THE INSPIRING ILLUSIONISTS
Penn Jillette has a lot to be thankful for these days. Not only is the outspoken magician celebrating his greatest vanishing act—making 110 pounds disappear—and the book he wrote about his weight loss journey (Presto! How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear and Other Magical Tales), but he and his longtime partner Teller recently added several new illusions to their hit show at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Many of the jaw-dropping bits were filmed for this season of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” which airs new episodes on The CW through Oct. 5. For tickets to see Penn & Teller live in Las Vegas, visit riolasvegas.com.

Hi,HanktheWallethere! I’m Jim’s wallet and together we do quite a bit of traveling. What can I say? We love to get away! One of our favorite places to get away to is Las Vegas. Admittedly not the easiest place for a wallet to be, but we were able to save a wallet-friendly bundle on our last trip. We all know Las Vegas has some of the best restaurants in the world, and it’s all too easy to empty us wallets out for a good meal. But Jim and I found some great local restaurants that pack big flavor without the big price.
PEPPERMILL FIRESIDE LOUNGE The Peppermill Fireside Lounge was perfect for brunches, Bloody Marys and late-night eats and is located right on Las Vegas Boulevard. With happy hours and breakfast specials below $10, you won’t break the bank or hurt your wallet.
NORA’S ITALIAN CUISINE Nora’s Italian Cuisine just off the Strip may not look like much from the outside, but on the inside they serve up some of the best Italian food this side of the Rockies with authentic, fresh pizzas to share starting around $14.
ITSY BITSY: RAMEN AND WHISKEY Lastly, Itsy Bitsy: Ramen and Whiskey in downtown Las Vegas is known for dishing out bowls of their delicious signature ramen noodles and having one of Las Vegas’ most inexpensive happy hours. Check out the rest of Sunseeker here to find even more ways to save like we did in Las Vegas, as well as in our other great destinations. On page 11, check out a must-see retail destination, or enjoy football action in the Valley of the Sun on page 60.

FISH OUT OF WATER—AND ON YOUR TABLE FRESH LAS VEGAS SEAFOOD HAS COME OF AGE By Grace Bascos
F
or a desert destination, Las Vegas has some serious seafood offerings. With the advent of overnight shipping, chefs can now order seafood from around the world and serve it to guests often within 24 hours of being caught. Seafood lovers can delight in the freshest of fare! Here’s a sampling.
Photo of Strip House courtesy of Strip House; Costa di Mare by Jeff Green; Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House by Chris DeVargas
COSTA DI MARE, WYNN LAS VEGAS
The former Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare was one of the first Las Vegas restaurants to start importing fish direct from fishermen in the Mediterranean, showcasing species pulled from the water a mere 24 hours ago. The name may have changed to Costa di Mare, but Chef Mark LoRusso is just as committed to bringing in seafood, such as Ligurian octopus, Sicilian amberjack and langoustine, from the waters surrounding Italy. Though there are many ways to enjoy these fish, as simple as possible—either baked in a salt crust, or grilled and served with a light drizzle of fruity olive oil and a squeeze of lemon—is often the most rewarding. wynnlasvegas.com/dining/finedining/costadimare
STRIP HOUSE, PLANET HOLLYWOOD
For a place that’s focused on steaks, this sultry Strip House has cast a few nets into the sea as well. With its Sea to Strip program the fish come from a region 375 miles north of Oahu, where native species such as ono, monchong and opah are line-caught, then found on dining room tables a mere 16 hours later. The fish are treated as simply as possible, prepared with a few seasonal accents such as charred tomato vinaigrette or chimichurri. When a fish has traveled this far, you should be able to taste why the chefs wanted it to make the trip! caesars.com/planet-hollywood/ restaurants/strip-house
EMERIL’S NEW ORLEANS FISH HOUSE, MGM GRAND
The king of modern Creole cooking couldn’t call it his Fish House if he wasn’t getting the best of the best. Emeril’s New Orleans-influenced restaurant receives worldwide deliveries, including the Gulf of Mexico, Boston and Fiji, six times a week. As one of the best spots in town for oysters, Emeril’s come straight from both coasts and New Orleans, naturally, along with crawfish that go into the etouffee and gumbo. For a true taste of the South, the Pecan Crusted Texas Redfish, served with cheese grits and a Creole-style meuniere sauce, is a sure winner. mgmgrand. com/en/restaurants/emerils-creole-cajunrestaurant.html

here may be plenty of delectable brunch options on the Las Vegas Strip, but some of the city’s best places to enjoy this mid-morning meal are actually found off-strip. Next time you’re hungry for a mouthwatering brunch experience your taste buds won’t soon forget, check out one of these local favorites.
ANDIRON STEAK & SEA
Serving an extensive selection of breakfast items daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., this locally owned restaurant has two locations to choose from: one in Southern Highlands and another off of Flamingo and I-215. Known for its hearty portions, fresh-squeezed juices and delightful dishes, brunch favorites include the Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Pancakes, S’Mores Campfire Waffles and Lox & Cream Cheese Omelette. Lunchtime fare is available, too, starting at 11:30 a.m., including the delicious made-fromscratch Tomato Soup topped with garlic-cheese toast. bestbreakfastvegas.com
DW BISTRO
This flavorful eatery just relocated to a more spacious venue at The Gramercy so that it could accommodate its ever-growing fanbase. Famous for its unique style of Jamaican meets New Mexican cuisine, brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. While nothing on the menu disappoints, the Jerk Fried Chicken & Waffles served with DW’s signature maple syrup seasoned with clove simply bursts with flavor. The spicy Chicken Flautas is also a must, as is the beautifully presented Pesto Torte: a combination of cream and goat cheese with roasted nuts served with flatbread crackers. It’s so pretty, you’ll be reluctant to take a bite—but it’s so tasty, you won’t be able to stop eating! dwbistro.com 14

BORRACHA AT GREEN VALLEY RANCH RESORT
This Henderson cantina serves an assortment of delectable dishes, from flaming tequila fajitas to brown rice bowls. Menu must-tries include the savory Beef Empanada seasoned with cinnamon and served with a soffritto roasted tomato sauce and the tender Carne Asada Skirt Steak topped with grilled onions and served with a side of chimichurri sauce. Although the sauces aren’t really needed, as both dishes are plenty flavorsome on their own, they do pair nicely with the succulent selections. The best way to sample its many savory selections is with the Build Your Borracho Platter, which lets guests choose an entrée, taco and enchilada from a list of items to create their own combo plate (the Chipotle Pork & Roasted Corn taco is especially tasty). While the platter is plenty filling, be sure to start your meal with the Grilled Pineapple-Jalapeño Salsa for the table and don’t forget to try the Grilled Street Corn topped with crema, chile de árbol, cilantro, lime, mayo and crumbled Cotija cheese—it’s arguably the best street corn you’ll find north

