to know where you would like to travel? P: Oh! GLOVE WORLD! We can ride our favorite roller coaster: The Mitten! SB: I'm READY, I'm READY! Last question for SpongeBob: Will you PLEASE consider sharing with your fans the Krabby Patty Formula? SB: I do love to share with my best friends, but the recipe isn’t mine to share. The Krabby Patty Secret Formula is the sole property of The Krusty Krab and is only to be discussed in part or in whole with its creator, Mr. Krabs. Duplication of this Formula is punishable by law. NOT YOUR TYPICAL TAPS DISCOVER WHAT'S BREWING IN DESTIN-FORT WALTON BEACH By Heather Turk
Beer drinkers hoping to get a taste of what the Florida Panhandle craft beer scene has to offer during their Allegiant getaway will find several breweries in Destin-Fort Walton Beach that offer an array of house-made brews on tap.
MCGUIRE'S IRISH PUB Just like the Pensacola location, which opened its craft brewery in 1988, this lively pub’s Destin Harbor location brews its own ales, porters and stouts on premise. Since opening in 1996, the traditional oak and copper brewery has used only the finest ingredients — including its own house yeast — in its beers, which are brewed with the pub’s delectable dishes in mind. The 7.5-barrel system produces five flagship beers as well as a rotating seasonal selection, with pints priced at just $5.25 or $3 during happy hour. The pub even has pairing recommendations for guests, like the award12 ▪ dining
PROPS CRAFT BREWERY This veteran-owned, aviation-themed brewery from Fort Walton Beach began operating out of a brewpub on Miracle Strip Parkway in 2011, producing just 1,750 barrels a year. In 2016, it opened a large-scale distribution brewery on Lovejoy Road that’s able to produce 10,000 barrels annually in order to distribute its flagship beers and seasonal selections along the Emerald Coast all year long. Guests can relish 12 beers on tap at the brewpub or 16 beers on tap in the distribution brewery’s cozy taproom, with prices ranging from only $5 to $7 a pint. Must-try selections include the Dos Pilotos Cerveza — a South Americanstyle lager that’s brewed with pale malts sourced from Patagonia — and the unfiltered and unpasteurized Blonde Bomber Ale. propsbrewery.com

DESTIN BREWERY Founded in 2015, this family-run brewery started out with a 4-barrel system before upgrading to a 20-barrel system in 2018 to keep up with production demands. Although best known for its lighter bodied craft ales like the award-winning Emerald Köast Kölsch ricestyle lager, the brewery offers a diverse range of beers for beer enthusiasts to savor, including a series of pepper beers like the Ghost Pepper Peach Double IPA. Its family-friendly tasting room generally features 16 in-house brewed styles on tap, including the brewery’s own root beer, with prices ranging from $2 to $9 depending on the brew and pour. Most of its beers are made with as many local ingredients as possible, too, like Destin honey and fresh Florida citrus. destinbrewery.com

Being an outsider has never been as much fun as it is in Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach. The pristine destination along Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast welcomes “outsiders,” or vacationers who prefer to do things outside, and invites them to experience some of the state’s most coveted outdoor activities all in one place. Home to some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in the state — some of which are only accessible by boat — Punta Gorda/ Englewood Beach offers an array of exciting experiences to enjoy while basking in the warm sun. Even the youngest outsider will have no trouble finding unique ways to experience the area’s natural beauty, whether they’re building sandcastles on Englewood Beach or looking for fossilized shark teeth at Stump Pass Beach State Park.