HARD TO GET RESERVATIONS? LAS VEGAS HAS YOU COVERED By Grace Bascos

ometimes restaurants are hard to get in to, especially right when they open. But once the hype dies down, only the truly special spots remain in demand. The bad news? In their original locations, you still have to know someone to score a table at these restaurants. The good news? It may be impossible to get a reservation to these stellar restaurants in any other city, but Las Vegas has you covered. Here, the only person you need to know is on the other end of the reservation line.
CARBONE, ARIA
never get in to. The original East Harlem, New York location only has 12 tables, which makes the real estate prime to begin with. Then, when you factor in that each table has a standing reservation for each night of the week and that owner Frank Pellegrino, Sr.’s nickname is Frankie No, as in “No, I can’t get you in,” it’s pretty much impossible. Fortunately, the Caesars Palace location is larger and Frank Pellegrino, Jr., who runs the Las Vegas joint, is more flexible. You’ll be digging into their Traditional Rao’s Meatballs before you know it! caesarspalace.com
MR. CHOW, CAESARS PALACE
This is the seventh MR. CHOW in the world—but that doesn’t mean it’s any less special than the original six. The first one opened in London in 1968, serving Beijing-style cuisine with European style service. It’s the Beverly Hills location in 1974 that put MR. CHOW on the map, becoming the go-to Chinese restaurant for the Hollywood elite. The tradition continued in New York, South Beach and Malibu as fashionistas and artists flocked to the modern Beijing restaurant to be greeted by its champagne trolley, followed by the Green Prawns or the famous hand-pulled MR. GET PLUCKY IN LAS VEGAS THE RISE OF THE CHICKEN SANDWICH By Grace Bascos

YARDBIRD SOUTHERN TABLE AND BAR, THE VENETIAN
If there’s one thing Southern-style favorite Yardbird does right, it’s fried chicken. If you’re not in the mood for a hefty half bird, there’s always the Crispy Chicken on Mama’s Biscuits to help you get your fix. Prepared in the same way as the larger portion—from a secret recipe that involves a 27-hour brine followed by a dredging in a mix of secret herbs and spices and then fried to perfection—the mini version seems downright dainty. But one bite and you’ll realize it packs as much a flavor punch as the famous big bird portion. Though classic burgers have long been the big winners at Shake Shack, the Chick’n Shack keeps up with its beefy counterpart. They didn’t merely swap out the burger to create this simple, yet satisfying sandwich. Start with a chicken breast that comes from a bird raised cagefree and without any hormones or antibiotics, marinated in buttermilk before being dipped into a house-made batter—both of which ensure a tender, juicy, flavorful bite even after that bad boy’s been deep fried. Served on the Shack’s soft potato bun with a house-made herb mayo accented by chives, parsley and thyme, and tart, crunchy pickles, this is the perfect change of pace from your usual burger. newyorknewyork. com/en/restaurants/shake-shack.html
BRUXIE, THE PARK
You already knew that chicken and waffles were a big thing, but Bruxie has taken it a step further and created a handheld treat. Tucked neatly into the folded, golden brown Belgian waffle is tasty buttermilk-marinated chicken. The Nashville Hot is a spicy, smoky-flavored chicken thigh rather than the traditional breast and brings the heat with a strong cayenne base, cooled down with crunchy shredded lettuce and pickles. If you’re sticking with the classic, you’ll find it dressed with chili honey and cider slaw. theparkvegas. com/en/restaurants/bruxie.html

Penn & Teller
ONE OF MAGIC’S MOST MOTIVATED MEN PENN JILLETTE ON NEW LOOK, NEW BOOK AND NEW ILLUSIONS By Heather Turk
P
enn Jillette has accomplished his fair share of impossible feats over the years alongside his partner Teller, from catching a bullet in his mouth to making a rare African Pigmy Spotted Elephant disappear, but his most recent triumph didn’t involve magic at all. Currently promoting his new book, Presto!: How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear and Other Magical Tales, the longtime Las Vegas headliner is finally sharing his story of how he lost 110 pounds. “I was 330 pounds and my blood pressure was off the charts and landed me in the hospital,” Jillette told Sunseeker. “I had to make a change in the way that I eat. The book is basically a comedy book, but it’s about my weight loss journey. I went all plant-based. No salt, no sugar, no flour, no oil, no animal products—lots of jokes, though.”

FEATURE STORY
Jillette started the diet in December 2014 and noted that “the weight started falling off very rapidly.” By his 60th birthday just three months later, he had already lost 100 pounds. Not only will fans who come to see Penn & Teller in Las Vegas notice Jillette’s leaner figure, but repeat ticket holders will notice that the magician has more energy since dropping the weight, too. “I feel healthier than I ever have,” Jillette stated. “I have more energy now and I see that when I play with my children and how I feel after a show. My blood pressure is way down and I feel just great.” When asked if he had any weight loss tips for those struggling with their own weight, Jillette simply replied, “Just eat less and eat healthier. Period. But don’t take my advice. Consult a doctor. If you take medical advice from a juggler, you’re a fool!”
One of Penn & Teller’s newest tricks, Rabbit, features Teller pulling a rabbit out of a hat
While keeping more than 100 pounds off is no easy task, Jillette said it’s nothing compared to creating a new magic trick.

“Some of the stuff Teller and I work on can take five, six, sometimes seven years and we still can’t get it right,” Jillette noted.
“Some of the stuff Teller and I work on can take five, six, sometimes seven years and we still can’t get it right...”
Case in point: one of the more elaborate illusions currently in Penn & Teller’s hit show at the Rio AllSuite Hotel & Casino where they dress a cow like an elephant and then vanish her onstage while surrounded by members of the audience. Dubbed “Elsie the African Pigmy Spotted Elephant,” Penn & Teller worked on the three-minute bit for six years before bringing it to the stage.
The one illusion filmed for “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” that Jillette is the most excited to perform in front of a live audience, however, is actually a classic bit he and Teller haven’t done in years.
In addition to Elsie the African Pigmy Spotted Elephant, ticket holders will see several other illusions that were recently added to the Las Vegas production, many of which Penn & Teller perform on this season of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us.”
“We are doing a cut and restored snake onstage,” Jillette said. “It’s a bit we did on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in 1986 and lit up the NBC switchboard with complaints. We are very excited to do it again after 30 years.”
“We have a great new host in Alyson Hannigan,” Jillette said when asked about the TV series, which filmed its third season at the Rio back in April and airs new episodes on The CW through Oct. 5. “She’s just fabulous. We have some great foolers on this season, too, and Teller and I have
Other bits filmed for “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” that viewers will see live in Las Vegas include a new interactive card trick called Love Ritual, which the duo performed with Hannigan on the season premiere as well as on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” and Penn & Teller’s elaborate King of Animal Traps where Teller sets up an assortment of frightening animal traps, then collects the food from them— unharmed—to make a sandwich. Audiences will also see the talented individuals who managed to fool Penn & Teller this season perform live during certain shows in September and October.
come up with some new material for our solo segments that we are very proud of.”
Penn & Teller are currently busy working with “the Yoda of magic,” Johnny Thompson (a.k.a. The Great Tomsoni), learning two classic stage bits that they hope to add to their Las Vegas show soon. Penn & Teller perform Saturday through Wednesday at 9 p.m. (dark Oct. 23-Nov.2). Tickets start at $75, plus tax and fees. For more information, visit riolasvegas.com.

as Vegas is known as the Entertainment Capital of the World for a reason: there’s always something new and exciting playing for audiences to enjoy. This year has already welcomed several must-see acts to the city’s many marquees, including the return of Mr. Las Vegas himself after a 5-year absence! From a classic funk band that still has all the right moves to an improv comedy troupe that performs with puppets, here’s a look at three worthy additions to the city’s stellar entertainment lineup.
CAMEO AT WESTGATE LAS VEGAS RESORT & CASINO
One of Las Vegas’ newest resident acts, this Grammy-nominated funk band puts on a highenergy concert guests won’t soon forget. It’s almost impossible to stay seated throughout the 60-minute show, especially when the group starts playing their two biggest hits: “Candy” and “Word Up!” For those in town on Sept. 3, Cameo will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of their chart-topping album Word Up! Audiences get to watch as one of the world’s most beloved entertainers reflects upon his storied career, answering questions from ticket holders while showing them rare photos and video footage from his personal collection. Fans are sure to be in awe of Newton’s remarkable stories involving everyone from Frank Sinatra to Elvis Presley. In between questions, Newton also sings a few songs, plays a couple of instruments and—of course—kisses a few lucky ladies in the audience. “PUPPET UP! – UNCENSORED” AT THE VENETIAN
This sidesplitting production features six worldclass puppeteers who bring more than 60 unruly puppets to life. Created by award-winning director, producer and writer Brian Henson (“The Muppet Christmas Carol” and “Muppet Treasure Island”) and actor, director and improv expert Patrick Bristow (“Ellen”), guests are guaranteed a different show every performance—combining off-the-cuff comedy and outrageous storylines with the unmatched talent and creativity of The Jim Henson Company. Carrot Top keeps audiences laughing during his long-running show
A TRUE COMEDIC GENIUS THE EVOLUTION OF CARROT TOP By Heather Turk

ressing up like Carrot Top may be a popular costume idea each year for Halloween (“I remember this guy came up to me once dressed like me and told me my costume was pretty good,” the curly-haired comedian told Sunseeker. “I told him his was better.”), but there’s only one real Carrot Top. Often imitated but never duplicated, Carrot Top continues to be one of Las Vegas’ most beloved headliners. Now in his 11th year performing at Luxor Hotel and Casino, Carrot Top’s hilarious act has truly evolved over the years, mixing the props and stand-up comedy he’s always been known for with more music and video clips. “When I first started out, I just had my props and some music—I never had any videos,” Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, explained. “Now, though, I have a giant screen behind me that I can use for some punchlines. Some props I don’t even build anymore, I just show them on-screen and they have more impact.”
“I know I’m blessed to still be doing this,” he said. “Every night I’m amazed by the people who come to my show and thank the crowd for being there.” As for whether or not he has any tips for those who want to dress up like their favorite comedian this year for Halloween, Carrot Top just joked, “You need to be really handsome and have the right amount of femininity and masculinity. And you need the right wig.” Carrot Top performs Wednesday through Monday at 8 p.m. Tickets start at just $49.95, plus tax and fees, with VIP meet-and-greet ticket add-ons also available before every show. Although Carrot Top doesn’t get too political during his show (“I figure people will go see Bill Maher for that,” he said. “People come to my show to escape reality, though I do touch upon it a little just so people know I’m aware of what’s going on.”), he does use the video screen for one election joke he recently added into the production. “I talk about how we had 100 people running for president and have all the names scroll by, then stop on the final two candidates and ask, ‘Really, is this the best choice?’” Carrot Top also noted that he tells more stories during his show now, letting fans in a little on his life and career.

Celine Dion’s hit residency, “Celine,” features the Grammy Award-winning singer accompanied by 31 musicians consisting of a full orchestra and band
THE SHOW MUST GO ON CELINE DION CONTINUES HER LATE HUSBAND’S ‘SYMPHONY’ By Heather Turk
Photos by Denise Truscello
O
n the heels of her highly anticipated international tour, which saw the superstar songstress performing in Belgium, France and Canada, Celine Dion returns to Las Vegas on Sept. 20 to resume her second hit residency inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, “Celine.”
there’s no doubt certain songs like “Because You Loved Me” must be more difficult for Dion to sing now that Angélil is gone, being the consummate performer she is, her voice rarely falters and is as strong as ever. A pitch-perfect production from start to finish, Dion’s powerful performance is not to be missed!
Proving that “The Show Must Go On,” the grieving singer returned to The Colosseum stage on Feb. 23, a little more than a month after her husband, René Angélil, lost his battle with cancer. While many were surprised she returned so soon, especially considering that her brother Daniel passed away from cancer just two days after Angélil, Dion began her first show back with a quote explaining her decision: “I understood that my career was in a way his masterpiece, his song, his symphony. The idea of leaving it unfinished would have hurt him terribly. I realized that if he ever left us I would have to continue without him, for him.”
“Celine” runs Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday Sept. 20 through Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Other resident acts returning to The Colosseum this September and October include Mariah Carey and Elton John. For more information, visit thecolosseum.com.
While Dion may have jumped back into work for her husband, truth be told, it was probably the best decision she could have made for herself. In what has certainly been her most emotional year to date, Dion truly looks happy to be back onstage. Her elegant residency, which features 31 musicians consisting of a full orchestra and band, has always been one of the Strip’s best productions, but it’s even more special now seeing Dion perform for her loving husband watching from above. During her last string of performances, Dion even playfully teased with the audience one night “That was for René,” after showing some leg during one of her numbers to some friendly hoots and hollers. In addition to singing some of her biggest hits, like “My Heart Will Go On” and “All By Myself,” Dion performs several covers during the show, including Queen’s aforementioned “The Show Must Go On” and Prince’s “Purple Rain.” While