For those who want to get out on the water, visitors will find a number of boat tours, charters and water taxis to take them out into Charlotte Harbor or to one of Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach’s nearby islands, like the secluded Don Pedro Island State Park. Nature enthusiasts can also explore more than 200 miles of Blueway Trails in the area by going kayaking, canoeing or paddleboarding. Paddlers can actually rent their own kayak or stand-up paddleboard through Hooked on SUP (hookedonsup.com) and explore the trails’ breathtaking scenery and deep mangrove tunnels by themselves or book one of the company’s guided tours to learn more about the area and see some of its marine life. Given that Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach boasts more than 70 parks, preserves and recreational areas and is surrounded by lush greenery, the area is naturally a great place to observe wildlife. In addition to being home to seven sections of the famed Great Florida Birding Trail, the destination has several environmental centers that offer guided tours and educational programs. Animal lovers can actually get up close to more than 100 nonreleasable animals — including a rare white eastern screech owl named Luna — at Peace River Wildlife Center (prwildlife.org), a nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation and education center that rescues and rehabilitates native Florida wildlife while teaching guests how to live in harmony with nature. Anglers can test their luck while they’re on vacation with King Fisher Fleet (kingfisherfleet.com), which offers both deep sea fishing charters in the Gulf of Mexico as well as back bay fishing charters in the Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve. While its calm, inshore waters may lure outsiders out to sea, Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach has plenty of outdoor activities for guests to enjoy on land, too. Golfers will find more than 20 golf courses nearby offering a range of challenges, not to mention stunning Southwest Florida vistas. Guests can also stay active by taking advantage of TEAM Punta Gorda’s free bicycle loaner program (teampuntagorda.org/free-bike-program) and checking out a bicycle at one of five locations throughout the city. Bikers can then pedal their way around the quaint harborside town and its charming historic district. Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach offers guests two very different quaint downtowns to check out during their stay. Whereas downtown Punta Gorda offers a historic, harborside setting centered around Marion Avenue that’s filled with delectable restaurants, great shops and fun entertainment, downtown Englewood Beach is home to Dearborn Street, a beachy thoroughfare with several wonderful shops and eateries. No trip to Punta Gorda/ Englewood Beach is complete without walking through Fishermen’s Village, either (fishville. com). height) to 36 inches. The following weekend — with the help of Barney McCallum, who was introduced to the game at Pritchard’s home — rules were created and pickleball was born.
According to the USA Pickleball Association, pickleball was initially created by congressman Joel Pritchard and businessman Bill Bell to keep their families entertained when they couldn’t find a full set of rackets to play badminton with one summer day. Pritchard and Bell decided to improvise with what they had, and their families played on Pritchard’s badminton court with ping pong paddles and a perforated plastic ball instead. Over the weekend, players realized that the ball bounced well on the asphalt surface, so the net was lowered from 60 inches (badminton
While there has been some debate as to how the game got its name — Pritchard’s wife claimed she called the game pickleball because the combination of different sports reminded her of “the pickle boat in crew where oarsmen were chosen from the leftovers of other boats,” whereas McCallum said the game was named after the Pritchards’ dog, Pickles, who would run off with the ball — there’s no debate over its popularity today. Since 2010, the number of places to play pickleball across the United States has more than doubled, with over a dozen parks in Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach offering courts on a first come, first served basis. That includes Port Charlotte Beach Park and Gilchrist Park, both of which have four outdoor courts boasting amazing views of Charlotte Harbor.