“LOVE” recently added an act that performs to The Beatles’ hit song “Twist and Shout”
GIVING AUDIENCES MORE TO ‘LOVE’ THE REFRESHED VERSION OF CIRQUE DU SOLEIL’S HIT SHOW IS AN “EVOLUTION” By H. Wadowski
I
n honor of the production’s 10th anniversary, The Beatles “LOVE” by Cirque du Soleil recently underwent a major “EVOLution,” giving fans of the hit show at The Mirage even more to love. “It was a great show before, we just sort of polished a gem,” said Kati Renaud, senior director of show quality for “LOVE.” “We wanted to bring the show to the next level from a technical perspective.” Aside from seeing more video projections during the show—the stage was painted a lighter shade so that it could be used as a projection surface—ticket holders will notice new choreography, costumes, characters and even a new Beatles number in the production. “Our opening has always been very explosive,” Renaud stated. “Then we’d go into ‘Eleanor Rigby,’ which is slower, and ‘I Am the Walrus.’ Having ‘Eleanor Rigby’ and ‘I Am the Walrus’ back to back was just too long a period where the rhythm was slow, so we wanted something more dynamic after ‘Eleanor Rigby’ to get people excited again. ‘Twist and Shout’ was always one of Dominic’s (Champagne, the director of “LOVE”) favorite Beatles songs, so he was excited to finally find a way to bring it into this evolution.”
that features a projection of Paul McCartney serenading the artists. Champagne wanted to ensure that each Beatle had his moment to shine during the production, so visuals of each performer were added to certain numbers: Ringo Starr during “Octopus’s Garden,” George Harrison during “Here Comes the Sun” and John Lennon during “A Day in the Life.” Renaud noted that the crew also made a few adjustments the public might not even notice, like condensing the amount of time between certain acts. These small changes create a huge difference in the flow of the show, making “LOVE” more enjoyable than ever. “LOVE” runs Thursday-Monday at 7 and 9:30 p.m. (dark Oct. 31). Tickets start at $79, plus tax and fees. For more information, visit cirquedusoleil.com/beatles-love.

“Twist and Shout” wasn’t the only thing that didn’t make the cut in 2006 when “LOVE” premiered but found its way into the show a decade later. Renaud also recalled scrapping four giant Tangerine Trees during “Octopus’s Garden” that are now integrated in the number.

fter having audiences practically “Dancing on the Ceiling” in April and May, Lionel Richie will once again be saying “Hello” to The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino this September. Performing Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays Sept. 21 through Oct. 12 at 8 p.m., Richie’s hit residency “Lionel Richie – All the Hits” has quickly become one of the Entertainment Capital of the World’s hottest tickets. Celebrities of all ages came to see the four-time Grammy Award winner kick off his Las Vegas residency last spring, including Boy George, Fabolous, Tyra Banks, fellow Las Vegas headliners Reba McEntire and Ronnie Dunn, Joel and Benji Madden, Cameron Diaz and Richie’s daughter, Nicole.
vocals and impressive piano-playing skills all add up to a concert experience that “Truly” can’t be missed. Tickets to see “Lionel Richie – All the Hits” range from $59 to $249, plus tax and fees, with a limited number of VIP packages also available. In addition to Richie, The AXIS will be welcoming back its first resident performer, Britney Spears, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays Sept. 2 through 10 and Oct. 21 through 29 at 9 p.m. Other artists scheduled to perform at The AXIS this September and October include Pitbull Sept. 15 and 16 at 9 p.m. and Marc Anthony Sept. 17 at 10 p.m. For more information on The AXIS’ star-studded lineup, visit caesars.com/planethollywood/shows.

The spectacular, near-2-hour production lives up to its name, featuring a set list of songs that define the music icon’s unparalleled career. Not only does Richie perform his greatest hits, including “All Night Long (All Night),” “Stuck on You” and “Say You, Say Me,” but he also pays tribute to his time with the Commodores by singing such classic tracks as “Brick House,” “Easy” and “Three Times a Lady.” There’s even an inspirational moment where Richie leads the audience in a sing-along of “We Are the World.” As the groundbreaking singer-songwriter takes audiences on a musical journey back in time, he peppers the production with stories about his own life (turns out Prince’s favorite Lionel Richie track was “Say You, Say Me”) and reminds audiences of how there was a Lionel Richie song for every up and down they experienced being young and in love. Although the show may not be as flashy as some of Las Vegas’ other resident productions, Richie’s interesting and sometimes comical stories, pitch-perfect

The “Giacometti” number in Blue Man Group’s new Las Vegas production
ONLY IN VEGAS SEE TWO OF BLUE MAN GROUP’S NEW ALBUM TRACKS PERFORMED LIVE By Heather Turk
I
n honor of their 25th anniversary this year, Blue Man Group released their third studio album, THREE, on April 22. The 14-track release features two songs, “Creature Feature” and “Giacometti,” that fans can only see performed live in Las Vegas at Luxor Hotel and Casino. “’Creature Feature’ was specifically written to be played in Las Vegas on these weird motorized drum kits that the Blue Men stand within,” said Jeff Turlik, creative director and music supervisor for Blue Man Group. “We refer to them as the Percussipedes because of their insect-like appearance. ‘Giacometti’ is featured during a piece about digital information, where the Blue Men are wearing suits made of flexible video surfaces which interact with the entire stage.” Although both “Giacometti” and “Creature Feature” were originally written for the Las Vegas production because they worked well on the “Vegas-sized stages” (“Creature Feature” debuted before Blue Man Group moved from Monte Carlo Resort and Casino to Luxor Hotel and Casino last November), fans who purchase the album THREE might notice that the songs they hear on the release sound slightly different. That’s because the live tracks were only used as inspiration for the recorded versions.
Described by Turlik as “a large set of metal tubes similar to a pipe organ but hit with hammers,” the Chimeulum joins a host of inventive new instruments used to make THREE. “I don’t believe anyone has ever taken an inventory on all of the instruments invented, designed and built by Blue Man,” Turlik stated. “One thing to note, for every instrument successfully created and integrated into the sonic fabric of Blue Man, there are at least 5 to 10 failed attempts. You should see our basement/cemetery of less successful instrument attempts through the years.” Guests can purchase THREE inside the Blue Man Group gift shop, on iTunes and in select stores. Blue Man Group performs nightly at 7 and 9:30 p.m. (dark Sept. 27 and Oct. 31). Allegiant passengers receive special offers when they purchase their tickets onboard. Ask your flight attendant for details.
In addition to the Percussipedes, audiences will see another new instrument played during both “Creature Feature” and “Giacometti.” 38

“A lot of the composition and arrangement decisions for the show are related to the actions onstage,” Turlik explained. “When recording these songs for THREE, we felt it was important to free ourselves from those limitations to make sure the material worked as a strong piece of music.”
People have always come to Vegas looking for a sign. Gangsters, pranksters, vixens, visionaries, rascals, ranchers. They all came, along with thousands of ordinary people with either a fortune to find or nothing to lose. They all made history. Las Vegas history. Come take a walk through it.

THE PERFECT DATE 10 THINGS MEN AND WOMEN WILL LOVE ABOUT LAS VEGAS ACCORDING TO “DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN” STAR KEVIN BURKE By Kevin Burke
1
“DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN” AT THE D LAS VEGAS Every night, I blast onstage and launch into a show that makes people laugh, think, feel and fall in love all over again. As my friend Joel says, “You open people’s hearts while making them laugh, and that’s the best job in the world.” I couldn’t agree more.
2
PINBALL HALL OF FAME I love playing pinball. If there had ever been professional pinball playing, I probably wouldn’t be an entertainer. This museum at 1610 E. Tropicana Ave. is truly one of the last great pinball parlors on Earth with machines dating back to the 1950s.
3
ANGEL PARK GOLF CLUB My production team got me into golf. I can now play a par-3 course!

AURELIO’S PIZZA AND ROSATI’S PIZZA I’m from the Chicago area. Chicago didn’t invent pizza, but it did perfect it. You want pizza done right—thick crust with cornmeal on the bottom, the sauce and meat on top of the cheese—then these are the places you should go.
6
THE ROMAN PLAZA AT CAESARS PALACE It’s between the “Absinthe” tent (great show, by the way) and Serendipity 3. A great place to sit outside with a drink, relax and people watch.
7
COMBAT ZONE PAINTBALL’S ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE EXPERIENCE My 13-year-old son Griffin and I did this and had a blast. All you have is your wits, your trusty paintball gun and your will to survive.
8
DOWNTOWN CONTAINER PARK A terrific place for families with its Swiss Family Robinson-style tree house, restaurants, shops and free concerts. You can’t go wrong with a giant fire-shooting praying mantis sculpture greeting visitors!
9
RED ROCK CANYON NATIONAL CONSERVATION AREA One of nature’s truly beautiful places. My daughter McKenna and I like to hike the trails. Bring water and dress warmly—it can be 10 to 15 degrees cooler.
10
ANTIQUE ALLEY Looking for a loveseat made from the rear end of a ‘57 Chevy, a velvet Elvis or items from casinos of the past? You’ll find it downtown among this cluster of shops by the Las Vegas Arts District. Afterward, swing by the D Las Vegas for dinner at Andiamo Steakhouse and then catch my show. “Defending the Caveman” performs nightly at 8:40 p.m. inside the D Las Vegas. Tickets start at $45.05. John Wes Townley returns as the race’s defending champion, and an action-packed day at the 1.5-mile speedway will also include the second annual LVMS Show & Shine car show in the track’s massive Fan Engagement Area. Last year, two of the NHRA’s four world champions clinched their titles in Las Vegas, the penultimate stop on the 2016 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, and track records fell on a daily basis. ong regarded as the crown jewel of downtown Las Vegas (and not just because it’s home to the world’s largest gold nugget on display—the 61-pound, 11-ounce Hand of Faith), the Golden Nugget continues to be one of the city’s most luxurious resorts.
Situated on Fremont Street Experience, this beautiful property offers guests a Strip-like experience at a fraction of the cost. Offering an array of amenities for guests to enjoy, from delectable dining options to topnotch entertainment, visitors will find it hard to come up with a reason why they should ever leave the resort! One of the property’s biggest draws while the weather is still warm is its $30-million pool, The Tank, which has a 200,000-gallon shark aquarium as its centerpiece. Not only can guests swim past the aquarium, which is home to five species of sharks including Pacific blacktip and sand tiger, but they can also speed through it thanks to a water slide that runs through the aquarium! Open to the public for a nominal fee, the three-story pool complex also boasts its own adults-only pool on the top floor, hot tub and three poolside gaming tables. Bettors can test their luck inside the resort’s casino, too, which features more than 850 slot machines as well as a variety of table games and a race and sports book. One of Las Vegas’ most beloved entertainers, the popular comedian-impressionist is sure to have everyone laughing until their sides hurt during his fast-paced production. Brown seamlessly goes from one famous voice to another, whether he’s singing popular songs he rewrote based on the artists performing them (for example, Willie Nelson’s “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” becomes “To All the Plants I’ve Smoked Before”) or acting out hilarious scenarios like Sylvester Stallone and John Travolta working together at a McDonald’s. The Golden Nugget also hosts the popular 52 Fridays concert series every Friday night at 8 p.m. Featuring a diverse lineup of talent

The Golden Nugget boasts some of downtown Las Vegas’ most mouthwatering restaurants as well, from familiar favorites like Chart House and Claim Jumper to its sophisticated steakhouse, Vic & Anthony’s. he pubs in downtown Las Vegas span a cornucopia of cultures—ranging from British and Irish to homegrown American—and they’re all devoted to your favorite pastime: drinking! So drop in and knock back a pint.
DOWNTOWN CROWN PUB
A British pub in downtown Las Vegas? You bet! Located in The Arts Factory at 107 E. Charleston Blvd., Downtown Crown Pub, a sister property to two existing Crown & Anchor Pubs in Sin City, resembles something you’d find on the other side of the pond. Open 24 hours, it boasts fantastic beer offerings on tap and in bottles along with English food like Bangers & Mash, Scotch Eggs and Sausage Rolls. Plus, you’ll find darts, billiards and TVs showing live soccer matches. downtowncrownpub.com
At Hennessey’s you can also order the “world’s largest pint” served in a humungous 60-ounce souvenir glass. hennesseyslasvegas.com
TRIPLE 7 RESTAURANT & BREWERY
This brewpub in Main Street Station has been making some of downtown’s most unique brews for 20 years. Classics like the flagship High Roller Gold, the Vienna-style Royal Red Lager and German-influenced Double Down Hefeweizen are available yearround along with seasonal selections and a monthly Brewmaster Special. A menu of seriously tasty eats complements these beers. mainstreetcasino.com/dine/triple-7-restaurantand-microbrewery
THE FILAMENT
Found inside the Fremont Hotel & Casino, drinks are affordable and the service is always friendly here. With Edison light bulbs as décor accents, The Filament’s motto proclaims, “where drinking is always a bright idea.” Beer lovers will discover more than 30 brews, including a selection of craft options like Shiner Bock and Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Skilled bartenders also create signature cocktails such as the Fully Charged Colada featuring a blend of five different rums. fremontcasino.com/dine/ the-filament