When visiting a pristine paradise like Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach, it’s only natural to want to explore the great outdoors. Although there’s no better time to reconnect with Mother Nature than on Earth Day, April 22, Allegiant passengers will discover there are several ongoing eco-tours available in the area so they can celebrate Mother Earth all spring long. BABCOCK RANCH ECO TOURS Learn about the historic Crescent B Cattle Ranch on a 90-minute swamp buggy tour of the Babcock Ranch Preserve in Punta Gorda. During the informative excursion, passengers will travel through various Florida ecosystems while passing by alligators, wild turkeys and even a herd of Florida Cracker cattle descended from the first cattle brought to the state in the 1500s. Visitors can explore the ranch on one of its monthly photography tours, too. Clocking in at two-and-a-half hours, the early morning swamp buggy tour provides the perfect opportunity for birdwatchers to spy on the redcockade woodpeckers, sandhill cranes and swallow-tailed kites that frequent the ranch. babcockranchecotours.com PALM ISLAND RESORT'S ECO KAYAK TOURS Open exclusively to guests of Palm Island Resort, this backwater adventure in Cape Haze is one of the best around. Led by the resort’s Florida Master Naturalist, who has spent more than 35 years in the area, the picturesque excursion takes guests through local mangroves and to a hidden lake. Along the way, the naturalist will dive into the history of the area, educating kayakers on the importance of mangroves and estuaries while identifying nearby wildlife like conchs, sea stars, dolphins and manatees.
Tours last from two to three hours and single and double kayaks are available. The resort also offers nature boat tours and guided walking nature tours, making it a real eco-friendly destination. palmisland.com RIDING THE WAVES An eco-tour experience unlike any other, this guided boat tour company out of Englewood lets guests cruise just inches off the water while operating their own two-seat power catamaran. Guests will follow a certified Florida Master Naturalist tour guide, who will talk about the history of the area (tours are available along both the Lemon Bay Aquatic Preserve and Gasparilla Sound) and point out any wildlife along the way. Common sightings include dolphins, manatees, ospreys and pelicans. Tours range from 90 minutes to two-and-a-half hours, with shelling and sunset tours available. Those who want to make a positive impact during their vacation should also inquire about the Coastal Cleanup Eco-Tour. ridingthewaves.net

CRACKER BOX RESTAURANT, FORT MYERS Credit cards don’t work here in this old Florida holdout with a bit of an attitude. The staff doesn’t apologize if guests have to wait a spell for their order of famous crab cakes, shrimp or a creamy fish dish named Baked Cloris, after the owner’s mother, because they are proud that everything is fresh, homemade and made to order. However, even the most impatient guest can be soothed by the live music that happens every night. crackerboxrestaurant.com DIXIE FISH CO., FORT MYERS BEACH For many years, the Dixie Fish Co. sat as a vacant landmark on the fringes of the Fort Myers Beach shrimping docks of San Carlos Island. Though it has been resurrected, its peaked tin roof and breeze-through stilted dining room hold onto the old-time flair. With the seafood coming in fresh, the local “pink gold” wild shrimp at Dixie Fish Co. are roundly applauded, along with mahi-mahi and the catch du jour. As the weather begins to heat up, it’s only natural for Florida’s gentle giant, the manatee, to start swimming further out into the Gulf of Mexico to lounge in its warm waters. That doesn’t mean, however, that people can’t still see the hefty herbivore up close — especially when visiting a manatee-friendly destination like Tampa Bay. TAMPA ELECTRIC'S MANATEE VIEWING CENTER Since the early 1970s, manatees have been gathering in the clean, warm water discharge canal of Tampa Electric’s Big Bend Power Station — sometimes by the hundreds — when Tampa Bay’s water temperature drops to 68 degrees. Guests can typically see the mammals taking refuge at this now-designated manatee sanctuary from early November through mid-April from one of its boardwalks or its 50-foot tall wildlife observation tower. Additionally, visitors can learn more about the majestic creatures and their habitat inside the environmental education building. Admission

to the center is free and includes access to a stingray touch tank and butterfly gardens. tampaelectric.com/company/mvc URBAN KAI Nature enthusiasts may get to share the water with some manatees during this stand-up paddleboard shop’s popular eco tour of the Weedon Island Preserve. Held twice a month, the 75-minute nature paddle is led by a local marine biologist, who will guide paddlers through a variety of habitats along the western shore of Tampa Bay in hopes of seeing some wildlife, including dolphins, birds and sea cows. If a strong cold front moves through the area, paddlers sometimes end up seeing groups of 50 or more manatees! Private eco tours can be booked seven days a week, too. urbankai.com ZOOTAMPA AT LOWRY PARK Home to the David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center, the largest nonprofit, acute care facility of its kind specifically dedicated to providing critical care for wild manatees, this local zoo rescues and rehabilitates manatees suffering from things like boat strikes, cold stress and red tide year round. Guests may see everything from small calves that need bottle feeding to adults that weigh more than 1,200 pounds being taken care of from the hospital’s underwater viewing area or its above ground platform that gives guests a peek into three 16,000-gallon medical treatment pools. Visitors will also likely see the zoo’s one resident manatee who, due to injuries, has been deemed non-releasable. Since opening in 1991, the center has cared for more than 400 manatees and returned 258 of them back into Florida waters. zootampa.org r ec r e at i o n ▪ 4 1