HENNESSEY’S TAVERN LAS VEGAS
The criteria for an excellent Irish pub are lots of beer and “craic” (the Gaelic word for fun). Hennessey’s Tavern has both in spades. In fact, there’s a lot to drink in at this pub located underneath the giant Bass pint glass on the corner of Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard. Indulge in eight different beers on tap as well as a fine selection of bottled beers.

It’s guaranteed to be succulent and scrumptious! thed.com/dining/d-grill
HEART ATTACK GRILL AT NEONOPOLIS
With a hospital theme (the waitresses are dressed like nurses!) and a name that suggests coronary risk from the high fat content and huge calorie counts, there’s nothing like these meaty monstrosities. Lightweights can opt for the halfpound Single Bypass Burger while serious eaters can try downing the four-pound Octuple Bypass Burger. In addition to tomatoes and onion, each patty comes with a thick slice of cheese and you can add up to 40 slices of bacon. These burgers are so delicious you won’t care that they’re artery clogging! heartattackgrill.com
SIEGEL’S 1941 AT EL CORTEZ
FLIPPIN’ GOOD BURGERS AND SHAKES
Be sure to visit this friendly, laid-back spot for burgers at 505 Fremont St., just a few steps east of Las Vegas Boulevard. Three things make these burgers great: the locally baked potato buns, the 100 percent USDA lean Angus beef and the fresh toppings, including handleafed lettuce and crispy pickles. If it’s your first time, order the Flippin’ Good Cheeseburger. The menu boasts other yummy options such as the BBQ Burger, The Flame and the Farm Burger with smoked bacon and a fried egg. flippingood.com
The charbroiled, half-pound burgers served in this stylish joint with a vintage Vegas vibe are killer good—as you’d expect because they’re named after mobsters. The signature Bugsy Siegel Burger comes with applewood bacon, grilled onions, sharp cheddar cheese, tomato marmalade, Dijon mustard and house-made pickles. If you’re into Italian food, you’ll love the Lucky Luciano Burger with its marinara, caramelized onions and mix of Romano and mozzarella cheeses. Plus, there’s the Meyer Lansky Burger featuring pastrami, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on a ciabatta bun. elcortezhotelcasino.com/dining/ siegels-1941

A CARNIVORE’S DELIGHT VISIT OSCAR’S BEEF • BOOZE • BROADS IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS By Yvonne Newman

as Vegas is well stocked with steakhouses, but if you’re seeking a truly glorious cut of beef in an elegant speakeasy-meets-men’s club kind of setting, then go to Oscar’s Beef • Booze • Broads. Located inside the Plaza Hotel & Casino’s iconic dome, you’ll have a one-of-akind view overlooking downtown’s Fremont Street Experience while indulging in a delectable dinner.
Former Las Vegas mayor, mob defense attorney and now chairman of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Host Committee Oscar Goodman opened Oscar’s in December 2011. It embodies his pleasure-seeking philosophy of life—so, as he would say, you should come “enjoy the beef, booze and broads!” Dimly lit with dark wood accents, Oscar’s décor is masculine yet elegant. The Rat Pack, Elvis and even mafia bosses would feel right at home. With photos, newspaper clips and other memorabilia from Goodman’s past, you’ll be immersed in a cool, vintage Sin City vibe. Start your evening off with a handcrafted cocktail in Oscar’s Lounge. The menu includes Goodman’s beloved martinis. You can take advantage of happy hour promotions every evening and on select nights there’s a reverse happy hour, too.
that are inspired by Goodman’s family recipes or pay homage to his “friends.” Executive Chef Jeff Martell has taken old school classics and given them a new school twist. This is especially true of the appetizers, which are not to be missed. The Mob Meatballs and Johnny Quinn’s Crab Cake are two popular choices. Benny’s House Made Ricotta, a creamy rosemary-and-garlic-infused ricotta cheese with tomato caper relish on toasted ciabatta, is utterly delicious. But the Prime Rib is the star of the menu and comes in two sizes: Carolyn’s Cut and Oscar’s Bone-In (warning: this portion is huge). Both are melt-in-your-mouth tender. Joey C’s Filet Mignon and the Spicy Flame Charred Spilotro Steak are also good for serious meatheads. For those seeking other options, there are fish and veal dishes as well as the wonderful Nicky’s Roasted Chicken & Artichokes with natural jus and mashed potatoes. You can complement your entrée with some equally unforgettable sides. Ralph’s Smashed Potatoes are deliciously decadent, or Shmuley’s Extraordinary Mac & Cheese is another perfect accompaniment. Oscar’s is open nightly—the lounge from 4-11 p.m. and the restaurant from 5-10 p.m. For more information, go to oscarslv.com.

Muhammad Ali, Larry King, Jay Leno, Oprah Winfrey, Phoenix Suns’ Steve Nash and NASCAR Driver Joey Logano have all had their likeness shaped into the over-the-top corn maze. There are five miles of pathway through the maze and a typical journey takes just under an hour. Those wanting the thrill of a labyrinth without as much guesswork can opt for Schnepf Farms’ three-acre maze—perfect for the kids. Admission to both mazes is included in the ticket price for the Pumpkin & Chili Party, which was voted as one of Arizona’s Best Fall Events by locals and featured as one of the top pumpkin farms in the Southwest by Sunset Magazine. schnepffarms.com

VERTUCCIO FARMS
Every fall, families flock to Vertuccio Farms to go pumpkin picking and walk the seven-acre corn maze. The difference here is the sixpoint scavenger hunt that promises a different outcome every time. Head here at dusk to enjoy the mystery of the maze. (Be sure to bring a flashlight after dark.) Also popular is the hay maze featuring stacks of hay that guests can wind through or hop across. Pony rides, duck races, pedal carts and a new giant jump pad for the little ones also await the family. vertucciofarms.com
MOTHER NATURE’S FARM
Families will especially enjoy the fall activities at Mother Nature’s Farm in the Town of Gilbert, which has been offering family fun and entertainment for decades. In October, fall fun includes the annual pumpkin patch featuring hundreds of pumpkins of every size—with last year’s winning pumpkin weighing in at 142 pounds! Maze runners will enjoy Alexander’s Adventure Maze and feeding the farmyard animals at the Children’s Discovery Farm. mothernaturesfarm.com For information on fall harvest fun go to visitmesa.com.

TOUCHDOWN TIME! By Matt Seli

he desert is the perfect place to visit during the fall and winter months. Not only is the weather more-than-ideal, but football is in full swing. From Tempe, where the Arizona State Sun Devils hail, to Glendale, where the Arizona Cardinals look to base a Super Bowl run, the Valley of the Sun is all about football and the teams it supports. Starting in Tempe, those Sun Devils throw one heck of a party on game day. With tailgates all over campus and in the surrounding parking lots, you’ll have plenty of options of where to setup your football day camp. For those that didn’t check their bag-toss boards and portable grills on the flight or just prefer a sports bar atmosphere, one Arizona State University (ASU) favorite on game day is Four Peaks Brewing Company, located on 8th Street just over a mile from the stadium. With plenty of televisions on which to watch your favorite teams, enjoy some of their famous brews and incredible food before game time. If your plans include posting up at a place like Four Peaks and watching all the games, you’ll be in more-than-good-hands for a fun-

The location itself will “wow” visitors, as the stadium is built right into what is fervently known as “A” Mountain. Go Devils! thesundevils.com For those more interested in the pro game, make the trek to the Valley’s west side to see one of this year’s Super Bowl favorites, the Arizona Cardinals. Bringing back the likes of Fitzgerald, Palmer, Peterson and Mathieu, this team and its fans are hungry for victory—and their game day energy will be sizzling. With tailgates and sports bars aplenty, the “BirdGang” is sure to show you a good time. If you decide to go on a whim and don’t have tailgating plans, head over to the Westgate Entertainment District for pre-game fun. With sports bars and shopping all around, you’ll be sure to find the game, brew and swag you’re looking for. hree Gilbert, Arizona restaurants have one thing in common—Joe Johnston. Johnston brings a lifetime of growing knowledge and utilizing quality food items to the table, along with a desire to build community. Together with co-founders and partners, he has created three diverse eateries that use fresh, locally sourced and healthy ingredients to keep patrons coming back for more. Each place is threaded by a warm, welcoming vibe, along with thoughtful dishes that are made with both quality and pure satisfaction in mind.
JOE’S FARM GRILL
Repurposed from the house where Johnston lived as a child, Joe’s Farm Grill is a retromodern diner surrounded by lush greenery, with a menu as tasty as its hip aesthetic. Plump, juicy burgers are served on griddled buns, elevated by crunchy sides like crispy fried green beans or jumbo-sized onion rings. Grilled pizzas can be topped with items like vegetables or barbecued chicken. Milkshakes here are a must; thick and rich, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. The Agritopia Medjool Date shake is served seasonally, and the sweet punch of the fruit blended into the frozen goodness is not easily forgotten. joesfarmgrill.com
JOE’S REAL BBQ
This barbecue joint in the heart of Gilbert has been serving countless plates of pecansmoked meats since 1998. Options like pork, chicken, beef brisket and hot links spend hours in a smoker loaded with pecan wood to get the tenderness and flavors that make this a popular destination. Joe’s offers plenty of options for those who don’t eat meat, like the Stuffed Bakers—regular or sweet baked potatoes that weigh in at one pound, or more, and can be loaded with all kinds of good
toppings, like butter, cheese and sour cream. Sweets like the Root Beer Cake, Apple Crisp Ala Mode and warm cornbread with honey butter are not to be missed. joesrealbbq.com
LIBERTY MARKET
Liberty Market is all about classic dishes with a modern touch. Housed in a historic building from the 1930s, Liberty Market permeates a harmonic charm and authenticity that makes it inviting and homey. A Chef David’s Breakfast Sandwich is jazzed up with chipotle cream cheese and caramelized onions. The lunch menu’s New York Strip Steak Sandwich is served on a pretzel bun slathered with horseradish aioli. Dinner allows for options like Short Rib Rigatoni, tender Flatiron Steak or a meatless Red Bean and Rice Burger. libertymarket.com

THANK YOU ALLEGIANT
I wanted to tell you that I have appreciated how wonderful your phone staff has been in answering my questions this week! They have been helpful and have put all of my concerns to rest. And thank you for the low cost opportunity for our large family to go to Hawaii.
– The Smith Family, Las Vegas
My husband and I flew you for the first time in April from Cincinnati to Tampa / St. Pete. We were initially nervous about flying a lower cost carrier as we have historically used Delta for most all of our trips. We had a great experience and thought the flight attendants were wonderful!
– Elsie G., Hawaii
I sent an email asking for help with a rebate. On Saturday, I decided to phone Customer Care and sat patiently on the phone and eventually an Allegiant Air representative named Alison took my call. Calmly and professionally she addressed my issue and assured me that she could correct the error, which she did! The customer service she provided was outstanding and greatly appreciated. Thank you!