Nothing speaks of New Orleans like the hotel lounge bar. In a city that prides itself as a facilitator of good eats, good drinks and good times, the right hotel lounge bar must be more than just a hotel decoration. Like the first course of a fine meal, it sets the tone for the experience to come. It is where the traveler is introduced to the city, and where they can mingle with the locals. It is where conversations are encouraged. Where the ambiance complements your mood. Where you can grab a bite and a drink and be more than satisfied.
Loa International House New Orleans Loa is where Faulkner-like southern hospitality meets New Orleans’s Vodou roots. Loa are the divine spirits in the Vodou faith, and divine is the word that comes to mind when speaking of Loa’s artistic contribution to cocktails. Using fresh ingredients, its cocktail menu is created by a “spirit handler” who draws inspiration from local as well as African, Asian and Latin America traditions. Inside Loa, you’ll always find as many locals as hotel guests.
Pelican Bar Sheraton New Orleans Hotel Named in honor of Louisiana's most visible symbol and state bird, the Pelican Bar is reminiscent of a French Quarter courtyard with its tiered fountain, lavish landscaping and hand-detailed wrought iron. It’s a relaxed hangout in the heart of the French Quarter where you can order one of their specialty cocktails and split their delicious cheesecake. Think of the Pelican Bar as the place to take it easy in The Big Easy. Madam's Modern Kitchen + Bar B on Canal A century ago, the neighborhood where Madam’s resides now was once New Orleans’s famed red-light district, Storyville. Today, the restaurant and bar sits in a newly renovated chic hotel just steps from the Quarter. However, Madam’s pays homage to its roots with its Victorian-era artwork, overstuffed leather seating, antiqued brick walls and wood-topped marble bar. Its cocktail menu is even inspired by the historical “Blue Books,” a directory of Storyville’s more sordid attractions. Its menu is a mix of classic creole along with dishes influenced by Southeast Asia, Italy and Latin America. In other words, it’s pure New Orleans. Madam's serves Red Light (happy hour) specials Tuesday through Friday.

WINGS FOR AUTISM Ta k e s F l i g h t By Andrew Porrello
Every day, thousands of people pass through the gates of an airport, go through security and depart on their way to visit friends and family and to go on vacation. It’s a process that has become routine for many travelers, however, for some, the airport experience can be extremely nerve-wracking and overwhelming — especially for individuals with unique intellectual and developmental disabilities. This year, Allegiant, in partnership with The Arc of the United States, will continue to host Wings for Autism/Wings for All events around the country.
Photos courtesy of Allegiant
Wings for Autism/Wings for All is an airport “rehearsal” specially designed by The Arc for individuals with cognitive disabilities, their families and aviation professionals. We work collaboratively with The Arc, airport and TSA personnel to carry out each event and hope the trial flights help alleviate some of the stress that families who have a child on the spectrum often experience when traveling by air. During the event, participants check in to receive their boarding passes, pass through the TSA security checkpoint and wait in the boarding area to board an Allegiant airplane. The families are also given a presentation on the aircraft’s features, in-flight safety protocols and take-off procedures. The goal is to simulate the airport experience as closely as possible while also ensuring that all event participants are comfortable and understand that this is a safe learning environment. For that reason, we do not close the aircraft doors and the plane does not move — allowing participants who may not be as comfortable staying on the plane the opportunity to get off at any time. “Hosting the Wings for Autism/Wings for All events is part of our initiative to make travel more accessible for those facing medical challenges,” said Hilarie Grey, managing director of corporate communications. “Airports
and airplanes can be full of overstimulating variables, such as big crowds, bright lights and loud noises over the intercoms and when overhead bins are opened and closed. We are thrilled to partner with The Arc to break down barriers of travel and help families experience the vacations they dream of taking.” The Wings program is equally as important for our airport staff and flight crews and provides them with the opportunity to observe, interact and deliver their services in a structured learning environment — improving their disability competency and processes for accommodating ALL passengers who fly. We have seen firsthand the success of these events, and it always puts a smile on our team members’ faces when we hear of a family that was able to go on a trip because of their experience. Our partnership with The Arc of the United States has made a lasting impact in the lives of so many people who are now confident to travel by air. If you are interested in learning more about the Wings for Autism/Wings for All program, please visit their website. thearc.org/ourinitiatives/travel

RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE Customer Experience Celebrities By Kerry McGee
We strive to recognize our hardworking team members all year long, and we are proud to acknowledge those who went above and beyond to improve our customers’ overall Customer Experience (CX). Thirteen team members were recently recognized as CX Celebrities. Each of them (along with a guest) were invited to a fullcourse dinner and special presentation with our executives and board of directors at our headquarters in Las Vegas to celebrate their achievements. We are proud to share a few examples of why they are being honored: “I walked on the plane one morning and noticed Joy (Flight Attendant, Los Angeles) had a book in her hand. I asked what she was reading, and she said she was learning sign language because we have a regular customer who is unable to hear. The customer was so incredibly happy to have someone take the time to learn and be able to communicate with him.” “Paula (Customer Service Agent, TampaSt. Petersburg) went above and beyond in
assisting a single dad travelling with an infant who had missed his flight. She found alternate arrangements and then took her own personal time to see that the father and baby were taken care of. Paula also made sure that the baby had something to eat and that the dad had enough supplies for the night.” “A family traveling from Boston to California for a wedding temporarily lost their luggage. Erik (Stations Supervisor, Santa Maria) figured out that the luggage could get to another one of our locations. TRAVELER INFORMATION SAFETY FIRST
Customer safety is Allegiant ®’s first concern. Please be advised that interference with the duties of crew members, including flight attendants, is a violation of federal laws. Our crews are thoroughly trained in all safety procedures. To ensure your own safety, we hope you take a moment to review the safety information card located in the seat pocket in front of you. Be aware of the following:
• Location of the nearest emergency exit • Location of your emergency oxygen mask, if needed • Correct procedure for exiting the cabin in an emergency SEAT BELTS
Seat belts must be fastened ANY TIME the seat belt sign is on, during taxi, takeoff and landing. Once the seat belt sign is turned off, you may walk around the cabin. Due to unexpected turbulence, it is strongly recommended that you keep your seat belt fastened any time while in your seat. Allegiant’s exit seating policy does not allow the use of seat belt extensions in the exit seats due to tripping hazards.
Unlabeled seats or seats manufactured before Jan. 1, 1981, are not acceptable. Child restraint seats are to be placed into a window seat and secured with an aircraft seat belt.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS ONBOARD
The use of small cameras or mobile devices for photography and video is permitted onboard provided you keep the purpose of your photography and video to capturing personal events. Photographing or recording other customers or airline personnel without their express consent is prohibited. Airline personnel reserve the right to prohibit photos and videos onboard the aircraft if it becomes a disturbance to them or other passengers.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Allegiant is forbidden to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone who appears to be intoxicated or who has not yet reached the age of 21. It is a violation of federal regulations to drink alcoholic beverages during a flight unless they have been served by Allegiant personnel.
SMOKING
CHILD RESTRAINT SEATS
Federal Aviation Administration requires that all child restraint seats used on planes meet federal safety standards. Acceptable seats bear proper labeling
“THIS RESTRAINT IS CERTIFIED FOR USE IN MOTOR VEHICLES AND AIRCRAFT" from the manufacturer.
Smoking, the use of other tobacco products, e-cigarettes and other similar smoking devices are not permitted on any Allegiant flight. Federal law imposes fines of $1,000 for smoking and up to $2,000 for any attempt to disable an aircraft smoke detector.