hen thinking about vacationing we typically think about two things: How will we get there, and what will we do when we arrive. Rarely do we think about all the hard work that goes into making our trips possible. At Allegiant, we have a team of Customer Service Representatives in Las Vegas who take thousands of phone calls each day to make sure that you, our travelers, are well taken care of before your flight. Sunseeker: How long have you been working for Allegiant? Linda: I’m celebrating my seventh anniversary in September.
Photo of Linda Schwindenhammer by Alina Strickland
Sunseeker: What is your role with Allegiant? Tell us more about what you do. Linda: I am a Customer Service Representative at the call center at our headquarters in Las Vegas. My goal is to assist each traveler with their specific needs. This includes anything from a vacation with hotel and entertainment, to finding a flight, to helping someone get home to a loved one. Sunseeker: What about your job gets you excited to go to work? Linda: We offer many fun options for families to be able to get away for a weekend or an extended vacation. Each day I have the chance to talk to someone from every corner of the U.S., and even to customers in Canada and Mexico. I strive to give each person my undivided attention, because each vacation is as important as the next. I also love hearing the street names from around the country. It’s a funny observation, but every state and region has unique names. Sunseeker: Out of all of Allegiant’s amazing destinations, which is your favorite vacation? Linda: One of my favorite destinations is Florida’s gulf coast. We started in Crystal River snorkeling with Manatees. It was such a peaceful and rewarding experience for everyone, I highly recommend it! We hiked and then kayaked lazy rivers and spent a day at Weeki Wachee
Springs. The final days were spent on gorgeous Clearwater Beach. Sunseeker: Is there a special memory from working in Customer Care that you would like to share with our readers? Linda: Honestly, every day brings a memorable call. A few years ago a woman called in to change her daughter’s reservation. While I was changing the reservation, we chatted about her daughter and granddaughter. Six months later I got a call from a lady wanting to book with Allegiant because she was so happy with our customer service. As we chatted through the booking, I suddenly remembered talking to her months ago when I changed her daughter’s ticket. I brought up the previous call and she recounted that the service on the first call was the reason she was booking again. Sunseeker: In your opinion, what three words describe working at Allegiant? Linda: That’s easy! Challenging, fast-paced, and rewarding. The recent culture changes and growth in Customer Care have been tremendous. Customer Care has grown from a small office to a specialty department focused on the total customer experience. Through ongoing training, our Customer Service Representatives are able to respond quickly to changes and traveler needs. Sunseeker: If you could travel anywhere in the United States on vacation where would you go and why? Linda: I have never been to the Dakotas or Montana. I’m a country/outdoor girl and need to work on getting to “Big Sky Country!” I would love to see elk, deer and buffalo as well. I’ve flown over the Rockies numerous times and would also like to see them from ground level. Sunseeker: Do you have a “locals’ tip for Allegiant travelers going to the Las Vegas area? Linda: Rent a car and go see Red Rock after it rains and Valley of Fire at sunrise. Downtown Summerlin is great for shopping and The Smith Center is a gorgeous building offering great plays, concerts and events. SPOTLIGHT

his past April, on World Wish Day, Allegiant and Make-A-Wish® came together to mark an important milestone in their three-year relationship. Beginning in January 2017, Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada will occupy 7,500 square feet of office space, making Allegiant’s Las Vegas offices the new home and headquarters for the organization. The new offices will allow the chapter to continue and grow their wish-granting capabilities. The site will serve as the host location for volunteer training, meetings and a place of support for families of children receiving wishes.
“We are humbled and ecstatic with this generous gesture from Allegiant,” said Caroline Ciocca, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada. “This partnership demonstrates true collaboration. Allegiant is providing us with an opportunity to reduce our overhead expenses by donating office space—which will allow us to grant more wishes. By bringing our work onto their campus, Allegiant employees will have more opportunities to get involved with our mission. It’s collaboration at its best. We are grateful and very excited to take our partnership to a new level.”
A celebratory event took place at the site of the new space on April 29, World Wish Day. Allegiant CEO Maurice J. Gallagher and Brian Davis, vice president of marketing, along with Caroline Ciocca, joined Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman for the announcement. “Allegiant is thrilled to make office space available to Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada, an organization that does so much to uplift the lives of those who need it most and engage the whole community in feel-good initiatives that promote positivity and giving back,” said Maurice J. Gallagher. “We’re excited to welcome the Make-A-Wish® team to our campus.”

Just think about the last time you visited Las Vegas. Was The Cosmopolitan around? One of the newest hotels on the Strip, “The Cosmo” is one of the most luxurious properties to indulge in with its 100,000-square-foot casino, vast collection of restaurants, multiple nightclubs and bars, worldclass spa and three distinct pools. The Cromwell is another example of how the Strip has reinvented itself, taking over a previous hotel and transforming into a one-of-a-kind resort. Another transformation is the SLS Las Vegas with over 1,600 guest rooms and a style all of its own. SLS Las Vegas is a large part of Las Vegas’ revitalization in the north end of the Strip which has seen dramatic changes in
just the past few years. Keep visiting, and the new oriental-themed Lucky Dragon will be another can’t miss location on the north end of the Strip. Allegiant, as many of you have come to know, is more than just an airline. Through its model of bringing passengers from their hometowns to popular tourist destinations—such as Las Vegas—the company has forged partnerships with other travel-related companies in each destination it serves. From hotels and rental car companies to theme parks and headlining shows, Allegiant’s offerings to its customers has grown to make it a complete travel company. Through the company’s website, Allegiant.com, customers will be presented with savings opportunities through the normal booking process.

TRAVELER INFORMATION SAFETY FIRST Customer safety is Allegiant ®’s first concern. Please be advised that interference with the duties of crew members, including flight attendants, is a violation of federal laws. Our crews are thoroughly trained in all safety procedures. To ensure your own safety, we hope you take a moment to review the safety information card located in the seat pocket in front of you. Be aware of the following: • Location of the nearest emergency exit • Location of your emergency oxygen mask, if needed • Correct procedure for exiting the cabin in an emergency SEAT BELTS Seat belts must be fastened ANY TIME the seat belt sign is on, during taxi, takeoff and landing. Once the seat belt sign is turned off, you may walk around the cabin. Due to unexpected turbulence, it is strongly recommended that you keep your seat belt fastened any time while in your seat. Allegiant’s exit seating policy does not allow the use of seat belt extensions in the exit seats due to tripping hazards. CHILD RESTRAINT SEATS Federal Aviation Administration requires that all child restraint seats used on planes meet federal safety standards. Acceptable seats bear proper labeling “THIS RESTRAINT IS CERTIFIED FOR USE IN MOTOR
VEHICLES AND AIRCRAFT” from the manufacturer. Unlabeled seats or seats manufactured before Jan. 1, 1981, are not acceptable. Child restraint seats are to be placed into a window seat and secured with an aircraft seat belt. PHOTOS & VIDEOS ONBOARD The use of small cameras or mobile devices for photography and video is permitted onboard provided you keep the purpose of your photography and video to capturing personal events. Photographing or recording other customers or airline personnel without their express consent is prohibited. Airline personnel reserve the right to prohibit photos and videos onboard the aircraft if it becomes a disturbance to them or other passengers. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES Allegiant is forbidden to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone who appears to be intoxicated or who has not yet reached the age of 21. It is a violation of federal regulations to drink alcoholic beverages during a flight unless they have been served by Allegiant personnel. SMOKING Smoking, the use of other tobacco products, e-cigarettes and other similar smoking devices are not permitted on any Allegiant flight. Federal law imposes fines of $1,000 for smoking and up to $2,000 for any attempt to disable an aircraft smoke detector.
